Introduction
 The project Hospital Management system includes
registration of patients, storing their details into the
system, and also computerized billing in the
pharmacy, and labs. The software has the facility to
give a unique id for every patient and stores the details
of every patient and the staff automatically. It includes
a search facility to know the current status of each
room. User can search availability of a doctor and the
details of a patient using the id.
Scope
 Can be used in any Hospital, Clinic, Dispensary or
Pathology Labs for maintaining patient details and
their test results.
Advantages of Computerized
Hospital Management System
 Immediate access of data.
 Friendly user interface.
 Time saving.
 Data can be easily insert/update/delete.
 Saving paper work.
 Give facility of different types of enquiry.
 Data’s are easily approachable.
System Requirement
SOFTWARE SPECIFICATIONS
 Operating System : Windows 2000/XP
 Font end : Visual Basic 6.0
 Back end : MS Access
HARDWARE SPECIFICATIONS
 Processor : X86 Compatible processor with 1.7
 RAM : 512 MB or more
 Hard disk : 20 GB or more
 Devices: Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor etc.
Design
The purpose of design phase is to plan a solution for problem specified by the
requirments.
Here used some palette like label, Button, button group, text field, text area,
password,field, menu,menubar, menu item etc.
For adding a patient information in the program ,if anyone click the add button the
application will show an information fill up form on the screen . After adding details
(e.g name , age , current problem etc) , by clicking submit button it will save the data
and information of the patient. For making a prescription there is a prescription
adding button, by clicking it , it will show a prescription to add advice and medicine
into the prescription form. By this sequences we can do all.
Limitations
storage
Lack of immediate retrievals
Lack of immediate information storage
Lack of prompt updating
Error prone manual calculation
Preparation of accurate and prompt reports.Prompt
reports
Conclusion
The Project “Hospital Management System” is for
computerizing the working in a hospital. It is a great
improvement over the manual system. This system was
throughly checked & tested with dummy data & thus is found
to be reliable. It also provides the facility of backup as per the
requirment.
