When conducting our research, I
made a questionnaire in order to get
responses
about
our
main
characters,
the
questionnaire
consisted of 8 questions which were
all closed questions and I managed
to get a wide range of responses
from friends and family and
teachers.

Looking at the graphs I have created we can pull a lot of conclusions about what the public like in main female and male
characters:

• Most of our sample preferred an everyday simple girl rather than a glamorous female character
• 12/14 people would like the female character to be from the city
• 12 people liked a young female character, 2 liked a middle aged female character and no one opted for an older female
character
• At 7 people opting for the choice, Carrie Bradshaw form Sex and the City was the favourite female film character
• When choosing a male character the choices appeared very close, with 7 people choosing Noah from The Notebook, 2
people choosing Mr Big from Sex and the City, one choosing Romeo, and 4 choosing John from Dear John, and so Noah
was the favourite
• 100% of people liked the two characters to be of similar ages
• More people wanted a female character to be of middle class
• More people wanted a male character to be of working class
This information is very key to our research into our male and female characters.
