Questionnaire, interview, observation and rating scale zunaira rafiq
In writing about your research when you have completed the project you need an explanation of your methodology so that others can understand the significance of what you have done and make sense of how it all worked. The methodology piece says why you did what you did. It also enables you to write about what you did not do and why, and about the weaknesses or limitations of your project as well as its strengths. Every research has a limitation of some sort and it is perfectly acceptable to identify the weaknesses of your own study.

Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.

3. Introduction
The questionnaire is invented by the sir FRANSIS GALTON.(S.Pandya,
2010) A questionnaire is a research instrument consisting of a series of
questions for the purpose of gathering information from
respondents. Questionnaires can be thought of as a kind of written
interview. The questionnaire should include an introductory statement
(or covering letter) and contact and return information.
The introductory statement should include the purpose of the survey and
why it is important, so that the respondents can see that it is a worthwhile
exercise.
4. What is questionnaire
They can be carried out face to face, by telephone, computer or post. A set
of questions designed to generate the statistical information from a specific
demographic needed to accomplish the research objectives. A
Questionnaire is a research tools consisting of a series of question and
other prompts (facts) asked to individuals to obtain statistical useful
information about the given topic. The questionnaire is probably most used
and most abused of the data gathering devices.

6. Examples of questionnaire
Open ended - What made you decide to pick this career ?
Close ended - Are you inspired by other artists ?
Dichotomous questions :
1. 1. do you have a dog as a pet?
2. A. Yes .
B. No
7. Likert Questions
We can easily communicate with

1.strongly agree
2. Agree
3.Neutral

5.Strongly
Leading question
How would you rate our new offerings
?
1. Excellent
2. Good
3. Very good
4. Average
5. Poor
8. Characteristics of good questionnaire
It deals with an important or significant topic.
It’s Significance is carefully Stated on the questionnaire or on its covering letter.
It is as short as possible, only long enough to get the essential data.
It is attractive in appearance, nearly arranged and clearly stated or printed.
Directions are clearly and complete, Important terms are clarified.
The question are objective, with no clues, hints or suggestions.
Questions are presented in a Order from simple to complex.
9. The length of questionnaire should be proper one.
The language used should be easy and simple.
The term used are explained properly.
The questions should be arranged in a proper way.
The questions should be in logical manner.
The questions should be in analytical form.
The questionnaire should be constructed for a specific period of time.
The questions should be moving around the theme of the investigator.
The answers should be short and simple.
10. Factors affecting questionnaires
• LENGTH OF THE QUESTIONNAIRE.
• REPUTATION OF THE SPONSORING AGENCY .
• COMPLEXITY OF THE QUESTION ASKED.
• QUALITY AND DESIGN OF THE QUESTIONNAIRE.
• RELATIVE IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY AS DETERMINED BY THE POTENTIAL
RESPONDENT.
11. Guidelines for designing a questionnaire
The questionnaire should be being with the instructions for the respondent to
provide the responses.
The questionnaire must be developed exactly in accordance with Study objectives.
Questions outside the respondents experience should not be asked.
Questions which are likely to lead to bias in the respondents should be avoided.
Questions should be very clear and simple.
Avoid professional Jargans.
Abrupt ending of the question and Questionnaire should be avoided.
12. Advantage of questionnaire
Less time and energy need to administer.
Reduce bias as interviewer is not present.
Used for large sample size.
Less instructive / than face to face interview.
Easy to analyse.
Cost effective.
It’s very economical.
It covers the research in wide area.
13. Disadvantages of questionnaire
Not suitable for all.
Low response rate.
Mailed questions may filled by someone.
Provides superficial information.
Chances of minister pretations.
People can lie and answer the questions vaguely.
Sometimes answer may be illegible.
It may be useless in many problems.
14. Conclusion
Questionnaire are the main and easy way collecting data.
But the questionnaire must be highly reliable and valid.
Using standardised questionnaire will give us the appropriate data and
will yield a valid study .
One must follow all the basic guidelines and methods of constructing a
questionnaire and test it before using it.
