QUESTIONNAIRE ANALYSIS
Music Magazine
Gender
There are 13 people in the sample, with a ratio of males to
females, at 5:8. Each person in the sample is aged 16-24,
which is the age range of my target audience.

Ethnicity
The majority of the sample were largely African/Carribean or
of Asian descent. With some research, these demographic
aspects take up 31.7% of London’s population (2011). This
might give an insight into who may be the majority of the
readers of the magazine, especially because hip-hop culture
is part of mainly the Afro-Carribean culture.

Music Magazine Popularity
The majority of the sample do not read music
magazines, although few know many
mainstream, American magazines. For
example, Vibe, XXL, Billboard and Rolling Stones. This
suggests that the magazine selection in Britain is largely
‘Americanised’/globalised, and is mainly open to popular
culture in the hip-hop world.

The results of preferred prices vary in the sample. The majority
said that they would pay, quite cheaply, £1 - £1.99 for a UK
music magazine. A contributing factor of this is shown in an
article from The Guardian that conveys the rise of downloads
overtaking physical sales. This may show that the public prefers
digital formats over physical formats like CDs and magazine.
