This document discusses the conventions and forms used in various real media products, and how the student's own media products conform to or challenge these conventions. Specifically, it discusses conventions for music video formats like having a storyline about love, low lighting, and urban clothing styles. It also discusses conventions for CD digipacks like simple designs with only the artist and title, and for magazine ads like using the same image as the digipack along with release information and a preview of the album cover. The student aims to conform their own music video, digipack, and magazine ad to these typical conventions of their genres.

3. Music video
• Before making my music video I studied many a wide variety of different
music videos that fit into my chosen genre which is RnB. There were many
examples that I decided would fit perfectly with my concept.
• A way it that conformed to the main conventions of a RnB genre is by
using a ,ale and female and having a storyline related to love running
throughout. This is very common in most rnb videos as it relates to the
lyrics where it says ‘I wanna love you’.
• Another way that I conformed to the conventions of and rnb video is by
having the whole video in low key lighting. This was done throughout the
video so that it set the tone that it was dramatic and tense.
• The clothing of the male and female is confoming to the Rnbsterotype of
urban clothing with the boys’s trousers hanging low. All rnb videos have a
theme running throughout the video when it comes to clothing.
• Clips of the male and female protagonists are edited into slow motion
showing that it was in the past and she is thinking of him. The reason why
we decided tconfrom to this specific quaity was because it shows ast tense
and her reminsing about him.

4. Digi Pack
Most digi packs that we analysed were very simple
and did not have much writing. This is was the
main conventions that we saw running
throughout all RnB CD covers. A way that I
conformed was by having the artist name and
single name the only texts on the page. This
made sure that it looked like a professional CD
cover as there was not much detail going on.

5. Magazine advert
• The main conventions of an advert are that it
usually has the same image as the
digipack, however, it also includes a quote to
inform the readers that the single has just
been released, and also a mini printscreen of
the albums front cover.
I have conformed to all of the conventions of a
typical magazine advert.
