1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
◆  My	magazine	mostly	conformed	to	magazine	conven4ons.	My	magazine	
was	a	pop	magazine.	For	example	in	my	front	cover	I	took	the	image	of	my	
model	at	a	mid-shot	because	that	is	how	front	cover	images	are	
tradi4onally	taken.	Here	is	an	example	of	what	I	looked	at:

◆  One	way	my	magazine	subverted	the	magazine	conven4ons	is	the	page	numbers.	
I’ve	wriFen	my	page	numbers	in	words	rather	than	numbers	to	grab	aFen4on	
towards	this	feature	because	it’s	a	unique	method	of	using	page	numbers

Does my magazine fit into my genre?How have I used the
models as music artists?
◆  My	magazine	fits	into	my	chosen	music	genre.	My	chosen	music	genre	as	
men4oned	before	was	pop	magazine.	In	my	research	process	I	found	out	
that	my	respondents	associated	pop	genre	with	mostly	purple	and	pink.	
						This	is	how	I	decided	on	my	theme	colour:	Pink	and	Purple	and	black	as	a	
base	colour		
	
	
	
	
u  The	models	I	chose	as	my	music	ar4sts	are	appropriate	to	feature	in	my	magazine.	In	
magazines	models	are	shown	to	have	a	slender	body,	for	girls	magazines,	
							models	keep	up	with	the	trend	and	in	my	pop	music	survey	analysis	most	
										respondents	expected	a	pop	ar4st	to	dress	in	edgy	fashion	which	is	how	my	
										models	dressed.	Their	mise-en-scene(hair,	ouOit,	makeup)	is	popular	among	
										young	women	and	teen	girls.

How have I used, photography,editing and mise-en-scene?
u  I’ve	used	mise-en-scene	appropriately	for	my	music	magazine	by	
following	the	trends	and	using	them	to	aFract	my	teen/young	adult	
female	audiences.	For	example	the	off	shoulder	ouOits	and	boxer	braid	
hairstyle	are	trendy	and	many	popular	ar4sts	and	students	can	
										be	seen	following	the	fashion.	
	
u  Before	I	started	making	the	front	cover	and	DPS,	I’ve	edited	the	
								images	I’ve	taken.	For	examples	I’ve	used	photoshop	
	
u  When	I	was	deciding	my	background	
seVng	for	my	DPS,	I	thought	that	high	key	
ligh4ng	in	the	background	and	on	my	model	
will	make	her	seem	“glowy”	and	angelic	
because	she	is	the	main	focus	of	my	DPS
