The student learned many new skills from their preliminary task to the final product. In the preliminary task, the student's Photoshop skills were basic and they felt unsure using the camera. However, for the final product the student gained confidence with Photoshop tools, understood how to take better quality photos, and knew how to direct photo shoots considering lighting, angles, and camera settings. Overall, the student is pleased with their progress and feels they have a wider knowledge of skills needed for media products.

learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

2. My entail uses of Photoshop were in my prelimarly task and I used a Nikon Digital SLR camera to
take my images. I did not feel confident in using Photoshop and a bit apprehensive on applying skills
to develop my layout and imagery. I used basic steps to get the affect I wanted. I was unsure of what
to do. I took inspiration from previous collages magazines so I could have an understanding of what
to do.
The quality of the image Ii had taken was not at a professional standard as I did not fully understand
how to work the camera because I thought it was quite complex. Some of my images was out of
focus and not framed properly. This is because I did not grasp the rule of thirds until I stared on my
main product.
After I carried out primary research the concept of importing images became easier to understand.
Additionally, this was also reflected by editing the images I have taken. I found it easier to
understand what was expecting from looking at band images.
I feel I have gained a wider knowledge on an array of aspect of producing a media product through
the whole process. I have improved my understand o Photoshop and feel more confident in
experimenting with a variety of tools and additional editing techniques to enhance my imagery. This
is a result of testing specific tools such, as the spot healing tool in different ways.
In my final product I feel that my photograph is consistent and I have applied the knowledge I have
learnt for the best outcomes. I also became familiar with the soft lighting box to create a soft tone
on the person I was photographing. I also tried taking the images from different angels and using
different camera angles for example: clos up, extreme long shot etc. I feel more confident in
directing the photo shot to as I am more aware of the factors that should consider that account for a
good image. For example: angles, the shutter speeds of the camera and the lighting.
Overall I am happy with the progress I have made from my entail Preliminary to the finished
outcome of my final product. I will apply the skills I have lent throughout the process to other skills
needed in media for expel; article writing, editing etc. also my layout skills are more advances and I
have a better understand of things like the Gutenberg design principle, rule of thirds and placing the
dominating image. This makes my work have a better look with a more professional feel.
