This document discusses the various technologies the author learned to use while creating their coursework, including Photoshop, Blogger, SlideShare, SurveyMonkey, and InDesign. In Photoshop, the author learned tools like the ruler, lasso, and stroke tools. For Blogger, the author learned how to upload slideshows from SlideShare. SlideShare allowed uploading presentations, while SurveyMonkey enabled creating and sharing surveys. InDesign helped with page layouts through columns. 2. In producing my course work I used multiple different types of
technologies, varying from Microsoft, Photoshop and PowerPoint that I
used in different depths in the past. While platforms such as InDesign,
slide share and survey monkey I had never used before.
This helped me develop my knowledge into how to use different
technologies.

3. PHOTOSHOP
I used Photoshop to create both my front cover and contents
page. As I hadn’t used photo shop in sometime I had to
familiarise my self with different techniques that I had to use.
- I found the use of the ruler tool very useful in creating my
magazine as it acts as a boundary for which your magazine
should fit within. This means you can get the correct limits
and proportions for your magazine to give it a professional
look and feel.
- I also learnt how to use the Polygonal Lasso Tool. This allows
you to cut around images and separate them from any
unwanted material. I used this to give the effect of the main
title on the front cover to be behind the main image through
cropping out the layer from the top of the images head and
copying and pasting over the title.
- I also learnt how to use the stroke tool this allows you to put
an outline around text making it stand out and look more
bold. This came in very useful in allowing text top pop out
from the page.

4. BLOGGER
I had never previously used blogger however I used it a lot and had to
become quite knowledgeable in how it operated. Blogger is the
platform that I used to display all of course work so it was very
important I knew how to use it.
In Found blogger reasonably easy to use as all the features are very
straight forward. However I did have difficulty in adding my slide shares,
and it took me a few attempts to get it right. To share a slide share you
have to first goon to a new post, then go on to HTML and copy and
paste the link from slide share, then click onto compose. this then
uploads your slide share into the correct format

5. SLIDE SHARE
Slide share was a platform in which you could upload information off of either
word or PowerPoint and put it into a slide show like format. I could then
upload this on to my blogger for a more professional looking approach to my
course work.
On slide share I learnt how fist upload my information from my chosen
platform onto the actual slide share website and then copy that information
onto my blogger account. This took a while to learn, but was reasonably easy
after a number of attempts. I also sometimes found it difficult to login onto
my slide share account but eventually found out that you first have to log into
your linked id account before logging into your slide share account.

6. SURVEY MONKEY
I learnt to use survey monkey with reasonable ease considering I’d never used
it before. I used this to create a survey with questions of my choice that
anyone could answer. The questions could be spread through a huge range of
media platforms making it very easy for a number of people to do the survey.
I learnt through survey monkey how to first create a questionnaire through a
multitude of different methods, and then share it through messenger or my
blogger account for people to then fill it in. This made it very easy for me to
get fast and easy to read results from people of various social groups.

7. INDESIGN
I used this to write up my double page spread. This was because it was a lot
easier than using Photoshop due to the layout and structure of the
application. However I found that it was very similar to Photoshop to use,
with a few subtle changes, for example the way I which text was downloaded
onto it.
- Through InDesign I learnt how to split the page up into columns. This was
important to create a structured double page spread and make it look
attractive to the reader. I split my page into 3 columns as I felt this spread
out the information on the page nicely.
- I learnt that when placing an image there are 2 different arrows to move
the image. The first one moves the boundary of then image, while the
second moves the actual image itself. This took a while to get used to as
this step wasn’t required in Photoshop. This meant that images were often
misshapen and didn’t fit on the page properly. It took me a few attempts
to get it right.
- I also found that when you import an image it is blurred. This is because it
is the image prior to being published therefore isn’t to the full quality of
the actual image.

8. PHOTOGRAPHY
I used a professional DSLR camera to take my studio images. I have
used a DSLR camera in the past so was familiar with the different
setting and techniques used to get the photos that I wanted. I also
used a blank white screen, lights and tripod in my studio pictures.
I learnt from this how to correctly take both landscape and portrait
still images for my magazine, both in the studio and out in the open
(for my contents page). This required me to know the correct settings
for low light and high light images. I also learnt how to correctly set
up the tripod for the images, as well as being able to adjust the
lighting in the studio to the correct brightness for the images.
