1. Question 5
I have learnt how to use and developed my skills of using m
any different technologies and software. These include: Prez
i, SlideShare, Photoshop, Indesign, Blogger, Photography an
d camera skills and also ‘Dafont.com’.
Slide Share: Slide Share allowed me to embed work into blo
g posts. However, this was used for Power Points as oppose
d to Word Documents. This also helped me to share work a
nd presentations as well as creating posts in a more interest
ing way.
Photoshop: Whilst making my media product I used Photos
hop a lot, and it is with this software that I have learnt the
most. Using Photoshop allowed me to develop skills throug
h the many different options available. It mainly helped me
to develop skills in editing photos, which allowed me to cre
ate better looking photos for my final product.
2. Indesign: I got the hang of Indesign quite quick
ly after I used it for my induction assignment a
nd my College magainze. Indesign’s a simple so
ftware, that is specially designed for magazine
making; and once you do get started, it is straig
ht forward and self explanatory. I used it for m
y contents pages and my double page spread a
nd I didn’t do much other than drag and my im
ages and place my texts where I wanted it. It w
as simple and got the job done.
Blogger: This has been the first time I’ve used
blogger and I have developed my knowledge a
nd skills within blogging through the use of the
website. I have learnt how to blog post, label p
osts and follow other peoples work and the tea
chers to keep up to date.
3. Dafont.com: Whilst doing my coursework I use
d Dafont to help enhance my final product for
my masthead; as this allowed me to download
and use different and more exciting fonts. It ga
ve me a variety of fonts to choose from for my
final product.
Prezi: Using Prezi allowed me to create differen
t and more interesting presentations as well as
another way to present blog posts through em
bedding. I had never used this website before
and found it difficult at first but enjoyed learni
ng to use it and have really developed my skills
with it.
4. Photography/ Studio: I used an SLR camera an
d a professional photography studio for my ph
otos; which came in really handy, as the high q
uality photography was really important for a p
rofessional look on my magazine. Taking photo
s was really straightforward with the SLR camer
a, because the studio came in really handy wit
h the professional kit to give advanced lighting
and extra effects. There was also different colo
ur drops for your prefence. By the end of it all I
’ve learnt that lighting played a huge significan
ce from a normal photo and high quality profes
sional image.
