3. Research and planning
Technology How it was used
Dafont
We used Dafont because it is an amazing website that
has thousands of different fonts that we could use for
our OTS, especially to match the style that we were
aiming for.
Youtube
We used youtube for our research and planning
because it is a great site for researching different things
that we need, for example we used it to compare our
ots to films with similar opening title sequences and see
what aspects of them we need to keep.

Technology How it was used
Camera
The camera was a rather important technology to use
in our film, this is because we filmed all of our footage
on it and without it the quality wouldn’t have been as
good as it is now. The camera that we used was a
DSLR 1150D Canon with a class 10 32g SD card.
IPhones
We used iphones during the construction of our OTS
for communication and also to add to our research and
planning. We used them to see what time we should
meet at our location and what items we would need to
bring, e.g different props. Also we took pictures of the
construction to add to our research and planning.

Technology How it was used
Emaze
We used this website to do question 2 of our
evaluation. This question was about representation of
different social groups. We decided to use this website
because it was different to the normal presentation
apps such as keynote and powerpoint, it would also
show the range of different ICT that we used.

Technology How was it used
Prezi We used Prezi because it is an
easy , affective and interactive way
of expressing ideas and planning our
work. It was easy to use as it was
set out in a simple way. This made
plotting answers and ideas easy.
Apple Macs We used the macs as our main
technology to plan out and research
information for our OTS. On the Macs
we used many different online sites like
Prezi to create power points as well as
research information and other films on
google and on the internet.

Technology How was it used
Tripod We used the tripod in our OTS to
achieve a steadier, more focused and
less shakey camera during filming.
The tripod was crucial to filming as it
allowed us to get smooth and good
quality shots as well as get a variety
of different shots from different
angles.
Garageband We used garageband to create music
for our opening title sequence.
Garageband was crucial as it allowed
us to make our own music that we
liked and wanted. It also made the
OTS better as the music added
tension and drama to the OTS. It
was simple and easy to use.

Technology How was it used?
Powtoon We used Powtoon for question 3,
which was What kind of media
institution might distribute your
media product and why? Powtoon
was an easy, interesting and affective
way of laying out our answers to the
question. We used it because
Powtoon is very different and
interesting compared to other slide
sites because it is colourful and has
many different animations which
would allow us to show different
computer skills and techniques.
9. Research and Planning
Technology How was it used
Slideshare We used slideshare as it is an
effective and efficient method to use
for our work. We used this to
embed our keynotes on to the blog,
which was essential. This software
presented no faults and was easily
used.
Art of the title We used art of the title at the very
beginning of this project. We used
this as inspiration for ideas as it is a
collection of opening title sequences,
thus allowing us to collate our
knowledge.
10. Construction
Technology How was it used
Final cut We used final cut as our secondary
editing software to edit our opening.
We organised shots, put in
transitions and added filters onto the
screen to create effect. This software
was an effective tool within our
construction.
Dafont We used dafont within our
construction similarly to our
planning. We used dafont as a means
to create titles which were
appropriate to our genre, zombie
horror, we also used it in photoshop
when creating our production
company backgrounds and main title.
11. Evaluation
Technology How was it used?
Screencast We used screencast as a way to film
ourselves and evaluate our film. This
allowed us to upload videos, as a
group and individually, straight to
youtube. This shows that it was a fast
and easy way to aid in our evaluation.
