Evaluation Question 6
1. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT
ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM
THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
Rachael, Ellie, Tia
2. BLOGGER
This was the first time we had ever used Blogger – we used it as a
platform for our coursework so it could all be easily accessed from
one URL.
It was simple to use. We learnt how to embed different types of
files like Prezi’s and PowerPoints, insert pictures from the internet and
ones on our files and how to organise and design our blog.
3. SERIF DRAWPLUS X6
Serif Drawplus is what we used to make the video logos.
We first drew the video logos on paper. We then took a photo of this
and uses the pen tool to draw an outline on the computer. We then tried
different colours and fonts till we found 3 we liked.
We then added animation to it as most institution idents are moving.
We then exported this file and inserted it into Serif Movieplus X6
It was easy to use as we had prior experience using this software.
4. SERIF MOVIEPLUS X6
We used Serif Movieplus to do many things.
Firstly we used it to add an audio effect to our institution ident. This is because most institution
idents have a audio file or effect with them so it made our ident look more professional.
We also used it to edit our preliminary task and main task. This was because it was relatively easy to
use, had many features including sound effects and special effects and we had prior knowledge on how
to use it
We learnt how to ….
Add text captions and clips
Add sound and sound effects
Curt and trim videos
Change the lighting and add effects to the clips
Change the volume of a sound file
5. SLIDE SHARE
We used this as a platform for many of our blog posts such as
“Protagonist Name Decision”
It was very easy to use as it links to our google account and all you
needed to do was make a power point and upload it to the website
and it made it into an online public PowerPoint.
https://www.slideshare.net/
6. PREZI
Prezi was another online platform we used to present our work.
It was simple and fun to use. Instead of uploading a powerpoint
like with slide share, you selected a template and edited it online. It
made animations that were fun to watch.
https://prezi.com/
7. EMAZE
Emaze is very similar to Prezi.
It is also easy and fun to use and all edited online. However, the
movement between the animation are already preselected and cant
be changed.
We used this to create blog posts for example “Location Planning”
https://www.emaze.com/
8. SOUND CLOUD
We used sound cloud to make podcasts.
We didn’t use it very often as it was very difficult to upload it and
get it working however recording the podcast was very simple.
9. YOUTUBE
https://www.youtube.com/
This we used as platform for all our videos.
It was easy to use and we already had prior knowledge in using it.
With YouTube we could use the hyperlink to the video to embed
the video.
This way people didn’t have to leave the blog to see the videos.
10. PIKTOCHART
https://piktochart.com/
Piktochart was a website we used to make infographics. This made
some of our blog posts look professional and creative.
It was very simple to use and had many different templates to use.
It also split the image into boxes to make information easier to
organise and the infographic easier to put in the blogger website.
11. SCRIBD
https://www.scribd.com/
We used this as another online platform to display our blog posts.
This is similar to slide share. You use a premade PowerPoint them
embed the code into the blog post.
12. MOOVLY
https://www.moovly.com/
We used this to create a small quick animation of a rough idea for
our main production.
It was simple to use and once the animation was used we
published it to YouTube and embedded it into our blog.
This was also something unique
13. KAHOOT
We used this website to create a game testing camera shots. It was
very simple to use and uses technology like mobile phones to play the
game. You can have many players and its bright and colourful. This
was something unique as not many people had thought of this or
used it to display their coursework.

14. POWERPOINT
This is a software program
we already knew how to use and
have had prior experience with.
This was used to make the
basis for programs like Slide
share.
15. EXCEL
Excel was another program we
already knew how to use.
We used this to make charts and
display the data from our
questionnaires and surveys.
16. CAMERA
We used a canon camera to record all our footage. It was very
simple to use and had a tripod that was also easy to use. We practised
using the camera and tripod at the start of the coursework to give
everyone prior experience with the technology.
It had our own individual SD card inside and it was very easy to
transport our files from the SD card and camera onto the computer.
