1. Question 5 Laura Slater
How did you attract/address your audience?
From my market research I have found out who my target audience is and how
my magazine suits their needs and how it is used to target this audience
properly.
From my Facebook focus group I have found out that the main audience I am
targeting is girls aged 17-25 who have an interest in indie music.
This is one comment about my magazine from my Facebook focus group. Here is an example of
how I know my target audience is females aged 17-25. One way in which Lorren has said it targets
females well is by the colours used. For example light red, white and blacks. She has also stated
because the colours are quite soft they go together well. As well as this Lorren also says that the
magazine is also very female dominated as all the pictures in the magazine are females. This also
makes the magazine targeted to females. As well as this my layout is simplistic and classy which
also appeals to females as it is easy to read and clear.
This is also another comment from my Facebook focus group. Zoe has said that the colours used
show the target audience is females because they are more ‘girly’ colours. As well as this she has
also stated that the pictures are also of females which may lead to more females wanting to read
the magazine as they may look up to these women on the magazine.
2. Question 5 Laura Slater
Overall
Overall I think that the main thing on my music magazine which clearly
represents that it is targeted to females is the colours and the pictures used. As
females are used throughout my magazine they are more likely to attract the
female audience as many people look up to pop stars. As well as this the
colours used are quite soft and the colours are quite feminine. Therefore I
think the target audience is clearly represented throughout my magazine.
