Question 4
1. QUESTION 4
HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN
THE CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING
AND EVALUATION STAGES?
2. CONSTRUCTION
• CAMEREA
• We used a Canon 100D for our filming with two different lenses;
The Canon zoom EF 75-500mm and the end Canon EF-S 18-55mm.
The first was used was for most shots, including the extreme close
ups and the second was used main for establishing shots.
• LIGHTS
• We used up to two panel lights for our filming to achieve a
naturalistic-like effect, even when it was overcast to carry
continuity in our shots.
3. • PHOTOSHOP
• Photoshop was used to create both the poster and review page. It
is a very powerful tool, if only I was as powerful as the
programme… I used it to crop, lighten, edit, add text and colour
to both the ancillaries.
• FINAL CUT PRO
• Final cut pro was used in post production to edit the shots
together and add sound to our piece.
4. REASERCH
• YOUTUBE
• The video sharing giant was extremely helpful to us in finding
short films with similar target audiences to help us get an idea for
how to go about making our own piece as well as providing
tutorials on pretty much anything we could possibly want to know
about making our own short film.
• GOOGLE
• The king of the internet was also rather helpful in our research
stage, but allowing us to find short film makers which we could
later get in touch with, finding out about our target audience and
getting to any other website we needed.
5. PLANNING
• FACEBOOK/GMAIL
• We used both Facebook and Gmail in order to create both our
focus groups and to contact them the help us as much as they
could with our production.
• BLOGGER
• We used Blogger to create posts about our production and gather
all the information we had in an organised way so we could plan
what to do next.
6. EVALUATION
• SLIDESHARE
• I used slideshare for my evaluation as it is simple to use and easy
to navigate whilst having a range of designs, allowing for my
evaluation to look more professional and cleaner than say, a Prezi
would.
