2. I need to find out what my demographic is and what
expect from reading this magazine. It is important
that my magazine satisfies the audiences needs,
whether it be the design, content or adverts so they
are able to relate. To achieve this I must find out what
my target audience is.
3. Age group: 25 – 44 make up 74% of the audience.
Education: 84% have at least degree or diploma
Gender: 73% female and 27% male
Income: 53% earn over $70,000

4. As there isn’t currently a regional magazine focused
on younger people, I would like to focus my magazine
on a this age group, with the audience ranging from
about 16 – 25 years. I have spoken to my focus group
and as they have little or no income I would like to
make my magazine free to them. As my focus group is
roughly a 1:1 female to male ratio I shan't focus on
making it gender specific.
5. I need to focus on what my demographic does in their
spare time, as although a large amount will go out to
clubs and bars, the 16 and 17 year olds will not be able
to do this so I will need to speak to this part of my
focus group to find this information out.
6. My demographic won’t have a lot of time to read as
they will be focusing on their studies so I need to
make it as text light a possible and make my contents
page as clear as possible so they are easily able to
pick out the sections they are interested in
