4) HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA
TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION
AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND
EVALUATION STAGES?
I used blogger all the way
throughout my coursework because
this is the format we sued to
upload all of our work. Blogger is a
blogging site that is owned by
google. I uploaded my work in
different posts and within these
posts you can upload different
media formats, such as embedding
videos, slide shares, and Prezi's.
Blogger is one of the best options
for submitting work because of
this variety.
BLOGGER
PHOTOSHOP
• I have used Photoshop a lot
when making my ancillary texts. I
used Photoshop because it is the
most popular type of photo
editing software and it is easy to
use. Photoshop is good because
it allows the user to use layers, so
I can add text and other images
to my advert. Some techniques I
used when making my advert was
text stroking, the use of layers,
and colour balance.
FINAL CUT PRO X
• Prezi is an online application that
allows users to make detailed, and
entertaining slideshows, like
power point. I used this because
it makes PowerPoints more
interesting and look a lot better
than PowerPoint. Prezi also has
the ability to be embedded onto
my blog, making it easier for
people viewing my blog to see.
PREZI
• Prezi is an online application that
allows users to make detailed, and
entertaining slideshows, like
power point. I used this because
it makes PowerPoints more
interesting and look a lot better
than PowerPoint. Prezi also has
the ability to be embedded onto
my blog, making it easier for
people viewing my blog to see.
SLIDE SHARE
• Slide share is a website which allows
consumers to view power points and
slide shows online and on blogs,
because of the embedding tool. It is
also good because it does not change
any work you upload and is very
professional. I also like this website
because it allows users to upload
their own power points and it
transfers in to the slide share
website, rather than having to
recreate the same work in the
website.
DIGITAL CAMERA (DSLR)
• When filming and taking pictures,
I used a DSLR camera. I used
two different cameras and
borrowed them both. I do not
own a digital camera so I had to
learn how to set the exposure and
shutter speed. I also had to focus
and zoom. This was something I
found hard to do but figured it
out in the end. The main camera
I used was the canon EOS 600D
with a 18-55mm lens.
DIGITAL CAMERA (DSLR)
This camera was used because it has very good video recording
capabilities, as well as having really good still image capabilities. It has
18 megapixels and it has the capability to record in 1080p HD.
MICROSOFT OFFICE
• I used Microsoft office all the
way throughout the planning and
research of my coursework. I
used PowerPoint a lot because it
is a good, and easy to use way to
show all of my information in
one place. It also makes my work
look professional and tidy. It is
also suitable to be used with
other applications such as Prezi
and slide share, which allows it to
be embedded onto my blog.
WEB 2.0/SOCIAL MEDIA
• I used social media when
evaluating my products because it
is a good tool to ask friends what
improvements could be done to
my products. It could also be
used to ask the general public on
social media sites such as
Instagram and Facebook because
other people can have an input
on my product. Social media sites
are good examples of web 2.0
because they give the user
capabilities such as commenting
on things and liking stuff.
SURVEY MONKEY
• I used survey monkey because it was
a quick and easy way to get product
feedback from people with in my
target audience. When using survey
monkey you can design the survey
the way you want to and there are no
limits to how many questions you
can ask. It is also very user friendly
as it helps you when designing the
questions. I used this website when
evaluating my product as well as
when I was designing my product
because it is very efficient and it
displays the results in a very readable
way.
MOBILE PHONE
• I used my mobile phone a lot when I
was planning for my filming, during
filming, and when I was evaluating
my products. My mobile phone ws
useful because it allowed me to get
in touch with my friends to organise
filming and when we were going to
film. It also has a camera on it which
allowed my friend to take some
pictures of me while I was filming
for evidence. It also allows me to
film some of my feedback form my
friends on my final product. The
phone I used was the IPhone 5S.
