The student used various media technologies to aid their coursework production at each stage. Google was used extensively for research, allowing easy access to examples of existing media. PowerPoint and PowerPoint Online made the research, evaluation, and presentation of these stages more efficient. Facebook Messenger facilitated quick communication with their focus group. Blogger and Wix provided platforms to store, compile, and display their work online. Photoshop was essential for designing the magazine and billboard. A digital camera captured high-quality images needed. Access to a computer was vital for using the necessary software. A USB stick stored files portably between locations. SlideShare merged PowerPoint presentations with their Blogger site.
Here i have evaluated my products in terms of digital technologies used for research, planning, production and evaluation.
This is evaluation question four.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

3. Google proved itself an invaluable tool during many
stages of my coursework production, however primarily
throughout the research and planning stages. Google
and google images has helped me access copies and
images of existing media products, including copies of
magazines, contents pages, billboards and websites.
The ease of access to these examples through the use of
google has helped the greatly speed up the research
and planning progress, as well as making it easier for
me to display these examples in my work through
screenshots.
5. My access to PowerPoint and PowerPoint online has
not only made the process of completing my research
and evaluation phases much more efficient, but it has
also made the presentation of these stages much
easier. PowerPoint is a simple to use yet effective tool
in displaying my evaluation and research stage by
stage to anyone who may want to see these stages, but
it also makes it very easy for me to glance at my
research during production to make sure I am applying
my work to the conventions in which I had outlined.
Without PowerPoint online it would have also been
very difficult and much slower for me, as I would have
to transfer data and copies of PowerPoints to and from
locations. PowerPoint online and the OneDrive mean I
have constant access to PowerPoint, never mind my
location, making it the optimal tool for presenting my
work.
7. Facebook, particularly Facebook messenger has also
proved itself useful in allowing me to communicate
efficiently with my Focus group, making
communication fast, simple and easy in a group chat.
Tools that Facebook messenger provides such as the
ability to create opinion polls have also provided
valuable in finding out whether or not specific ideas
are going to be good for my magazine. The efficiency
that this has provided me has made feedback quick
and fluid, allowing my production stage to go ahead
much faster than it may have done initially.
9. I have consistently utilised blogger throughout my
coursework, in order to make all of the stages and final
productions publicly available. Without the use of
blogger throughout, it would have been considerably
more difficult for me to concisely compile all of my
work in a presentable and efficient format, ready for
display. Not only does it provide a neat storing space
for any under production or completed work, but it also
makes my work far more presentable. My access to
blogger also works similarly to PowerPoint online, as
assuming I had access to the internet I was able to
access my work from anywhere. It is also convenient as
having to have physical copies of my work would have
been considerably more expensive and harder to work
with.
11. Wix is the platform on which I designed my website.
My access to the various templates in which I was able
to edit and customise to my own preference made the
use of this platform much more efficient over
something such as photoshop as I essentially had a
framework to work within from the beginning. The
simplicity behind this online and access anywhere
platform also made it easy for me to adapt this
template to my house style, and to maintain that
continuity of font, style and colour scheme across all
media platforms. It also meant I could fit my work
criteria of including two hyperlinked pages, the home
page to my website and the features page.
13. The use of outlook follows on from Facebook
messenger, which has allowed me to contact any
members of my focus group who do not have immediate
access to Facebook messenger (primarily older
members of my focus group who were not members of
Facebook). The use of these platforms is much more
efficient and cheaper than the use of more traditional
methods of communication, such as letters, or
travelling to communicate face to face (face to face
communication would have required large group meet
ups at regular intervals, and is logistically very
difficult and expensive).
15. Photoshop has been an essential tool in producing the
first and final drafts of my products themselves. I have
used Photoshop for Photo manipulation and design,
allowing me to edit images, place text, change colours
and piece together all of the pages for my magazine as
well as the billboard. Photoshop provides the user with
many tools in which can be used efficiently to create
the product desired. Without my access to the
renowned software, I would have had to use a cheaper,
less efficient piece of software that could have easily
resulted in a product of significantly worse quality. The
ease of access and use of Photoshop has meant I have
very easily been able to add in and change things based
upon the recommendations of my focus group.
17. I have use the EOS 400D Canon camera in order to take
the best quality photographs for all stages of my
production. Every image that appears throughout my
coursework is an original image, and without the use of a
higher quality camera I would have ended up with much
poorer quality images, which would have resulted in a
much poorer quality production, especially due to my
productions heavy reliance on imagery. Without having
personally owned the camera, the process of taking
photographs may have taken much longer. The digital
nature of the camera also meant that I could plug it into
any available computer and put the images straight on.
This is also much more efficient that attempting to get
images off of a mobile phone for example. The camera was
used more specifically during the planning stages of my
coursework, however anything later than the planning
stage (production and evaluation) would have been
hindered, if not impossible had I not had access to a
camera.
19. Obviously one of the most important pieces of
hardware at my disposal throughout the production of
the coursework was a computer. Without constant
access to a computer, whether this be in the sixth form
building or at home, it would have been much more
difficult for me to efficiently produce my coursework, as
many of the pieces of software and websites that I have
used such as Wix and Photoshop are primarily only
readily available on PC. If I had to resort to using
something such as a tablet, the process of producing
my work would have been much slower, and more
dispersed across various platforms as not everything
would be stored on a tablet.
21. Without having my own personal USB stick dedicated
to the storage of my coursework files and data, my
work would have been far more dispersed and more
difficult to access, slowing down the process by which
everything was planned and produced. The USB stick
has been used to store all of my data right from the
research stages right up to the evaluation stage. It's
portable nature has also meant I can carry this data
with me wherever I go, allowing me to access and
continue work should I have to go somewhere.
23. My access to the online software SlideShare has
allowed me to merge the work I have produced on
PowerPoint with Blogger, the website that I use to
display my work. The merge of these two software's
through the use of SlideShare not only allows me to
utilise the efficient presentation methods of power
point but allows me to present my work in this way in
a concise manner over blogger. Had I not had access to
SlideShare, I may not have been able to present my
research and planning, and evaluation stages in
PowerPoint as they would not otherwise have been
compatible with Blogger. SlideShare enables my use of
PowerPoint, making my presentation of my work much
neater and much more efficient. Without it my work
would have been less presentable and harder to follow.
