Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. - 1. Jonny Fitzgerald Q6: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT
- 2. BLOGGER Blogger is my most used technology out of everything. It is very useful to share your information via the blog because it is so simple to use and if you use a technology such as slide share you can simply use a hyperlink to get to it. Finally when you need to know what to do or how to improve the work all you have to do is check your teachers comments to see what they have to say.
- 3. TWITTER Twitter is another form of technology I have become very familiar and keen with. Whilst Blogger is a great form of technology it is far more serious and you generally only put work related items on it. Whereas Twitter is a social website where you can include less serious topics and more media related topics which get on the news or award ceremonies etc.
- 4. PREZI Prezi is an innovative and unique way to present information. It is like a blank canvas in which you can write on, use hyperlinks, add YouTube videos & many more things. It gets the information across in a sharp, sophisticated way and allows every technology (e.g. YouTube) to be on there without leaving your Prezi
- 5. CANON 550D One of the most useful pieces of equipment we are using is the canon 550D. This 18 mega pixel camera has been incredibly useful- especially when needing to film. It is high definition, has brilliant zooming and many other things.
- 6. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP Adobe Photoshop is a programme in which you can edit your photos to a professional level managing to manipulate a photo to just the way you want it. We used it for our webpage to brighten the image and involve text. Little things like brightening the image make it far more appealing to the public eye.
- 7. YOUTUBE YouTube is the most visited site in the world. With hundreds of millions visitors everyday it manages to incorporate its way in to our work many times. I find the main use for YouTube is probably how you can watch practically any trailer in the world and comment. With our group obviously being amateur we’d find it hard to get publicity for our film opening but with YouTube you can upload a video free of cost and get far more publicity for it.
- 8. FACEBOOK Facebook is one of the most popular sites in the world with almost 1/6 of the worlds population using Facebook. It is a very important social networking site which is incorporated in to every big film made recently so we had to incorporate it in to ours. So we made a Facebook page with information about everything you need to know and with so many people linked up on Facebook the information is bound to travel quicker that way.
- 9. SLIDESHARE Slideshare is another unique way to spread information effectively. It is very simple to use as all you have to do is make a PowerPoint and just add it as a document and it makes your work look presentable with an sophisticated edge which you don’t get on many of these technologies. We used it for our evaluation question and it came across as one of the most interesting technologies I’ve used so far.
- 10. APPLE MAC Apple Mac is the main computer we have used during the duration of the project. It is probably the most prestigious computer system used. With all adobe programmes, IMovie and many more exclusive programmes it really does make the film a lot easier to make and edit.
