1. Question 4 - How effective is the
combination of your main products
and ancillary texts?

2. When I was devising both my movie poster and my horror magazine cover I
had the Task of establishing a link between the two so that my audience
would be able to make The link I decided that I would do this my have
similar themes on both pieces of work. I did this by have an eye(S) on
both pieces as the main part ; I thought that it would be useful to do so as
it would let my audience know that it was a horror film or magazine
because it showed that someone is always watching you and would have
a scary theme to it

3. When I was devising the name of the of my film I took into consideration
the location in which I would be filming in. The name of my film
‘HOSTAGE’ was adopted because the location that I was set to film my
trailer in was a garage in which I was of the opinion that I would be able
to film it in this location and I would be able to attain the shots that I
wanted as well as have a connection from the poster and the trailer
location.

4. I would say that the combination of my movie poster , movie location as well
as the magazine were all effective this being because it was fairly obvious to
identify the link between all of the movie poster , film magazine and the
location because they all had vast amounts of darkness which is commonly
associated with darkness and evil which would mean that it would be very
much effective in selling itself to the audience as well as leaving them
wanting to know more about the film or see more.

5. I think that my logo was very much effective in the sense that it can be said
that it may be hard to view thus relevant to the horror genre reason being
because it can be said that things may not be clear and may be hard to
view initially in horror films which often adds to the element of surprise
in horror films.

6. I think that the combination of my logo , movie poster as well as the location in
which I set my film were all effective reason being because they all have very
mysterious elements to them of which my audience will be able to make the link
and primarily be aware of the fact that it is a horror film then secondly because it
would convince them to find out more about the film because it would have an
intriguing element in which would interest them.
