We thinkthatour filmwouldneedasmall,independentdistributorbecauseourfilmisasub-genre
so lesspeople are likelytowatchor like the
genre.Ithinkthat the productioncompanythat
wouldpromote ourfilmanddistribute itwould
be “Blumhouse”because thisproduction
companyspecialise inHorrorfilmsandare
involvedindistributingsome bighorrorfilms
alreadye.g.Paranormal Activity,Insidiousandthe Purge andthe fact that thiscompanyhasalready
done horror filmshelpsusbecause the audience canrelate ourfilmtothe otherfilmsorjustwatch
our filmbecause othergoodfilmshave been
distributedbythisfilmcompany. Paranormal
ActivitywasdistributedbyBlumhouseanditisa
verylowbudgetfilm.Thisfilmhadalotof jaw
droppingtrailersandscarytrailersto tease the
audience,also the filmwasmarketedatfilm
festivalsforawhile beforerelease togetpeople
excited.Theyhave alsogottheirownwebsitewhichisagooduse of multimediabecause itthen
makespeople findoutaboutthe plotbefore theywatchthe filmanditmakesthemmore excited
aboutwatchingthe film. Thisisa good ideaandI thinkthat we shoulddothisfor our mediaproduct
because we are on a lowbudgetso we can take advantage of social mediaandthe internetwhen
marketingourmediaproduct.
I thinkthat intermsof cinemas,ourmediaproductwouldbe putina multiplex cinemabecause our
target audience isquite large andcoversbothmalesandfemalessobothgenders wouldwantto
watch our filmandto dothiswe wouldneeda
multiplex cinema.Ialsothinkthatour media
productwouldbe goodto put on somethinglike
Netflix because ourdemographicismalesand
femalesunder35and usuallythatisthe kindof
people thatgoon Netflix the mostandalsoour
target audience isquite mainstreamsomore
people wouldwatchitthisway,especially
because Netflix isreallypopularnow and
everyone hasheardaboutitand youcan evengetfree trials somore andmore people will be joining
so I thinkthiswouldbe a perfectplace todistribute ourmediaproduct.
We wouldmarketourfilmonsocial mediaandon advertsonthe TV on programmeswhere our
demographicwouldsee it.Forexample,frommytarget

interviewedlikedtowatch“Friends”soI wouldputthe
adverton aroundthe time Friendsisonto make sure my
demographicsee it.Asforthe social media,asa lotof
people under35go on it I woulddefinitelyadvertise on
there andmarketour mediaproductbecause itis a quick
and easywayto gain supportandviewers. There are also
manyways inwhichyoucouldmarketon social mediaand
youcan reachout to a lot of people sothiswouldbe a goodwayto get more people towatchit
eitherinthe cinemasoronline.
Paranormal Activityisasimilarfilmtoour filmsoI thinkthatwe shouldfollow whattheydidwhen
marketingbecause somanypeople watchediteventhoughitwasareallylow budgetfilm.Theystill
managedto geta lot of moneyforthe film.Thingslike filmfestivalswouldbe agoodideabecause it
showspeople whatthe filmwill be aboutandteasesthembecause theydonotknow the plottwists
or storyline,Ithinkthisisa reallygoodwayto promote ourfilmbecause thousandsof move fanatics
are goingto be there andwe can getfeedbackfromourmediaproduct. Thiswill alsoallow usto
experimentwithourmediaproductandsee whatpeople like anddislike andfromthatwe can
change our ideas.Thisisalsoa way to be productive andgetacross to a lot of people withlittle
effortratherthan social mediawhichisthe usual waypeople promote films.
Our filmwouldbe quite lowbudgetbecause we don’tneedspecial
effectsoranythingthatwouldcosta lotof money.Ourgenre is
psychological soit’sreallyall mindgamesmeaningwe don’treally
needa huge budgetwhichmeanswe canspendmore moneyon
advertisingtogetpeople towatchourmediaproduct.The Blair
Witch Projectwasa reallysuccessful low budgetfilmwinning15
awardsand beingnominatedfor19. Thisshowsthata bigbudget
doesnotnecessarilymeanyourfilmwill be better,itjustneedstobe
creative andoriginal whichiswhatwe hope forour mediaproduct.
In conclusion,Ithinkthat if we were to distribute ourfilmopeningthenwe woulduse Blumhouse
because itspecialisesinourgenre. Thiswill helpgetthe audience more interestedandmore excited
to see the actual mediaproductbecause Blumhouse have alreadydistributedbighorrorfilmsand
alsothismeansthat we wouldgeta biggeraudience.

I thinkthat intermsof cinemas,ourmediaproductwouldbe putina multiplex cinemabecause our target audience isquite large andcoversbothmalesandfemalessobothgenders wouldwantto watch our filmandto dothiswe wouldneeda multiplex cinema.Ialsothinkthatour media productwouldbe goodto put on somethinglike Netflix because ourdemographicismalesand femalesunder35and usuallythatisthe kindof people thatgoon Netflix the mostandalsoour target audience isquite mainstreamsomore people wouldwatchitthisway,especially because Netflix isreallypopularnow and everyone hasheardaboutitand youcan evengetfree trials somore andmore people will be joining so I thinkthiswouldbe a perfectplace todistribute ourmediaproduct.

Paranormal Activityisasimilarfilmtoour filmsoI thinkthatwe shouldfollow whattheydidwhen marketingbecause somanypeople watchediteventhoughitwasareallylow budgetfilm.Theystill managedto geta lot of moneyforthe film.Thingslike filmfestivalswouldbe agoodideabecause it showspeople whatthe filmwill be aboutandteasesthembecause theydonotknow the plottwists or storyline,Ithinkthisisa reallygoodwayto promote ourfilmbecause thousandsof move fanatics are goingto be there andwe can getfeedbackfromourmediaproduct. Thiswill alsoallow usto experimentwithourmediaproductandsee whatpeople like anddislike andfromthatwe can change our ideas.Thisisalsoa way to be productive andgetacross to a lot of people withlittle effortratherthan social mediawhichisthe usual waypeople promote films. Our filmwouldbe quite lowbudgetbecause we don’tneedspecial effectsoranythingthatwouldcosta lotof money.Ourgenre is psychological soit’sreallyall mindgamesmeaningwe don’treally needa huge budgetwhichmeanswe canspendmore moneyon advertisingtogetpeople towatchourmediaproduct.The Blair Witch Projectwasa reallysuccessful low budgetfilmwinning15 awardsand beingnominatedfor19. Thisshowsthata bigbudget doesnotnecessarilymeanyourfilmwill be better,itjustneedstobe creative andoriginal whichiswhatwe hope forour mediaproduct. In conclusion,Ithinkthat if we were to distribute ourfilmopeningthenwe woulduse Blumhouse because itspecialisesinourgenre. Thiswill helpgetthe audience more interestedandmore excited to see the actual mediaproductbecause Blumhouse have alreadydistributedbighorrorfilmsand alsothismeansthat we wouldgeta biggeraudience.
