Studio Canal was chosen to distribute the sci-fi film because it has the highest number of sci-fi films distributed and a well-known name, and its logo could be easily customized for the opening sequence. A distribution company markets the film by selling it to cinemas and on DVD, and promotes the film using billboards, TV, and other media to get as many viewers as possible. Studio Canal was selected over Lionsgate and Universal because its other films were a better genre fit and would be more open to distributing a film following similar conventions.
