Film 4 would be a suitable distributor for the media product. As a low-budget British film, Film 4 would be a good fit as they commonly distribute similar independent and low-budget British films. Film 4 also focuses on films that have meaningful stories and address real societal issues, which applies to the media product's focus on drug use. While other distributors like DNA Films and Vertigo Films could also be options, Film 4 was selected due to its history of supporting British filmmakers and preference for films that provide insight.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

1. What kind of media institution
might distribute your media product
and why?
Emily Zdravkovic
2. Film distribution
Film distribution is when an independent
company produces a film with a intention to
be shown to an audience. There are
processes that film distributors have to carry
out and complete before being able to
release a film. It involves marketing and
circulation, Ensuring that people know about
the new release before its out there. The
three main things that you need to consider
are;
• Marketing
• Star Power in cast
• Competition between films
3. Different media institutions
There are many different media institutions that could
distribute my media product but I have had to take time to
think about which one and why. This is because different media
institutions distribute different media products depending on
their budget, the kind of film and where it is from.
Here are a number of possible distributors:

5. Film 4 is owned by channel 4 and they holds an extra
channel on TV dedicated to films. They show a range of
films that they produce. They may decide to distribute my
media product. Film 4 commonly distribute low budget
independent British films but they also distribute the
occasional big spend from other countries.
Film 4 have distributed many well known films including
• Slumdog Millionaire
• 12 Years A Slave
• 127 Hours
• Submarine
Their releases tend to be informative and have a deep
thought behind the storyline.
Chosen distributor
6. Why?
• I decided to use film 4 as they
focus on releasing low budget
films, my media product is low
budget as I don't have the
funding for it to be any
different.
• It is also a British film and they
favour these because they feel
that they should support the
film makers within their own
country, so this media product
may be popular with this
distribution company because
of this.
• Film 4s releases usually tend
to be informative to the
audience. In my media
products case there is a huge
focus on drug use and
violence to do with this drug
use. Throughout the film it is
looked down upon and shows
effects of the drug. They are
usually films based on
something that could happen
in real life and my opening
sequence to my film is quite
realistic.
7. Other similar distributors?
