Fast Pasted Raj

Clock

Both examples here are taken from
our teaser trailer.
They both show the theme of time
and therefore are signs to the
audience that this will come up in the
forthcoming plot.
The still ticking clock is a sign to
show how time stands still for Raj
and then is reinforced as the clock
uses a graphic match into Raj’s eye
showing that he is linked with the
idea of time.
The idea of positioning layers on top
of each other in a slightly different
position is meant to be a code to
show time is passing but again Raj is
still the same.
This gives the clip a disjointed
blurred effect which has then
connotation of change.
Blurred Lines
We decided to use the
sign of blurred lines/
Motion blur in both our
poster and magazine.
This again is meant to
signify how everything is
changing and time is
passing around him but
he stays still, never
changing, relating again
to the plot. An also
connoting Action.

We tried to recreate the blurred lines in our
trailer by having Raj stand still and then speed it
up with everyone walking past him. However we
found we weren't able to speed it up fast enough
to make the people look blurred

To help build on the
films brand we decided
to use the same front
throughout each
element of the
campaign. We used the
font Century Gothic.
This is to help the
audience recognise the
film and make it stick in
their minds making
them want to go watch
it.

Titles
Slogan / Tag Line
Going hand in hand with the
title being consistent this
meant that the films Tag Line/
Slogan would have to be too.
We Chose the line “Would you
live forever?” As the question
forced the idea that the plot
would consist of perhaps the
main character living forever.
However as it is a question it
creates an enigma in the film
as we now question whether it
is of choice.

In every element of the campaign again we use the sign of Raj to create a recognisable
brand. The audience will recognise his face/character and therefore link it with the campaign.
This also meant we had to focus on the mise-en-scene of costume making sure his “look”
was consistent and the audience were able to realise him as being the same character. We
stuck to a black theme also linking with the sad like genre and plot of the film.

  • 1. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary text? Q2

  • 3. Theme of time! Press Play Fast Pasted Raj Clock Both examples here are taken from our teaser trailer. They both show the theme of time and therefore are signs to the audience that this will come up in the forthcoming plot. The still ticking clock is a sign to show how time stands still for Raj and then is reinforced as the clock uses a graphic match into Raj’s eye showing that he is linked with the idea of time. The idea of positioning layers on top of each other in a slightly different position is meant to be a code to show time is passing but again Raj is still the same. This gives the clip a disjointed blurred effect which has then connotation of change.
  • 4. Blurred Lines We decided to use the sign of blurred lines/ Motion blur in both our poster and magazine. This again is meant to signify how everything is changing and time is passing around him but he stays still, never changing, relating again to the plot. An also connoting Action. We tried to recreate the blurred lines in our trailer by having Raj stand still and then speed it up with everyone walking past him. However we found we weren't able to speed it up fast enough to make the people look blurred
  • 5. Poster Press Play Magazine To help build on the films brand we decided to use the same front throughout each element of the campaign. We used the font Century Gothic. This is to help the audience recognise the film and make it stick in their minds making them want to go watch it. Teaser Titles
  • 6. Slogan / Tag Line Going hand in hand with the title being consistent this meant that the films Tag Line/ Slogan would have to be too. We Chose the line “Would you live forever?” As the question forced the idea that the plot would consist of perhaps the main character living forever. However as it is a question it creates an enigma in the film as we now question whether it is of choice.
  • 7. Main Character (Raj) & Costume Magazine Poster Teaser In every element of the campaign again we use the sign of Raj to create a recognisable brand. The audience will recognise his face/character and therefore link it with the campaign. This also meant we had to focus on the mise-en-scene of costume making sure his “look” was consistent and the audience were able to realise him as being the same character. We stuck to a black theme also linking with the sad like genre and plot of the film.
