The document discusses improving integration between Quantum, Nova, and the Dashboard to provide a unified networking orchestration experience for tenants and administrators. Key points include leveraging the Dashboard as an orchestrating entity to create networks and subnets, de-coupling network information from Nova, and a future "SysPanel" interface for cloud administrators to manage all Quantum network resources.
High Performance Magnolia with Anycast Routingbkraft
Anycast Routing is an industry best practice to give servers the highest possible uptime, but that's only the network part. Magnolia CMS easily manages to synchronize multiple server nodes when publishing content. That's the content part. We at MiroNet bring the content and the network together and want to talk about our experiences on "The Internet" (literally) with Magnolia and Anycast Routing.
NFV promises to do to carrier networks what Cloud has done to enterprise computing. NFV has been a part of CloudStack in order to scale and perform effectively. This presentation gives an overview of how and why NFV is used in CloudStack. This was presented at the NFV and SDN Summit on March 20, 2014 in Paris
After a successful Ruby Meetup in June, Amura hosted PunesRuby's Meetup for the month of November '15. We had our very own team members give some really awesome talks about Ruby and technology in general.

OpenNebulaConf2019 - Building Virtual Environments for Security Analyses of C...OpenNebula Project
Computer networks are undergoing a phenomenal growth, driven by the rapidly increasing number of nodes constituting the networks. At the same time, the number of security threats on Internet and intranet networks is constantly increasing, and the testing and experimentation of cyber defense solutions require the availability of separate, test environments that best reflect the complexity of a real system. Such environments support the deployment and monitoring of complex mission-driven network scenarios, and cyber security training activities, thus enabling enterprises to study cyber defense strategies and allowing security researchers to evaluate their algorithms at scale.
The main objective is delivering to researchers and practitioners an overview of the technological means and the practical steps to setup a private cloud platform based on OpenNebula for the creation and management of virtual environments that support cyber-security activities of training and testing, as well as an overview of its possible applications in the cyber security domain.
In particular:
1. We describe our infrastructure based on OpenNebula
2. We overview our application, sitting on top of OpenNebula, as well as the technological tools involved in the management of its lifecycle (e.g., Ansible) .
3. We show how the platform can support various examples of security research activities

Akanda: Open Source, Production-Ready Network Virtualization for OpenStackJonathan LaCour
DreamHost has been working on our OpenStack Public Cloud, DreamCompute, for several years. At the onset of the project, we set out with an aggressive set of requirements for our networking functionality, including L2 tenant isolation, IPv6 support from the ground up, and complete support for the then emerging OpenStack Neutron APIs. Our search ended with the realization that there was a gap in OpenStack SDN for L3+ services. Thus, the Akanda project was born.
Akanda is an open source suite of software, services, orchestration, and tools for providing L3+ services in OpenStack. It builds on top of Linux, iptables, and OpenStack Neutron, and is used in production to power DreamCompute's networking capabilities. Using Akanda, an OpenStack provider can provide tenants with a rich, powerful set of L3+ services, including routing, port forwarding, firewalling, and more. This talk will give an introduction to the Akanda project, review the DreamCompute use case, and illustrate how Akanda works under the hood. In addition, we'll discuss future capabilities, operational challenges and tips, and more.

Akamai Technologies’ CDN platform is a complex, highly-integrated distributed system consisting of over 200,000 servers in over 120 countries.. Processing over 3 Trillion web requests per day, the Akamai platform regularly serves over 30Tbps of traffic to end users around the world. Setup and maintenance of Akamai integration test environments involves a significant investment of hardware, time and subject matter expertise. As a result, these environments are a scarce resource. Using Opennebula, Akamai has developed a system for saving and cloning multi-node integration test environments on-demand. The system is succeeding and has the potential to revolutionize Akamai’s approach to software development and testing. After exploring Akamai’s platform architecture and testing challenges, we will describe the key innovations that enabled the Vtastic solution, challenges we faced in implementing a reliable system, and future capabilities the system can offer.

OpenStack and OpenContrail for FreeBSD platform by Michał Dubieleurobsdcon
Abstract
OpenStack and OpenContrail network virtualization solution form a complete suite able to successfully handle orchestration of resources and services of a contemporary cloud installations. These projects, however, have been only available for Linux hosted platforms by now. This talk is about a work underway that brings them into the FreeBSD world.
It explains in greater details an architecture of an OpenStack system and shows how support for the FreeBSD bhyve hypervisor was brought up using the libvirt library. Details of the OpenContrail network virtualization solution is also provided, with special emphasis on the lower level system entities like a vRouter kernel module, which required most of the work while developing the FreeBSD version.

Secure Multi Tenant Cloud with OpenContrailPriti Desai
Building a secure multi-tenant cloud necessitates proper tenant isolation and access control. Key network and security functions must scale independently based on the dynamic resource requirements across each tenant. Additionally, On-demand and self-service provisioning are required for achieving operational efficiencies. Robust, dynamic and elastic software abstractions are imperative to support applications built to run such complex environments.
This slide deck covers:
• Architectural design choices
• Implementation blueprints
• Operational best practices
that have been made to build OpenStack cloud at Symantec.

Then welcome to this PowSyBl workshop, hosted by Rte, the French Transmission System Operator (TSO)!
During the webinar, you will discover the PowSyBl ecosystem as well as handle and study an electrical network through an interactive Python notebook.
PowSyBl is an open source project hosted by LF Energy, which offers a comprehensive set of features for electrical grid modelling and simulation. Among other advanced features, PowSyBl provides:
- A fully editable and extendable library for grid component modelling;
- Visualization tools to display your network;
- Grid simulation tools, such as power flows, security analyses (with or without remedial actions) and sensitivity analyses;
The framework is mostly written in Java, with a Python binding so that Python developers can access PowSyBl functionalities as well.
What you will learn during the webinar:
- For beginners: discover PowSyBl's functionalities through a quick general presentation and the notebook, without needing any expert coding skills;
- For advanced developers: master the skills to efficiently apply PowSyBl functionalities to your real-world scenarios.
"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
