I. Background of the Company / Company Profile
The Professional Regulation Commission is the responsible for the
administration, implementation and enforcement of regulation and licensing of
various professions and occupations under jurisdictions. It is the instrument of the
Filipino people in securing for the nation a reliable, trustworthy, and progressive
system developing professionals whose personal integrity and spiritual values are
solid and respected, whose competencies are globally competitive, and whose
commitment to serve the Filipino nation and the whole community is strong
steadfast.
II. Practicum Program
As an Intern in the Government company I should be at the office before
8am in the morning until 5pm in the afternoon, I am assigned to the Finance and
Administrative Division (FAD), I was the one collecting those payments of the
clients and giving it to the cashier at the same I was the one who’s taping the
overall receipts of that day.
Sometimes I’m assigned to the Public Assistance and Complaint Desk
(PACD), to assist clients on their transactions and for their requirements.
III. Technical and Soft Skills Learned
I learned to be patient and work under pressure, I learned how to handle
mad and hard headed clients, So, my internship was in a part of Government, So
we must be early and learn how to manage our time especially in the morning
and lunch because it’s NO NOON BREAK POLICY, I learned how they process the
requirements on some client’s transaction. These are some of my
accomplishments, Conducted internal audit of daily cash collections per Cash
Collecting Officer by validating official receipts and system generated cash
reports, Batching of Official Receipts by 50’s properly labelled daily batch of
official receipts per Cash Collecting Officers, Render assistance to care lane
clients until the end of their transaction, Assisted distribution of counter forms for
clients in queue, Dispense forms and assists clients on their requirements as
necessary. etc. I should render 325 hours but I already finished 334 hours.
IV. Recommendations for further improvement of the Company’s Internship
Program.(if any)
The employees in the PRC are nice and approachable, please do have a
daily allowance, Since it’s a part of a Government, let the interns enjoy their
work more by giving them allowance and PRC really needs a lot Interns because
they are lack of employees.
V. Advise to future interns
To the future interns in PRC, my advice is you need to have patience and
wear your smile always even if you’re already tired, be professional in handling
angry clients or demanding clients, be in the office on time because time
matters there. Always listen to the instructions that may give to you and Keep in
mind that you chose a public service internship so you have to embrace it and
enjoy every moment of it.
