I. Background of the Company / Company Profile
The Professional Regulation Commission otherwise known as the PRC. It is
a three-man commission attached to Department of Labor and Employment
(DOLE).
It’s mandated is to regulate and supervise the practice of the
professionals (except for the lawyers who handled by the Supreme Court of the
Philippines) who constitute the highly skilled man power of the country. As
agency-in-charge of the professional sector, the PRC plays a strategic role in
developing the corps of professionals for industry, commerce, governance, and
the economy
II. Practicum Program
The following are the function and respnsibilities given to us as interns by
our supervisors.
ICT and Records Section - Assisting client with their needs. Preparing those
documents like for their board of ratings certificate, board of passing certificate
and also to process their papers going to Department of Foreign Affairs Manila
for red ribbon purposes if they want to apply abroad. We are also manipulating
some of the computers of PRC like changing some batteries in the cpu and
burning.
III. Technical and Soft Skills Learned
From the first day that I came to Professional Regulation Commission
Office (PRC) I have learned to listen first before you react or before you do the
task given to you. For example, in my first day in PRC my supervisor teach me
how to entertain our clients. You should smile and greet them like good morning
ma’am or sir then ask them what they need. From that day I have realized that
as an intern is not easy maybe because I’m stil a student knowing new
experience but then I suddenly enjoyed every moment in the office or I our work
place. In the beginning it is hard to communicate with other people in the work
place because you don’t know what they are but then I have tried to talk to
them and make friends and until now we are still friends.
Securing that the Computers of every Sections are stable and okay. For
example, repair computer desktops and laptops, rebooting and installing new
operating systems, configuring every computers to have their internet
connections and especially change the batteries of the computers.
IV. Recommendations for further improvement of the Company’s Internship
Program.(if any)
As intern one of the good recommendation is that if the IT employees of
the government will have a seminar that involves technology, it would be a
good opportunity for you to be with. Ask them if you can join that seminars and
also tell them that you are interested for them to think that you’re very interested.
V. Advise to future interns
I advise to the future interns in Professional Regulation Commission that
you should be:
- Prepare yourself always
- Do your best
- Always wear your smile
- Don’t tell your secrets to anyone
- Just enjoy every moment in your work place
Note:
** NOTE that your output will be a basis of your class standing for your final grade.
Observe proper format. Check your grammar and spelling. Expound on your
sentences and be accurate. Attach relevant documents if necessary.
