Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Q6 Technology
1. Q6: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
2. Q6: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES
FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
In the process of making my radio, I have learnt that without technology I
wouldn’t have been able to do many of my tasks in order to complete the
radio. Audacity has been used frequently whilst finishing my story. It has
played a major role because, without it I wouldn’t have been able to
cut, edit and paste or use any special effects in order to make my radio
successful. After using audacity I found out that this type of technology is
a simple and quick method as it saves plenty of time if I want to edit, cut
etc.
3. Q6: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES
FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
Another technology I used when constructing my radio is BlogSpot. Blogging is a new
method I used to present research, planning etc. Also using BlogSpot it enables me to
quickly upload any research I have made allowing my teacher to see the progress I have
made or any changes. I can easily edit or change any blogs if I needed to. This has helped
me because I frequently add new ideas and research and all I need to do is add them in a
recent blog which the information is relevant in. Blogging helps me to see how my work
has improved from the beginning until now. Overall Blogging is a clear way for me to
present my work in a professional way. This has kept my work safe and saved as I can just
blog my ideas and research on the internet without any hassle. This technology is very
useful and efficient and easy to use by many people when presenting their work and
ideas. Using these technologies it has saved a lot of time writing and rewriting as this
type of technology allows me to upload videos, presentations and much more.
4. Q6: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM
THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
Slideshare is another technology I have recently started using. It is a presentation software
website and I have started using it as it is a good way of presenting my ideas through
PowerPoint and updating it both on BlogSpot and Slideshare enabling people to see. By
converting PowerPoint presentations to slideshare the document is smaller on window and it
is easy to share online because all you have to do is copy the embed code.
Throughout the process I have used my phone camera and also a recording device. This
enabled me to video record my groups presentation via phone camera. This is a technology
that is portable and accessible. Using this device it allows me to upload my work on my
computer and edit if needed. Furthermore I have used repeatedly a digital voice recorder. This
enabled me to record my story for the radio, and after if I needed to edit anything I could
simply open it in audacity and do what I need to do to improve it. Using these devices I have
learnt that there are many ways of presenting ideas whether it is through word documents,
audacity or simply a visual recording. Whilst using these technologies I learnt that using
devices like this allows me to keep my work safe and also allow people to access it by
uploading it on BlogSpot or any slideshare.
5. Q6: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES
FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
How far has technology come?
Technology has advanced from before until now in the 21st Century.
Technology has improved from the olden time till now. Before editing was
done very precisely and you had to be accurate as it was done all by hand
and a little knife but now in the 21st century editing is done via computer
and if any mistakes were made all you had to do is press one button and it
will be undone. Before technologies used to be big and made it extremely
hard for people to move a device from one place to another now
technologies have gone smaller and much advanced as it is portable due
to it’s size. A 21st century mobile phone is much better because you can do
many things to it such as, take pictures, access the internet, record, listen
to the radio, watch films online etc. The future holds more advanced
technology improving what a person can do and how they can access
something.
