CREATE A TASK USING A WEB TOOL.
One of the mostwonderful websitesabouthow touse webtoolsintoeducationis ARTEFACTOS
DIGITALES. It was created by Conecta 13. In this website you could easily check what different
toolsyouhave to create a taskwithyour students.
For example,imagineyouwanttorecordyoustudentstellingastory. Thisiscalledapodcast,so
there youhave the differentlinksyouhavetodifferentwebitestocreate forfree,alsoyouhave
some goodpractisesyouhave asanexampleandsometimesavideotutorialtohelpyoutowork
withthe tool.
Inthistaskwe wantyoutocreate amini taskforyourunitplanusingone webtool.The following
chart wouldbe helpful foryoutodo it.

 Understandthe powerof advertisingforselling
 Designan advertisementscriptforTV
 Act out the advertisement,tobe recordedonvideo
 Learn howto findtheiradvertisementinyoutube
DESCRIPTION OF THE TASK: (What are they going to do? How are you going to organize
them?Steps to followand final product)
ThisactivityisfollowinganotheractivityIalreadyexplainedin Module 3,wherechildrenwere
shown two ads (one poster and one video) to understand the power of advertising,before
doingan activityaboutresponsible consuming.
In this activity the teacher will show the ads again, and will ask the children to create their
own advertisement with their group (each group should have 4 students, in fact we could
maintainthe groupsof the previousactivity).So,firsttheyhavetodecidewhatproductitwill
be about, then, what information they want to give about it (description onlyor something
emotional) andhowtheywantto act it out,to be recordedona video.Theywill writedown
what theywill sayand a kindof script of the video(the teacherwill give themaguidelineto
followforthat).
Whenall the groupsare ready,the teacherwill recordthe childrenanduploadthe advideos
on Youtube. I normally use the App Movie Edit Touch on my Tablet to edit the videos if
needed.It’safree App.
Inthe followingsession,the teacherwillshow thechildrenall thevideosandshow themhow
to findthe link,tocopyit and be able to show the videoathome.The teachercan alsoshow
themhowto findthe videosearchingforitstitle.

Tutorial about the web tool.
I don’t think Youtube needs a lot of explanation. I’ve used and editor that is not in
ARTEFACTOS DIGITALES, because the one that is suggested there for videos must be paid,
and I’musedto findfree appstowork withcontentmystudentsproduce.
I also wanted to justify that my students aren’t really using the web tools in this activity,
because I think in Grade 3 they are still very young to use computers and web tools in this
kindof upperlevel.Myexperience isthatyoucan beginusingthatkindof toolswiththemin
Grade 5 or 6 and with a lot of help. Before that, I like to show them what can be done with
the “content”they produce in class,because theylove it and because I thinkit’s motivating
themfor the future.
