The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product ?.
2. Digital Camera
• The use of
technology has
helped me a great
deal to produce my
work at all stages.
The digital camera
used for my images
was high quality
and allowed me to
take photo's easily,
as well
as transferring thos
e images onto a
computer where I
could then select
the best photos.
3. Internet/Photocopying
• I was also able to put my drafts onto my
blog through photocopying, allowing me
to keep on track and refer back to my
drafts easily when need be.
• At a research level, from the ability of
the internet, I was able to carry out
detailed initial research, the was the
starting basis of collecting very useful
information. The internet helped me find
magazine cover that would not have
been available to me through hard copy
editions, it also allowed me to collect
quick and useful information.
4. Blogging.
• Blogging the whole process of
the project helped immensely.
It allowed me to keep all my
work in one place, without
messing with a lot of paper
work. It also allowed me to
keep track of important
information, such as locations
of shots, and more
importantly, time
management, where I could
look at what I had done and
what needed to be done.
Blogger.com is a very useful
site where my work can be
neatly and easily presented
and also benefited me in
keeping everything in order.
5. Adobe Photoshop
Adobe photoshop was very important at a
production level. I produced both my cover
and my contents page on the software. I
could easily move images into the right
position, as well as text. Image
manipulation was key at production level.
In photo shop I edited small images with a
black and white effect, and more
importantly the double page spread
background was manipulated (Using a
cutout effect) that made the background of
scooters very authentic and reminiscent of
currently available scooter canvas’ that are
proving to be popular. I was able to achieve
an appropriate cover and contents thanks
to Photoshop, professional software that in
turn gave my product a professional look.
6. In Design.
Adobe inDesign was also a very helpful part of
technology. I produced my double-page-spread
in inDesign. I was able to use effects such as
eye dropper to get rid of colour clashes
between the text and the background image
that allowed me to place the text where I
wanted. I also manipulated the shape of
images, and changed the fitting so I was able Eye drop tool – Removing
to wrap text around the image creating a very background obstacles.
artistic and also professional effect. The whole
software was easy to use and I was able to
move things around, and also create stylistic
mod targets for the page number border.
Overall, inDesign helped me create my double
page spread easily, for which, again using
technology, I was able to print out and also
convert into an image to place on my blog.
8. Technology in evaluation.
Technology has helped also in my
evaluation. I have used both
slideshare and Prezi to show
presentations of certain
aspects of the evaluating
process. This has allowed me
to effectively show my
findings and assumptions on
the work, in a way that uses
interaction so you can really
get to grips with the
evaluating process. Through
technology I was also able to
show audience feedback
which is key in showing how
effective the magazine was
overall.
9. Technology summary.
Overall, technology has proved essential. I
have been able to easily organize my work into
one place, have been able to carry out
research, show work on platform such as
images, video and presentations and blogging
has allowed me to effectively show my work.
Through all stages technology has effectively
guided me through the process
