The student used various media technologies at different stages of their project. In the planning stage, they researched horror film trailers like "The Blair Witch Project" on YouTube to inform their own trailer. They used a Canon camcorder and boom microphone to film outdoor scenes for their trailer. Adobe Premiere Elements was used to edit the trailer footage and add clips and sound. Photoshop was utilized to design an ancillary magazine, allowing images and text to be layered. An Olympus camera captured pictures for the magazine, and enabled black effects around the images. Different media like PowerPoint presentations, voice recordings, and videos were created for the evaluation using technologies like the internet and memory sticks.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.

Evaluation Question 4
1. How did you use media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages? Evaluation Question 4
2. I used the internet a great deal when researching and planning my trailer. I looked at ‘The Blair Witch project’ in great detail on YouTube This is an example of an idea I took from ‘The Blair Witch project’ and interpreted into my own work
3. Blair Witch My Trailer Access to the internet allowed me to extend my research and look at professional trailers of horror films like ‘The Blair Witch project’ and find out exactly what I wanted my trailer to look like. I looked at a number of trailers for horror films such as ‘The strangers’, ‘House of wax’ etc. to find the typical features found in horror film trailers, enabling me to include these in my own.
4. The technology I used whilst creating my trailer was a Canon FS200 camcorder and a boom for the sound. This camera was perfect for me as the film is ‘self filmed’ it was small and easy to carry in this situation The boom was extremely useful considering we were filming outside, it was needed to pick up the sound which was difficult with background noise that we could not control such as cars We had to be careful not to let the boom be seen in any camera shots
5. Link to construction on my blog I used Abdobe Premiere Elements to construct my film trailer. It provides a number of features that were extremely useful to me. It enabled me to split clips from sound Add clip in and change their placing along the film line I could also zoom in and out enabling me to split smaller clips easier
6. I used the internet and magazines as types of media form of researching for my ancillary tasks. I could find what features of professional magazines I would include on my own This magazine influenced my decision to use a reasonably close up picture as apposed to a full body image Link to Magazine Research
7. I used Abdobe Photoshop CS4 to create the ancillary tasks It offers many useful features and a variety of texts that were extremely useful to me when creating the magazine especially I was also able to insert images on ‘Layers’ onto the background, this was useful when adding the barcode to the picture I used an Olympus 12 megapixel camera to take the pictures of Georgia. This advanced technology is what enabled me to create the black effect around the images This also allowed me to look at what a picture would look like enhanced while i was taking them which meant that if i did not like it i was able to take another straight away Link to Magazine making process
8. For my evaluation I used a number of different media technologies in order to create different ways of answering the evaluation questions to writing a simple essay. I have created power point presentations and then used the internet to upload them to my blog. I have also created voice clips using a sound recorder and then used a memory stick to get them onto the computer. I have also created videos, I thought that these were more interesting than writing the answers out, especially powerpoints because they can include screen shots of examples, explaining my answers a bit better.
