attract/address
your audience?

2. Before producing my music magazine, I carried
out some audience research. I produced a
questionnaire and asked 15 people from my
target audience to fill it in.

3. I studied these results, and was able to make my
decisions through the results. This helped me
to appeal to my audience better and appeal to
my audiences needs. For example, from my
research, I could see that my audience as well
as interviews, wanted to read gig reviews and
that the most popular artist at the moment is
Arctic Monkeys.

4. From this I introduced an interview from the arctic monkeys
into my magazine and added a regular gig review article.

5. I also used my front cover to appeal to my target audience. On my front cover, the boy on my image
reflects the look of my target audience. He is an indie looking boy with curly hair and dressed in an
indie style. He represents indie because he is in a similar fashion as the indie genre and is looking
directly into the camera to entice my audience. I used the colour red through out my magazine
which connotes fierce, and stands out which I think is what the genre indie is all about.

6. All of the feature articles in my music magazine also are all indie related
stories. Each band or artist is from the genre of indie. Also I have articles
on Zane Lowe and Fearne Cotton. These are iconic figures in the indie
music world.

7. The band I interviewed for my double page spread, are
also an indie music based band. Their attitude and
personality reflect the style of indie music.
