2. FONT
Firstly I attracted the audience by carefully choosing my fonts for my magazine.
I used Bernard MT Condensed for my masthead and made
I used the font Gill Sans Ultra Bold for my cover lines on my cover page.
I used Eras Bold ITC for my skyline.
I used Rockwell extra bold for the title of my contents page.
I used Gill sans ultra bold for my cover lines of my cover page.
I Gill sans ultra bold contents for my subheadings of my contents page.
I used Candara for the text below each contents text for my contents page.
I used minion pro for the different page numbers, social media and the text
above the contents page title.
I used gill sans ultra bold for the title, pull quotes and social media of the dps
I used lao ui for the subheadings in by dps
I used arial for the content of the dps.
I used minion pro for the exclusive tracks on our website text.
I used these fonts as they are all very clear to see on the magazine. As well as
that they go well with each aspect of the magazine.
3. Colour Scheme
I tried to stick to a three colour scheme for my whole magazine. I
used a three colour scheme of black, red and white. I used this 3
colour scheme to make amplitude stand out and for the audience
to remember the magazine more. The audience feedback: “ your
colour scheme is good, it stands out”. This is similar to my case study
NME as it has the same colour scheme.
4. Journalism
I addressed my audience by having a largely formal piece of
journalism for my DPS. I summarised my cover star’s life story to
attract the audience. Additionally the audience would be
interested in how he has become the star that he is today. I didn’t
include any swear words as I wanted to keep this first issue
professional for my audience. The audience feedback was good
“your article was fun to read”, “it is suitable for teenagers and it was
an easy read”
5. Social Media
This aspect of my magazine is very important to grab the audiences
attention. I have used social media in the contents page for
Amplified and also in the DPS for the cover star. My target audience
is relatively young and so social media is important to them so they
can contact and or view my magazine in many ways from the
website to twitter. “I liked the fact that you added the cover stars
social media names”. This is also important distribution wise so they
can share the magazine to others e.g. retweeting it on twitter
6. Competitions
I added competitions to my audience to attract them more. The
competitions were win tickets to imagine dragons concert, win a
new cd of your choice, win a Marshall amp. I stayed within my
genre of rock for the competitions.
