2. Introduction
In this Power Point I will be looking be at the
different types of texts and images which I have
used in my front cover,contents page and
double page spread
3. Front Cover
For my front cover I followed much of the conventional techniques which are seen in
typical music magazines follow for example i put my headings at the bottom of the
front cover and used a text style which stood out more in the background so it
becomes more appealing to my target audience, I also placed my other articles on the
side of my picture so it followed the same styles in a typical magazine. Unlike a normal
music magazine i placed my picture in the middle and didn’t put it into full size of the
magazine as I felt that it didn’t work well as a whole with the picture at full size. Also i
used the text style of Jagger SF to represent my band as looking through the text
styles in my Photoshop it allowed me to see that Jagger SF was the best text for me
this is because of the fact that Jagger SF looks more of a pop type of text than any
other text styles such as Algerian which is more suited to the rock genre
4. Contents Page
For my contents page i followed many of the conventional techniques which are in a
music magazine for example putting the contents page in the middle. Although I
moved all of my articles about the other bands around the middle I did this because
unlike other music magazines I thought it looked better and meant that i was overall
able to use more space up. For my contents page I used different text styles which i
think better represented the bands which i used for example the text style Algerian for
Pandora’s box and Jagger SF for W.I.L.D this enabled me to show of the bands
personalities and the differences within each bands.
5. Double Page Spread
For my double page spread I followed some of the conventions in which is used for
example i put my interviews in columns and writing it in a question and answer format i
also used a quote which would help people reading my magazine know what the
interview was about. I also included a who’s who of my band I did this so that people
would know who was in my band and that they would be able to suit the person with
the profiles in which I published earlier. For my double page spread I used the text
style Myriad Pro for my interview this text style is a very simple text style and enables
me to show my magazine in my professional manner and make I more appealing also
I used the colour white for my interview text this was because it was the only colour
that I wanted to use to make my interview and it makes my magazine stand out.
