How
  did
  you
  a*ract/address

your
  audience?

Colour

I
  used
  colours
  that
  would
  stereotypically
  be

thought
  of
  as
  male
  colours
  such
  as
  blue
  and

brown.
  I
  used
  this
  because
  if
  I
  had
  used
  a

colour
  such
  as
  pink
  or
  purple
  it
  wouldn’t

really
  get
  the
  readers
  a*en?on
  because

there
  not
  the
  colours
  specified
  for
  men.
  The

colour
  in
  the
  magazine
  is
  very
  important

and
  one
  of
  main
  things
  to
  catch
  the
  readers

eye,
  so
  if
  the
  colours
  doesn’t
  fit
  my
  target

audiences
  preferences
  then
  there
  would

not
  be
  many
  of
  my
  magazines
  being
  sold.

Images

For
  my
  images
  on
  the
  front
  cover
  and
  double

page
  spread
  I
  have
  used
  the
  male
  gaze
  theory.

I
  had
  decided
  to
  use
  a
  girl
  as
  a
  main
  feature
  of

the
  magazine,
  so
  I
  have
  used
  images
  of
  her

throughout
  it.
  I
  think
  that
  the
  male
  gaze
  theory

will
  help
  in
  this
  way
  a
  lot
  because
  the
  girl
  is

very
  pre*y
  and
  will
  a*ract
  the
  reader
  to
  the

magazine.
  For
  the
  contents
  page
  I
  have
  added

one
  images
  of
  the
  main
  girl
  as
  she
  is
  the
  main

feature
  of
  the
  magazine
  but
  I
  have
  also
  added

images
  of
  other
  people,
  both
  male
  and
  female,

to
  give
  my
  magazine
  verisimilitude
  as
  real

magazine
  would
  not
  have
  only
  images
  of
  one

person
  throughout.

Language

The
  language
  I
  use
  is
  a
  good
  way
  to
  address
  my
  audience
  because
  it
  is

informa?ve
  and
  uses
  language
  that
  people
  of
  an
  older
  age
  would
  be
  able

to
  understand.
  Because
  my
  magazines
  target
  audience
  is
  of
  an
  older
  age

range
  I'm
  not
  using
  slang
  and
  jargon
  as
  I
  think
  that
  my
  target
  audience

would
  not
  be
  able
  to
  understand
  this
  and
  it
  would
  not
  address
  them

correctly.
  Not
  only
  am
  I
  using
  language
  that
  they
  would
  understand
  but
  I

have
  tried
  to
  include
  words
  that
  keep
  the
  story
  and
  magazine
  in
  whole

interes?ng
  for
  the
  reader.
  I
  always
  think
  that
  the
  images,
  colour
  and

layout
  a*ract
  the
  audience
  to
  the
  magazine
  but
  the
  text
  is
  what
  makes

the
  reader
  want
  to
  buy
  it.

Layout

I
  have
  decided
  that
  the
  layout
  of
  the
  front
  cover
  will
  be
  very

typical
  and
  similar
  to
  other
  magazines
  as
  I
  want
  it
  to
  look

professional,
  but
  s?ll
  make
  it
  stand
  out
  against
  other
  media

products.
  I
  chose
  to
  have

  the
  layout
  like
  this
  also
  because
  I

think
  that
  it
  looks
  neat
  and
  my
  target
  audience
  would
  not
  be

a*racted
  to
  a
  messy
  looking
  magazine.

The
  contents
  page
  I
  thought
  would
  look
  best
  with
  a
  certain

sec?on
  of
  each
  part
  of
  the
  page
  to
  one
  specific
  thing,
  for

example
  I
  decided
  that
  I
  wanted
  the
  right
  hand
  side
  of
  the

page
  to
  have
  images
  down
  it
  and
  the
  top
  would
  obviously

show
  the
  ?tle.

The
  double
  page
  spread
  I
  think
  will
  a*ract
  the
  audience
  a
  lot

because
  compared
  to
  other
  magazines
  double
  page
  spread

my
  one
  shows
  many
  images
  to
  keep
  the
  reader
  interested

whereas
  other
  magazines
  only
  show
  one
  and
  I
  have
  put
  a
  lot

of
  text
  in
  as
  well.
  In
  other
  magazine
  I
  have
  looked
  at
  they

write
  a
  li*le
  bit
  of
  text
  on
  the
  double
  page
  spread.

Overall,
  my
  plan
  for
  the
  layout
  was
  to
  keep
  the
  magazine

neat
  and
  ?dy
  as
  it
  reflects
  my
  target
  audience.

  • 1. How  did  you  a*ract/address   your  audience?
  • 2. Colour     I  used  colours  that  would  stereotypically  be   thought  of  as  male  colours  such  as  blue  and   brown.  I  used  this  because  if  I  had  used  a   colour  such  as  pink  or  purple  it  wouldn’t   really  get  the  readers  a*en?on  because   there  not  the  colours  specified  for  men.  The   colour  in  the  magazine  is  very  important   and  one  of  main  things  to  catch  the  readers   eye,  so  if  the  colours  doesn’t  fit  my  target   audiences  preferences  then  there  would   not  be  many  of  my  magazines  being  sold.

  • 4. Language     The  language  I  use  is  a  good  way  to  address  my  audience  because  it  is   informa?ve  and  uses  language  that  people  of  an  older  age  would  be  able   to  understand.  Because  my  magazines  target  audience  is  of  an  older  age   range  I'm  not  using  slang  and  jargon  as  I  think  that  my  target  audience   would  not  be  able  to  understand  this  and  it  would  not  address  them   correctly.  Not  only  am  I  using  language  that  they  would  understand  but  I   have  tried  to  include  words  that  keep  the  story  and  magazine  in  whole   interes?ng  for  the  reader.  I  always  think  that  the  images,  colour  and   layout  a*ract  the  audience  to  the  magazine  but  the  text  is  what  makes   the  reader  want  to  buy  it.
