The document discusses determining the target audience for a media product and how to attract that audience. A questionnaire found that the primary audience was females aged 16-24 who preferred an exclusive interview on a stylish, colorful magazine cover with a price of £1-3. To target this audience, the creator used a 19-year-old female model on the cover engaging with the reader. Exclusive interviews and coverage of popular music events and locations were included. The magazine was priced at £3 to be profitable while meeting the audience's preferences.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

1. Who would be the audience for your media product?
To gain an insight to who the audience for my product would
be, I set up a questionnaire for people to fill in regarding my
product. The two main aspects that would differ the result of
my product were the gender and age of my audience. The
majority of people who filled out my questionnaire were
females between the ages of 16-24 so this set the main model
for my product. The second step was to find out the specifics
of the magazine including price, content and what would appeal
to them on a front cover. The majority of participants
answered £1-£3, an exclusive interview and a stylish, colourful
front cover. An on location shot was also the preferred shot
for my front cover. The answers to these questions set my
audience for me.
FINAL AUDIENCE:
Female, 16-24, slightly affluent, uses social media platforms, enjoys
viewing exclusive content, prefers a stylish clean-cut magazine,
prefers a print based magazine over and app.
2. How did you address/attract your audience?
The first thing I needed to do in order to cater for this audience was to
have the first thing they see, a model within the range. I used a 19
year old female model with the appearance of someone who fits
into the House Music genre. I chose 19 as I thought it was a good
age in the middle of the bracket- an age both ends of the group can
relate to well. In order to attract them, I made sure that the eye
contact between the model and the consumer was there. I also
featured the content on the front cover which I thought would
appeal most to this audience such as: LA, Creamfields and London.
The next point to cover was exclusive content- I created the
character of Emily Chambers (again a girl who falls into this age
range) a breakthrough House Artist who's first ever interview
would feature in my magazine after her first single become huge in
the music industry. My target audience did however, want to see a
colourful front cover which I chose to stay away from. This is because I wanted to show the history of
the genre more- however I did add different shades of blue to add a pop of colour. I do think, that the
cover does look clean-cut, everything is in it's place and there isn't a busy mass of text over the image
like a few magazines do have. In terms of price, I decided to go with the top end of the bracket at
£3.00. This is based purely of profitable reasons when coming to constructing and distributing my
magazine. I also added social media links on the content page, in order to cater for the audience also.
