Me for My Community
Gabay sa Magulang/Tagapag-alaga
Ang modyul na ito ay isinulat upang gabayan ang inyong mag-aaral na
linangin ang kanyang aspetong personal at sosyal, akademiko, at panglipunan.
Ito ay dinisenyo para sa “distance learning” o alternatibong pamamaraan ng
pagkatuto na hindi nangangailangan ng pisikal na presensya sa paaralan,
bilang tugon sa direktiba na pagkansela ng “face-to-face class” dulot ng
pandemyang COVID-19.
Maaaring may mga pagkakataon na hingin ng inyong mag-aaral ang
inyong patnubay sa pagsunod sa mga tagubilin at pagsagot sa mga tanong sa
bawat bahagi ng mga gawain. Hinihiling ng kagawaran ang inyong suporta
upang matagumpay niyang maisakatuparan ang mga gawaing ito. Ang araling
ito ay makakatulong upang hubugin ang kanyang kabutihan na tanggapin ang
pagkakaiba-iba ng bawat tao sa katangian, kakayahan, damdamin at pananaw.
Tiyakin na sasagutin niya ang bawat bahagi ng modyul nang tapat hangga't
maaari, kapag siya ay sumasagot sa mga gawain at pagtatasa. Siguraduhing
maipapasa niya ang kanyang sagutang papel sa petsa at oras na itinakda ng
kanyang gurong-tagapayo.
Sa bahagi ng “Let’s Try This at Let’s explore this”, bawat miyembro ng
pamilya ay kaagapay ng mag aaral sa pagsagot sa mga gawaing nakatala dito.

in the community. Put your thinking cap on because you will be tasked to identify the needs of
others and your community to be able to share what you can do to address them. Remember,
in your own little ways, you can do great things!
This consists of six interactive activities for you to follow, namely:

Let’s Explore This – which will guide you towards what you need to learn for this module
Keep in Mind – which will give you the lessons that you need to learn and understand
in this module
You Can Do It – which will help you apply the lessons learned in this module into real
life practice

Share Your Thoughts and Feelings – which will help you express your thoughts
and personal point of view in this module.

Learning Objectives

1. recognize the needs of family and community;
2. examine the advantages of helping the family and community; and
3. evaluate the knowledge and skills in solving issues or problems in the family and
community.

Suggested Time Allotment: 120 Minutes (Week 1 and 2 of Q4)
Introduction
Young learners take some initiatives to get involved in community service and helping
other people. It helps in developing empathy and leadership skills and realizing one’s action
that have a positive impact which fuels the passion for learning. As a good citizen, we should
be part of the solution for the betterment of the community.

On a clean sheet of paper, copy the table below.
Ask each family member of some problems they have encountered. Let them
enumerate their problem/s either in the family and /or community.

Keep in Mind
Suggested Time Allotment: 40 minutes
“It takes a village to raise a child” a famous line we always hear and the continued
support of that village helped in achieving success to resolve issues and concerns in our family
and community. Every one of us has a responsibility to have a happy and safe community.
Helping others and the community does not necessarily mean that you have a lot of
money. There are numerous ways to help others and the community. During this pandemic
the presence of the community pantry is a way of helping others. Bayanihan of the people
during this time was recognized and appreciated. Personal resources such as your talents,
skills and abilities could also be shared to advocate which enables the people to be active
citizens and help others with matters that affect one’s life. Communities have problems, just
like us people. Addressing family and social problems and issues must be dealt with effectively
to avoid it from getting worse.
Here are the step by step process to deal with problem/s effectively in our family and
community.
1. Define the problem- Describe a problem by writing it in the form of a statement and
this will clarify exactly the issue/problem is.
2. Look for the root cause – Answer the following questions
What caused this problem?
Who is responsible for this problem?
Why did this happen?
Can this be solved for good so it will never occur again?
3. Develop possible solutions- Make a list of alternate solutions, and. rank according
to efficiency
4. Implement the Solution- Choose the best possible solution.
5. Evaluate- Know if the chosen solution did work well and the best solution in the given
problem.
The ultimate goal is to understand the problem better and to deal with it more
effectively with the help of other members of the family and the community.

Suggested Time Allotment: 20 minutes
“The Helping Chain”
1. Choose one problem encountered by a family member either in the community or in
the family stated in Activity 1.
2. Make a paper chain. You can make use of colored paper strips if it is available.
3. On each link, answer the chosen problem using the 5 steps in problem-solving.
On a clean sheet of paper, Answer the following questions.
1. What were your thoughts while doing the activity?
2. How will these steps help you as a learner or an individual?
3. Are you going to follow the given steps? If yes, why? If no, why not?
