All-purpose cleaner  This type of cleaner works on
most countertops, sinks and
stovetops. If you have granite or
marble countertops, purchase a
product made specifically for
those materials to avoid doing
damage over time.
Glass cleaner  Opt for a streak-free formula to
clean your mirrors, windows and
other glass with less effort.
Tile and grout cleaner  An acid-based, scrub-free
solution works best on bathtub

Wood cleaner  When cleaning wood furniture,
opt for a polish made for the type
of finish on your wood.
Cleaning Tools
Microfiber cloth  Microfibers are mostly made of
polyester, and, unlike cotton, they
leave no lint behind.
Extendible duster  No matter your height, you will be
able to reach the tops of the
ceiling fans in your home with
one of these handy cleaning tools.
Scrubby sponges  The sponge side works well for
most clean ups, while the
scrubby side helps you tackle
tougher jobs. These work in both
the kitchen and bathroom.
Toilet brush  Having a brush that cleans your
toilet, and only your toilet, helps
curb the spread of germs to other
surfaces.
Vacuum  Vacuums work on both hard and
soft surfaces, such as carpet,
floors and upholstery.
Bucket  Using a bucket, as opposed to
filling a sink with cleaning, makes
it much easier to tackle floors.
Microfiber mop  This tool works for many types of
hard surface flooring.
Grout brush  These narrow brushes help you
free grout lines of debris,
resulting in longer-lasting grout.
Rubber gloves  Protect your hands while
cleaning, especially when using
acid-based cleaners or if you
suffer from skin sensitivity.

PROCEDURE:
OVERHEAD LIGHTING:

PROCEDURE:
1 1. Position the step ladder under the light fixture to be cleaned. Be sure the step
ladder is sturdy and in proper repair.
2 2. If the light fixture has the egg crate type diffusers, unhook them and set aside.
If the diffusers are clear plastic, unhook the panel and bring down to one side.
3 3. With the pack vacuum, vacuum the interior surface of the light fixture. Put on
gloves and goggles
4 4. Using the glass cleaner and a soft, clean cloth, damp dust the interior of the
light fixture and the inside and outside of the plastic diffuser. Dry all surfaces with
a soft, clean cloth.
5 5. Relock the plastic diffuser into position, or replace the egg crate diffuser after it
has been cleaned.
6 6. CAUTION: Avoid the excessive use of glass cleaner or water.
VENETIAN BLINDS:
Tools & Materials Needed:
1) Clean cloths
2) Vacuum cleaner
3) Soft bristle brush

Procedures:
1) Purpose of Cleaning Venetian Blinds
1. Remove dust and dirt from vanes of Venetian blinds where bacteria can
multiply.
2) 2. Weekly Procedure for Cleaning Venetian Blinds
I. Adjust the blind to expose the flat surface.
II. Vacuum entire exposed surface from top to bottom using a left to right
motion as you clean.
III. Reverse the flat surface of the blinds and repeat the procedure.
IV. Return the Venetian blinds to original position.
3 3. Monthly Procedure for Cleaning Venetian Blinds
I. Put on gloves and goggles.
II. Using a clean cloth and cleaner disinfectant in a bucket, clean the blinds
from top to bottom, working in a left to right motion as you clean.

III. Rinse cloth frequently in clear water.
IV. Dry the surface of the blind with another clean cloth.
V. Reverse blinds and repeat procedure.
VI. If possible to remove blinds from window, an alternate procedure is
recommended.
1. Remove blinds.
2. Soak in cleaner disinfectant.
3. Agitate with a soft bristle brush.
4. Rinse with clear water.
5. Dry and re-hang.

Integrated pest management (IPM) is a safe, economical, and
effective way to control pest problems while protecting both human and
environmental health. IPM combines multiple tactics that are the most effective
and least toxic while emphasizing preventative measures and alternatives to
pesticides. If a pesticide is used, it should be the least hazardous and target
only the pest causing the problem. Taking an IPM approach is more likely to be
cost effective and result in long-term pest control compared to conventional
pest management practices. It is also less hazardous to human health.
