Essay On Astronaut
Writing an essay on the topic of an astronaut may initially seem like a fascinating and
straightforward task, given the allure of space exploration and the heroic image associated with
those who venture beyond our planet. However, delving into the complexities of crafting a
compelling essay on this subject reveals its unique challenges.
To begin with, the sheer breadth of information available on astronauts and space exploration
can be overwhelming. Selecting the right focus and narrowing down the scope of the essay
becomes a crucial step. It requires careful consideration of what aspects to highlight – be it
the history of space exploration, the rigorous training astronauts undergo, the psychological
challenges they face, or the technological advancements in space travel.
Furthermore, maintaining a balance between technical details and engaging narrative can be
tricky. Astronautics involves intricate scientific concepts and technologies that may be unfamiliar
to a general audience. Communicating these ideas in a way that is both informative and
accessible requires a delicate touch. The challenge lies in presenting the information in a manner
that captivates the reader without overwhelming them with jargon.
Crafting a captivating introduction and a compelling conclusion is another hurdle. The
introduction must grab the reader's attention, providing a clear sense of direction for the essay.
Meanwhile, the conclusion should leave a lasting impression, summarizing key points and
possibly offering a thought-provoking insight.
Moreover, ensuring the essay maintains a coherent structure is essential. Transitioning seamlessly
between different aspects of an astronaut's life and the broader context of space exploration can
be challenging. The essay needs to flow logically, with each paragraph contributing to the overall
narrative without losing the reader's interest.
In summary, writing an essay on the topic of an astronaut requires navigating through a vast sea
of information, striking a balance between technical details and accessibility, and crafting a
compelling narrative. It's a task that demands meticulous planning, thorough research, and a keen
understanding of the audience. However, overcoming these challenges can result in a rewarding
and enlightening exploration of the captivating world of astronauts and space exploration.

Southern Gothic Influences
The author that will be discussed is William Faulkner who wrote A Rose for Emily
. He was from Mississippi and many of his works were related to southern culture
and gothic writing style. Faulkner s works such as A Rose for Emily and The Sound
and the Fury . Southern gothic writing is a genre of Southern writing. The stories
often focus on grotesque themes. While it may include supernatural elements, it
mainly focuses on damaged, even delusional, characters. It was inspired by original
gothic writings from the 18th century. The idea of gothic writing was to expose the
problems society at the time faced that weren t talked about in the public eye.
Although inspired by Gothic literature, Southern Gothicdoes not dwell on suspense
and the supernatural. Rather, there is a dark humor in the stories as we will see in
Faulkner s works. The authors of southern gothic specifically wrote about the
problems of southern culture and the problems it had on society. The stories take
place in the south and in typical southern settings like plantations, old houses and
towns. The characters... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A Rose for Emily reveals the influence that Southern Gothic had on his writing. The
story s setting is a perfect example. His particular story has a moody and forbidding
atmosphere; a crumbling old mansion; and decay, putrefaction, and grotesquerie.
Faulkner s work uses the sensational elements to highlight an individual s struggle
against an oppressive society that is undergoing rapid change. Emily herself is stuck
in the Old south while her town is changing. Another aspect of the Southern Gothic
style is appropriation and transformation. Faulkner has appropriated the image of the
damsel in distress and transformed it into Emily, a psychologically damaged spinster.
Her mental instability and necrophilia have made her an emblematic Southern Gothic
Target For Schizophrenia Essay
PDE10A A target for schizophrenia? Phosphodiesterases (PDEs) are a class of
enzymes, which are responsible for the breakdown of phosphodiester bonds,
specifically hydrolysing cyclic nucleotides, like the secondary messenger molecules
cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate
(cGMP) in the striatal region of the brain.1 Via their control of both cAMP and
cGMP in the cell, PDEs contribute to cell signalling making them potentially
important drug targets.2 This enzyme class consists of 11 different families, PDE1 to
PDE11, which vary in sequence homology, domain architecture and sequence

is unsubstituted and a relatively synthetically accessible point of modification.

Forensic Anthropology Study
Anthropology is the study of humans and the characteristics of them. Anthropologist

bones, the skeletal system, and the cause of death in certain situations. Forensic
anthropology is the study of human skeletal remains. Anthropologist determine the
cause of death, the remains, and where the bones or remains come from. There are
differences in femaleand maleskeletal materials, and sometimes population and age
can have an effect on determining the sex. As stated above, anthropologist determine
the sex of the remains. In order to do so, they need to know the differences between
male and female skeletal materials. Over the years the humanbody has changed. One
way anthropologist can determine the remains is cranial shape. American white
skulls have evolved by expanding in height and length . (Godde pg. 1). Males are
more affected by nutritional stress than females, this can be seen through body size.

Politics Of Trinidad And Tobago
Topic: Politics in Trinidad and Tobago
The topic of politics in Trinidad and Tobago is one that need major concern at its
present standing. Most inhabitants in this country (Trinidad and Tobago) are not
familiar with how political debates are supposed to be orchestrated. Politicians are
supposed to talk about the issues an ways to overcome them using hard work and
determination not just saying choose me and I will give you this and choose me
and I will give u that . They are supposed to state a topic, state the issues of the said
topic, state the reasons why it s an issue, and how it became one and last state how
they can be fixed/how you intend to fix them to last over a period of time. Some
topics that are relevant in this discussion are as follows: Do you agree with the
nationwide legalization of same sex marriage? Should Incest between two (2)
consensual adults be legalized? Bribes in politics, do conservatives compromise their
integrity and ethics for money? Should adultery be considered as a very serious
crime? Should women have more seats in government? Should killing a law

topics that should be discussed because these are what are affecting the integrity of
our nation.

Cyber Crime And Cyber Criminal Activity
Have you ever wondered how computers systems get hacked? Have you ever
considered the criminals motives for engaging in such type of criminal activity?
While computers and the Internet have undoubtedly brought great advantages to
society. Computers have also paved new ways for criminals to engage in dangerous
activities that are unprecedented in scope and could potentially cause catastrophic
consequences for society. Cyber criminal activity occurs constantly, however, many
people are unaware of the true meaning of cyber crimeand their risks associated with
becoming a victim of such crime. According to an article released by the Law
school of the University of Pennsylvania The term cybercrime refers to the use of a
computer to facilitate or carry out a criminal offense (Katyal 12). These criminal
offenses can include, but are not limited to: telemarketing, identity theft, online
money laundering, cyber terrorism, and cyber extortions. In an era were society at
large relies greatly on computers and the Internet, it is crucial to understand the
methods that cyber criminal s use and the measures that one must take to prevent
becoming a victim of cybercrime. When people think of cyber criminals also known
as hackers many people tend to imagine a person dressed in black, with pale skin,
bad mannerism, over weight, and somewhat anxious. People tend to think of hackers
in this manner, because that is how they are portrayed in movies and T.V. However,

Teen Curfew
Teen curfews have been in debate in most major cities for a while now. Parents and
city council members have been trying to push laws to have young adults home safe
and sound where they should be at a more reasonable time. Teen curfews are a good
idea and should be enforced. Not only would it show more responsibility on the
young adult s part, but it would support teen safety. Another advantage to a curfewis
that it would will help teens to be less sleep deprived.
Responsibility is something that takes time to learn. We all had to go through those
trial and error moments where we have to find our on way, or learn new things. Teen

Sardonicus, Gospel According To Mark And Blood Disease
In literature, themes and conflicts are what make a story so special, as they incite
the reader s attention and curiosity. Gothic literature is no different, as gothic
stories tend to have more depth in their themes and deeper conflicts. This essay
will examine the conflicts of the stories Sardonicus, Gospel According to Mark and
Blood Disease, as well as their purposes in the story. In Ray Russell s story,
Sardonicus, the main conflict is love between two individuals, as well as love with
oneself. Sardonicus, a protagonist, is at the center of this conflict; he loved his wife,
Maude, as seen when he says you perhaps would say I fell in love with her (Baldick
456), and put the love for himself over his love for her. At first, his love for... Show

In this story, many different medical terms are mentioned, such as anemia and
malaria, and how they affected characters in the story. The protagonist, Congo Bill,
experienced multiple known symptoms of malaria, such as weakness, vomiting,
cough, diarrhea (WHO 149). Also, his pale figure is also scientifically proven;
pale skin is due to low oxygen levels in the body caused by the malaria (EB
Medicine 4). However, the anemic characters in the story, like Kevin Pander and
the others at the Blue Bat Inn, displayed some uncharacteristic vampire like
behaviors. As mentioned by Ronald Dexter, an individual in the story, I shall be
set upon by vampires (Baldick 504). This foreshadows what is to come as
vampires tend to kill their victims by sucking out their blood. Also, in connection
to the vampire theme, the author chose to name the motel Blue Bat inn, where
bats are a symbol for vampires. Ronald refers to them as vampires due to their
disease, anemia. Anemics have a low red blood cell count, which causes them to
get weaker. Their craving for fresh blood is explained by their vampirism: in order
to stay alive, they need to consume fresh blood. However, drinking blood has no
scientific evidence of it being a cure or a remedy(Robson). On the contrary, if blood
is ingested, just as any other liquid, it will be digested. Thus, this incites a scientific
phenomenon that cannot be explained. The lingering mystery lies in how these
individuals remain alive after more than 5 years of taking in blood in an unscientific
manner. Moreover, the mystery of the monkey also remains unexplainable. While
reading, we assume that the flea that jumped from the monkey to Frank transported
malaria and left its host after its death from said disease. However, at the end of the
story, the monkey came back to life and left with the little girl carrying him. There is
a possibility that the tic turned

State Board Of Education Case Study
The learning environment that ELL students have in the classroom has been
impacted by the history of laws and bills passed by the board of education. Many
school districts all over the United States are experiencing an increase in the
enrollment of students who cannot speak, read, or write English in order to fully
participate in their education. Numerous pieces in history took action in order to
prevent these learners from risking their loss of opportunities. The Civil Rights
Act of 1964 prevents discrimination based on a person s race, color, or nationality.
In Lau v. Nichols of 1974, the Supreme Court stated that school districts have to
take steps in order to help ELL students conquer language barriers and to enable
them to participate fully in the districts educational programs. The case of Plyler vs.
Doe 1982 stated that no school or school district may have the ability to forbid
immigrant children the access to public education. No Child Left Behind (2001):

Analysis Of The Book The Scarlet Letter
Reading The Scarlet Letter again, I imagine Hester Prynne as she steps out of the
Boston jail. She carries her out of wedlock baby in her arms but does not hide the
A she wears on her breast. Her crime, though it will never be named in the book by
more than an initial, is placed on exhibition. Yet she has converted the letter into
her own statement by fantastic flourishes of gold embroidery. She is a mystery
beyond the reach not only of her fellow Bostonians but also of the reader. To the
end of her story she will be someone whose final meaning is as obscure as her
reasons for blazoning the letter so that it looks like a badge of honor while it
reinforces her condemnation.
Hester has been coming before us this way since The Scarlet Letter was published 150
years ago, and the book that made Hawthorne famous has remained our most
unchallenged classic, an American novel about the American past. Its newest readers
turn to the Internet for help in writing the assigned paper, and there is plenty to
download bibliographies and potted criticism, online hypertext that highlights the
hard words and references for access to explanations. There is even a site titled How
to Get an A on Your Scarlet Letter Assignment, which, fortunately, advises only, Read
the book! Teenagers sometimes find this reading boring, sometimes thrilling, and are
not quite sure what it adds up to. The punishment inflicted upon an unmarried mother
seems excessive.
Abercrombie And Fitch Vs. Fitch
Abercrombie and Fitch is widely known for placing their stores in high traffic
shopping channels such as popular malls and plazas. A typical consumer would
most likely find one of the brand s main stores, Abercrombie Fitch or Hollister Co.,
located in their local malls. Locating the store and products are not issues for the
average consumer, but it is when they step foot into an establishment, just pass by it,
would be where the problems arise. With the brand s peak in the early 2000 s, stores
were designed for the trendy target market of the time. Creating a cool, environment
with dim lighting, extravagant dГ©cor and store fronts, upbeat music, and wall

after controversies continued to pile against this once mighty brand. Through the

What used to bring crowds into these stores have backfired due to society becoming

felt only people who looked a certain way are allowed to enter and were intimidated
instead of feeling welcomed. The environment of all of the stores under the brand
Market Failure is Becoming Commonplace in Our Economy
Market Failure in Economics Market failures have become a common
phenomenon and now that the world has opened up things are much faster paced
and things happen much quickly then how they used to happen in the past. It is
the over dependency of the nations on one another that have brought these
economic crisis on one another and the last century was full of such instances.
There was no winner or loser in such a case and in the end it was the common man
who lost a lot. These are the happenings, which suggested that it was about time
checks and balances were put in place and in the end it was necessary that such
things could be avoided for good for the betterment of the people. The crash of
1929 started a recession that lasted for almost a decade and it engulfed the entire
world in the problem. Had the people been able to predict it, it would have been
avoided but that was not the case and the crisis was so massive that prices shot up
like anything and the jobs were slashed. At the end of the day it was very costly and
the entire world economycollapsed. It showed how vulnerable can the free market
economy be. It also showed how dreadful it can be if the market failure and the
collapse of an economy is not cushioned in the nick of time to reduce the potential
damage that can be caused. The crash on Monday 22nd October 1929 in New York
Stock Exchangewas probably the biggest dilemma of economic nature faced by the
world. It was a problem that engulfed the entire world causing
Essay on The Origins Of Our Species
The latest discovery of a fossil skull in Kenya, more than three million years old,
once again demonstrates the complex evolution of humankind. The following article
examines the evidence and sees how it fits into the ideas of human origin formulated
by Frederick Engels more than 100 years ago.
quot; There is a grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been
originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone
cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless
forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved. quot;

It is understood that, as with the Australopithecus, the Kenyanthropus also walked
upright. The emergence of these bipedal apes was a revolutionary breakthrough in
human evolution. What forced these creatures in this direction is likely to have been
the climatic changes that swept through the African continent some fifteen million
years ago. The transformed geography, driven by the separation of two tectonic
plates, running from the Red Sea in the north through Mozambique in the south, saw
faulting and uplifting of mountains and the creation of the Great Rift Valley. This
transformation caused the forests to shrink and fragment, creating radical changes to
the habitat of the ape populations.
quot; The land to the east of the valley was no place for apes, with its forests rapidly
disappearing as rainfall levels diminished quot;, states Richard Leakey and Roger
Lewin. quot; One very persuasive theory for the origin of bipedalism, the feature that
established the human family, is that it was an adaptation for more efficient
locomotion between widely distributed food sources. There are other theories, too,
but this one makes good biological sense, given the habitat changes of the time. quot;

Infant Colic
Before taking Child Development, I hadn t heard about Infant Colic. After
learning a little bit about it in class, I decided to do some research of my own on it.
An infant can be born healthy and well fed, but can cry for several hours a day,
several days a week due to them having Colic. There are some theories as to what
causes Colic. Some of the causes may be gas, growing digestive system, stomach
pains caused by hormones and babies becoming overstimulated and oversensitive
to light and noise. Your baby could have an infection, an irregular heartbeat,
stomach problems, or even increased eye pressure (WebMD). Babies can develop
Colic around the age of just two weeks old. Babies can be born full term and have
Colic. Colic can develop later if your infantwas born premature. Colic will go away
by itself around three to four months old. It doesn t matter what gender your baby
is or whether or not you breast fed or bottle fed them. They can still end up having
Colic anyways. Children who had Colic as infants will grow up to be like every
other kid who didn t have Colic. Parents may become confused in knowing whether
it is a normal cry because they need their diaper changed to them having Colic.

the best things, ought to be calm and tranquil. Many people say that to get rid of
your boring daily routine, it is important that you take some day off and visit a
beautiful place. It will not only prove to be recreational but also you can get to know
something interesting about the culture and heritage of that place. I ve been on a
vacation to many places but there s one which no one can resist going to Kashmir.
Down my memory lane, I recall that it was two years ago when all of a sudden my
dad decided to go on a vacation to Kashmir. Visiting Kashmir had been a dream for
years. After learning about this decision, I was on the top of the world! My friends

We received a pleasant welcome from the locals of Kashmir. Due to the fact that it
had been snowing in Kashmir for the past two days, the temperature had fallen to
3oC. It was so cold outside that we just couldn t bear the water. It was freezing cold!
Furthermore, I being the delicate darling of our family, my mom was worried that
this fall in temperature could make me fall sick. So the very next moment I was
piled up with a bundle of warm clothes. As we reached Kashmir during the night, we
had to stay in the hotel for the next few hours. Though the climate was quite chilly in
the beginning, till the next morning I got very much adapted to it.
The very next day, we decided to go on a city tour of Kashmir. Water in its peculiar
form, charmed Kashmir to the core. From beautiful springs to huge lakes, water has
been the most vital part of Kashmir s beauty. It is said that once emperor Jahangir, of
the Mughal Dynasty had stated that Kashmir is vowed to be the paradise on Earth.
And yes it is true. Visiting Kashmir makes you feel as though you have come to the
heaven
The American Fear of Being Sued Essay
The American Fear of Being Sued
Something basic has been stolen from American life. We have lost much of our
individual freedom due to the theft in our society. Our thieves come in the form of
sue happy Americans. Doctors are paranoid, teachers are weakened and religious
consultation is decreased. You would have to be a fool to say what you really think
in the workplace. Increasingly, people believe that they cannot make a difference.
Today, the medical industry has been transformed. Doctors must live by a different
code of ethics other than their oath. Legal fear has put the doctor patient relationship
in jeopardy. Today, physicians view patients as potential malpractice litigants.
Therefore, doctors order unnecessary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

past, faith has been an integral part of how society functions. No matter what faith,
lawsuits do not discriminate. Philip K. Howard stated, Nothing is sacred.
Ministers now are increasingly told not to counsel troubled parishioners because,
who knows, maybe someone will sue if the couple ends up getting divorced. How
can we as fellow parishioners allow this to happen? When did we develop a fright
for participating in a faith? Lets permit ministers to counsel as they have for
centuries. Church and State have always been separate, lets keep it that way!
Sociologist Orlando Patterson asked the question, Do you think whites are afraid of
discrimination claims? Frozen with fear is more accurate. The sociologist observed,
no Euro American person #8230;dare say what he or she really means. Fear of a

On August 9, 2014, a young, unarmed, 18 year old, black man named Michael
Brown was shot to death six times by 28 year old, white police officer Darren Wilson
in Ferguson, Missouri, a town just outside of St. Louis, Missouri. Some say Officer
Wilson was protecting his life, I call it police brutality. The brutality has led to an
uproar of all day protesting and looting, and cops and even the National Guard are
working double time to keep everything under control. There are many things that
led up to the shooting. At 11:54 am on August 9, 2014, Michael Brown and his
friend Dorian Johnson were recorded on a convenience store security camera
leaving the store with a $48.00 box of Swisher Sweet Cigars. At that time, a dispatch
went out over police radio reporting the crime, a strong armed robbery (Freivogal).
According to Grandstrandlaw.com, a strong armed robbery ... occurs when there is
no deadly weapon used during the robbery (Frederick). With this in mind, we cannot
assume that Michael Brown had a gun. We can also not say that he may have had a
gun, but just decided to not show it to the convenience store clerk in order to
intimidate him or her during the robbery. When Brown and Johnson left the store,
they had a ten minute walk to get back to where they lived. When they were walking
home, they were walking in the middle of the street when Officer Darren Wilson

Leopard Man Essay
It would be a good idea to change your feelings, looks, beliefs, or actions because you
could have friends just like you, you can be different but be yourself. It may be safer,
or better to be a conformist because you can fit in and no one will make fun of you or
judge you if you fit in. If you would want to changeyour beliefs that would be a big
change, but if that s what you want to do that s ok but just know you re changing
on what you believe in. The dangers of conforming could be trouble because maybe
you start to change your body and looks so that would mean it would be much
harder to get a job. Their are pros and cons to changing yourself the pros may sound

written by David and Jerry Zucker as well as Jim Abrahams,[4] and produced by
Jon Davison. It stars Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty and features Leslie Nielsen,
Robert Stack, Lloyd Bridges, Peter Graves, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Lorna

Paramount film Zero Hour!, from which it borrows the plot and the central
characters,[5] as well as many elements from Airport 1975. The film is known for
its use of surreal humor and its fast paced slapstick comedy, including visual and
verbal puns and gags. Airplane! was a critical and financial success, grossing over
$83 million in North America against a budget of $3.5 million, being released by
Paramount Pictures.[6] The film s creators received the Writers Guild of America

Victory Gin 1984
The main character, Winston, wakes up in his flat and the setting is somber. The
narrator describes the climate of London in general terms. There are telescreens
which are both a television and a security camera. Along these lines, the general
population are constantly under consistent reconnaissance. However, Winston has
figured out how to restrain their observation by holding his back to the telescreen.
Victory Gin is presented as a kind of medicine that lifts the spirits of the characters;
this is required since the whole place is described by need and disregard. Winston
sits in such a design, to the point that he can t be seen by the screen. Despite the fact
that he can in any case be listened, he remarks that the screen can t track his

When Saddam Hussein refused to leave Iraq, the United States and allied forces

Persuasive Essay On Texting While Driving
Driving is a privilege. It also comes with endless responsibilities. You are in charge
of maneuvering a 2,000 pound vehicle and have your life and possibly multiple
lives in the palms of your hands. Why would you want to end someone s or even

Transcontinental Railroad Research Paper
The Transcontinental Railroad
The Transcontinental Railroad, first known as the Pacific Railroad was an almost a
2000 mile railroad line. It was constructed over a span of six years between 1863
and 1869. It connected the eastern U.S. rail network in Iowa with the Pacific coast at
San Francisco Bay.
At the time they did not have cars, they had horses and trains. And trains would be
faster and safer to transport dry goods and it could also get a lot of people around the
United States. so we made a railroad that could travel across the continent. Faster
travel across the U.S. also helped businesses grow into bigger, better business.
The transcontinental railroad was built by multiple types of people from around the

Mayan Self Sacrifice
Every living human being has and is sacrificing in their own way. Bliss is what a
person gets back from experiencing that sacrifice. Like sacrifice, bliss can be
achieved in multiple ways. A mythological example of sacrifice can be expressed
in the form of self sacrifice with the bliss being the creation of a species of mortal
beings. This is the case with the mythological story of creation as told by the ancient
Mayans. In this mythological story, there are two important types of self sacrificethat
are blended together, eventually creating bliss, the creation of human beings. These
two types of self sacrifice are essential to the mythological creation of humans and
death coupled with the passage into heaven.

How Effective And Ineffective Are Services

Effectiveness/Ineffectiveness
There will always be a question of effectiveness versus ineffectiveness of any
program. In the matter of child welfare that will always be a question. There is
increasing emphasis on the importance of child welfare outcomes, such safety,
permanency, and well being. The Child and Family Service Reviews showed that
children who have been victims of child maltreatment before are 96% more likely
to experience a recurrence that those who were not (US DHHS, 2008). The highest
risk period for recurrence was 30 to 60 days following the initial CPS referral, and
decreased over time. Recurrence was more common while a CPS was still opened.

These two chart files review studies of 148 cases discovered that SBC can be
implemented across cases differing in certain variables. Implementation was greatest
when teams of child welfare supervisors and workers were trained together. Results
showed that workers were more engaged in case planning and service acquisition for
families when Solution Based Casework was implemented. These workers were
more likely to contact referents directly and attend initial sessions with their
clients in order to develop collaborative service plans. Families were more
compliant with requirements backed by higher rates of completion of goals
assigned by caseworkers. These families achieved more goals than families the
Solution Based Casework was not use on. Another variable that impacted success
with the Solution Based Casework model was the history families had with child
welfare. According to Antle, et al. these families achieved more goals than those
who were not previously involved with the system. If families had prior cases that
were already worked, then they had made progress in parenting. This progress and
exiting the system could be viewed as a strength, and a period of time the family
exhibited no problems. The model requires case workers to indentify strengths and
remain involved with direct contact with
Conformity And Cult Development
Cult development is fascinating phenomenon that occurs all around the world. Their
membership growth is a complex interaction facilitated by conformity and
manipulation. Cult membership can have a major impact on those who are involved.
Leaving a cult can cause much distress for both the ex member and their family. It is
important to understand cultaffiliation factors and the development of their
membership in order to provide proper therapeutic intervention for those who leave

On Death
Cultures all over the world have different convictions surrounding the final, inevitable
end for all humans death. In the United States, and in most Westernized cultures we
tend to view death as something that can be avoided through the use of medicine,
artificial respiration machines, and the like. To us, death is not a simple passing,
and usually, we do not accept it as a normal part of life. Death, to Westernized folk,
is not celebrated, but is rather something to be feared, something that haunts us all in
the back of our minds. However, this mentality is not held through all cultures in

Many existentialists believe that religious, metaphysical, agnostic or atheistic
convictions alter the true meaninglessness of the act, but that through understanding
death as being meaningless, we actually add to the meaning in our own lives. If a
human becomes capable of accepting courageously, as the boys did, the absolute
certainty of his death, he grows more authentic and begins to fill his life with new
meaning. In fact, there is a close correlation between the courage to face the
unavoidablity of death, and then through that, to find a balanced view and
perspective on their place in the living world. This idea is not just shown in
existentialist literature like The Sailor, but is embedded within literature that we all
grew up with. In many ways, a simple fairy tale can have numerous parallels with
Mishima s ideologies. For example, in one fairy tale the story of a chivalrous knight
a knight must go out into the woods on an agreed upon day to face the Green Knight,
who represents death. Here, he has to let the mysterious knight cut off his head. As he
goes into the forest, accepting his impending death, he meets a beautiful princess, and
stays with her for three days. This hostess thrice attempts to seduce him but to no
avail. Bound by his chivalrous duties as a knight, the young man goes out into the

Work Environment And Performance As A Team
Working as a team will improve the quality of care and provide great service to
individuals. The purpose of having a team is to have a framework that will
increase the ability for employees to participate in problem solving, planning and
decision making. John C. Maxwell is the author of the book Teamwork Makes the
Dream Work. He is known as one of America s experts on leadership. He is also the
founder of John Maxwell Team Online University. He stated that Teamwork makes
the dream work, but a vision becomes a nightmare when the leader has a big dream
and a bad team (Transformational Leadership Strategist, 2015). A team can be any
group of people or organizations working together to interdependently and
cooperatively help meet the needs of their residents or patients based on their
settings. Team work is essential in the healthcare field for happy employees. I gave
a survey to 50 employees at Our Lady of the Lake Ollie Steele that questioned their
opinion on their work environment and performance as a team. The team mainly
consists of Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Certified
Nurse Aides (CNA), kitchen staff, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and
administration. Each department and/or individual has a specific job to do within the
main collaborative goal of providing service to the residents. I then observed the
work environment of these employees during the day shift and again during the
evening shift. I was looking for the
Sociological Dynamics
Sociological dynamics can be found in the mass media today, whether it be by
film, song, books or various forms of expression. Though some the dynamics in
works may be subtle, others are blatantly obvious with their message. The Disney
adaptation of Victor Hugo s The Hunchback of Notre Dame is an example of
media culture expressing the race relations, class inequality, and the depiction of
religion that were prevalent in both the movie and in many time periods in history.
Set roughly in the late 1400s, The Hunchback of Notre Dame centers around a
deformed character named Quasimodo. Abandoned as a baby, Quasimodo is
essentially a feral child who was adopted and abused by Archdeacon Frollo. He
lives a secluded life in a bell tower and due to Frollo s constant belittlement,
Quasimodo has a looking glass self view that he is ugly and unwanted. Frollo, the
archdeacon of the Cathedral that Quasimodo has grown up and lived in, is morally
corrupt and wants to eradicate all the gypsies in the city but secretly lusts for

By separating the entity from CCP, it would reduce the erosion of CCP s current

The $3 million investment can be spent on creating this entity and equipping it with
the technical expertise required to further research on the concrete coating, and a
separate sales force to develop a market for this new product. The cost can
eventually be off set by the estimated $5.07 million increase in profit, as mentioned
previously. The separate entity need not require a new factory. Instead, CCP and this

Sharknado Review
Most B movies are laughable in a way that makes them instantly forgettable, but
every now and then a B movie comes along that is just so bad that it s good. For this
generation that movie is Sharknado, as it really did blend the unintentionally
hilarious with the truly bonkers. Considering the overwhelming response to the film,

When Sharknado made its straight to DVD debut, it was film that most of the world

Sharknado packs plenty of bite!
Sharknado is one of the silliest films of all time, as it went from being a serious

The Summary of and Response to The Trouble with Talent by Kathy Seal
In The Trouble with Talent , Kathy Seal, who frequently writes about children and
education in magazines, wrote about the way of education in the U.S. which only
focused on the value of inborn aptitude could breed children to become artful people
and waste many of American children s potential. At the beginning of this article,
Seal told about an experiment of Jim Stigler, who was a UCLA psychologist, which
tested the persistence of Japanese and American children by solving the math
problem. While the American kids solved the problem for a short time and quickly
gave up, the Japanese kids still kept on their work. Stigler stated that Asian education
focused to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, from this article we recognize that the children will gain success when
everybody encourages their effort and shouldn t emphasize inborn talent. Effort
counts more than innate ability.
After reading Seal s article which stated that Americans often thought kids are born
smart while Asians more often believed that studying makes a person smarter, I was
reminded my own personal beliefs on intelligence and I realized that I have thought
people could get smart by exerting effort since I was in the last year of elementary
school in Vietnam. Therefore, I empathized with Seal s attitude that success and
achievement are a result of working hard. I could remember that I got this attitude
when I was in an important final exam which decided where my middle school was in
the next year that depended on my score. In this exam, the math test was an extremely
difficult test for every student because it had a strange math problem which my
classmates and I had never studied before. At first, I had spent for 2 hour to solve
this problem, but I didn t succeed. So, I wanted to give up. However, I was worry
about my score and thought about my mom, who hoped that I could get the high
score enough to enter a famous middle school. Since I didn t want to disappoint my
mom s wish, I tried to solve this math problem again and again and again. Eventually,
I was successful to solve
Business And Marketing Strategies Of Major Airways
Introduction Major Airways is a U.S. airline, headquartered in Pittsburg, PA. The
airline was established in May 2016. We are centrally located to service all major
east coast cities from Boston to Charlotte. Market factors favor inauguration of a
new airline to meet the demand for additional, higher quality passenger service
linking the East coast with the rapidly expanding markets. Major Airways will base
its business and marketing strategies on achieving high, and profitable, load factors
through absorption of unmet demand in three key air traffic categories: unserved and
under served routes on which high unmet demand currently exists or can be readily
developed; serving key niche markets where demand is either... Show more content

Outfitting these aircraft with the latest aviation technologies and navigational
equipment will help ensure the highest level of reliability, punctuality, safety, and
customer satisfaction.
3.Utilization of the latest electronic and informational technologies in sales and
marketing; reservations, ticketing and check in; scheduling and resource planning;
and operational oversight. Such techniques as internet marketing, reservations, and
sales; electronic ticketing and check in; online quality control, resource planning,
operational oversight, cargo and baggage tracking, and customer service, all will
reduce staffing requirements while offering ease of use and greatly enhanced access
by, and convenience to, the customer.
4.Recognition that not everyone is geared for the electronic world, leading the
proposed airline to provide a high level of non electronic service as well, particularly
to the many newer, less experienced travelers, but future loyal customers, found in the
region.
5.Ensuring a friendly, cooperative, enjoyable, yet highly professional face to the
customer.
6.Development and implementation of cooperations, associations, and partnerships
with other larger, more established, and highly regarded airlines both within and
beyond the region to provide an extensive range of
Jeffrey Eugenides Conformity Analysis
Conformity is caused when there is pressure to follow the standards of society, but
some still question their identity and who they really are. In Jeffrey Eugenides s
book, Middlesex, Cal Stephanides is first born as Calliope and raised as a female. In
her adolescence, Callie begins to have feelings for another of the same sex, but in the
society it was seen as wrong, and therefore has a short relationship with someone of
the opposite sex instead. While Callie was raised as a female, she always questioned
why she was behind her peers in development. She later finds out that she was born
with 5 alpha reductase deficiency, which means that while Callie looks like a girl,
she has malehormones. This causes Callie to run away and become Cal; he no
longer wants to be a girl and wants to be who he really is. Cal s childhood was
always him conforming to what other people wanted, even though he still
questioned who he was. In eighth grade, Callie meets a girl, who we know only as
the Obscure Object. Callie and the Object become friends, and just by thinking or
being around the Object, Callie can t focus. She wonders if her desires for the
Object are normal, as every other girl in her grade is just envious of one another
(Eugenides 327). The nickname for the girl Cal had feelings for, further shows that
he felt at this point in his childhood that it was wrong to like her while he identified
as a female. Society s standards in the mid 20th century tell us that romantic relations
Perceptual Bias In Interviews
In this case and for all interviews, the perceptual errors of the halo effect, leniency,
central tendency, recency effects, and contrast effects are all at play. Though to what
degree they vary. The contrast effect is one of the more pronounced. Contrasting is
comparing and evaluating people with other people in recent memory. In an
interviewing environment, asking the same questions to many people, such as the
weakness question, contrasting within that group of interviewees is inevitable. Of
course in the case of hiring some limited number of people from a larger group this
might be exactly what one wants to do, compare applicants to each other. However,
it is important to be aware of these perceptual biases regardless. The recency effect

Essay On Astronaut. 10 Lines on Astronaut in English About Astronaut Essay on Astronaut ...

  • 1. Essay On Astronaut Writing an essay on the topic of an astronaut may initially seem like a fascinating and straightforward task, given the allure of space exploration and the heroic image associated with those who venture beyond our planet. However, delving into the complexities of crafting a compelling essay on this subject reveals its unique challenges. To begin with, the sheer breadth of information available on astronauts and space exploration can be overwhelming. Selecting the right focus and narrowing down the scope of the essay becomes a crucial step. It requires careful consideration of what aspects to highlight – be it the history of space exploration, the rigorous training astronauts undergo, the psychological challenges they face, or the technological advancements in space travel. Furthermore, maintaining a balance between technical details and engaging narrative can be tricky. Astronautics involves intricate scientific concepts and technologies that may be unfamiliar to a general audience. Communicating these ideas in a way that is both informative and accessible requires a delicate touch. The challenge lies in presenting the information in a manner that captivates the reader without overwhelming them with jargon. Crafting a captivating introduction and a compelling conclusion is another hurdle. The introduction must grab the reader's attention, providing a clear sense of direction for the essay. Meanwhile, the conclusion should leave a lasting impression, summarizing key points and possibly offering a thought-provoking insight. Moreover, ensuring the essay maintains a coherent structure is essential. Transitioning seamlessly between different aspects of an astronaut's life and the broader context of space exploration can be challenging. The essay needs to flow logically, with each paragraph contributing to the overall narrative without losing the reader's interest. In summary, writing an essay on the topic of an astronaut requires navigating through a vast sea of information, striking a balance between technical details and accessibility, and crafting a compelling narrative. It's a task that demands meticulous planning, thorough research, and a keen understanding of the audience. However, overcoming these challenges can result in a rewarding and enlightening exploration of the captivating world of astronauts and space exploration. • 2. Southern Gothic Influences The author that will be discussed is William Faulkner who wrote A Rose for Emily . He was from Mississippi and many of his works were related to southern culture and gothic writing style. Faulkner s works such as A Rose for Emily and The Sound and the Fury . Southern gothic writing is a genre of Southern writing. The stories often focus on grotesque themes. While it may include supernatural elements, it mainly focuses on damaged, even delusional, characters. It was inspired by original gothic writings from the 18th century. The idea of gothic writing was to expose the problems society at the time faced that weren t talked about in the public eye. Although inspired by Gothic literature, Southern Gothicdoes not dwell on suspense and the supernatural. Rather, there is a dark humor in the stories as we will see in Faulkner s works. The authors of southern gothic specifically wrote about the problems of southern culture and the problems it had on society. The stories take place in the south and in typical southern settings like plantations, old houses and towns. The characters... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A Rose for Emily reveals the influence that Southern Gothic had on his writing. The story s setting is a perfect example. His particular story has a moody and forbidding atmosphere; a crumbling old mansion; and decay, putrefaction, and grotesquerie. Faulkner s work uses the sensational elements to highlight an individual s struggle against an oppressive society that is undergoing rapid change. Emily herself is stuck in the Old south while her town is changing. Another aspect of the Southern Gothic style is appropriation and transformation. Faulkner has appropriated the image of the damsel in distress and transformed it into Emily, a psychologically damaged spinster. Her mental instability and necrophilia have made her an emblematic Southern Gothic

Phosphodiesterases (PDEs) are a class of enzymes, which are responsible for the breakdown of phosphodiester bonds, specifically hydrolysing cyclic nucleotides, like the secondary messenger molecules cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the striatal region of the brain.1 Via their control of both cAMP and cGMP in the cell, PDEs contribute to cell signalling making them potentially important drug targets.2 This enzyme class consists of 11 different families, PDE1 to PDE11, which vary in sequence homology, domain architecture and sequence homology.1 PDE10A is a PDE of current interest as a possible target to treat neurological diseases such as Schizophrenia and... To characterise the target engagement of MP 10, SchuМ€lke et al. designed a photoaffinity probe for PDE10A which contained a linker attached to the PDE10A recognition element (Figure 4), so that a reporter group could be introduced without effecting the proteins activity. The group decided, via studying the cocrystal structure, that the pyrazole nitrogen would be the best site for linker attachment as it is unsubstituted and a relatively synthetically accessible point of modification. In Ray Russell s story, Sardonicus, the main conflict is love between two individuals, as well as love with oneself. In this story, many different medical terms are mentioned, such as anemia and malaria, and how they affected characters in the story. The protagonist, Congo Bill, experienced multiple known symptoms of malaria, such as weakness, vomiting, cough, diarrhea (WHO 149). Also, his pale figure is also scientifically proven; pale skin is due to low oxygen levels in the body caused by the malaria (EB Medicine 4). However, the anemic characters in the story, like Kevin Pander and the others at the Blue Bat Inn, displayed some uncharacteristic vampire like behaviors. As mentioned by Ronald Dexter, an individual in the story, I shall be set upon by vampires (Baldick 504). This foreshadows what is to come as vampires tend to kill their victims by sucking out their blood. Also, in connection to the vampire theme, the author chose to name the motel Blue Bat inn, where bats are a symbol for vampires. Ronald refers to them as vampires due to their disease, anemia. Anemics have a low red blood cell count, which causes them to get weaker. Their craving for fresh blood is explained by their vampirism: in order to stay alive, they need to consume fresh blood. However, drinking blood has no scientific evidence of it being a cure or a remedy(Robson). On the contrary, if blood is ingested, just as any other liquid, it will be digested. Thus, this incites a scientific phenomenon that cannot be explained. The lingering mystery lies in how these individuals remain alive after more than 5 years of taking in blood in an unscientific manner. Moreover, the mystery of the monkey also remains unexplainable. While reading, we assume that the flea that jumped from the monkey to Frank transported malaria and left its host after its death from said disease. However, at the end of the story, the monkey came back to life and left with the little girl carrying him. There is a possibility that the tic turned

She carries her out of wedlock baby in her arms but does not hide the A she wears on her breast. Her crime, though it will never be named in the book by more than an initial, is placed on exhibition. Yet she has converted the letter into her own statement by fantastic flourishes of gold embroidery. She is a mystery beyond the reach not only of her fellow Bostonians but also of the reader. The emergence of these bipedal apes was a revolutionary breakthrough in human evolution. The transformed geography, driven by the separation of two tectonic plates, running from the Red Sea in the north through Mozambique in the south, saw faulting and uplifting of mountains and the creation of the Great Rift Valley. This transformation caused the forests to shrink and fragment, creating radical changes to the habitat of the ape populations. quot; The land to the east of the valley was no place for apes, with its forests rapidly disappearing as rainfall levels diminished quot;, states Richard Leakey and Roger Lewin. quot; One very persuasive theory for the origin of bipedalism, the feature that established the human family, is that it was an adaptation for more efficient locomotion between widely distributed food sources. There are other theories, too, but this one makes good biological sense, given the habitat changes of the time. quot; (The Sixth Extinction, p.88.) Over a

To us, death is not a simple passing, and usually, we do not accept it as a normal part of life. Many existentialists believe that religious, metaphysical, agnostic or atheistic convictions alter the true meaninglessness of the act, but that through understanding death as being meaningless, we actually add to the meaning in our own lives. If a human becomes capable of accepting courageously, as the boys did, the absolute certainty of his death, he grows more authentic and begins to fill his life with new meaning. In fact, there is a close correlation between the courage to face the unavoidablity of death, and then through that, to find a balanced view and perspective on their place in the living world. This idea is not just shown in existentialist literature like The Sailor, but is embedded within literature that we all grew up with. In many ways, a simple fairy tale can have numerous parallels with Mishima s ideologies. For example, in one fairy tale the story of a chivalrous knight a knight must go out into the woods on an agreed upon day to face the Green Knight, who represents death. Here, he has to let the mysterious knight cut off his head. As he goes into the forest, accepting his impending death, he meets a beautiful princess, and stays with her for three days. In her adolescence, Callie begins to have feelings for another of the same sex, but in the society it was seen as wrong, and therefore has a short relationship with someone of the opposite sex instead. While Callie was raised as a female, she always questioned why she was behind her peers in development. She later finds out that she was born with 5 alpha reductase deficiency, which means that while Callie looks like a girl, she has malehormones. This causes Callie to run away and become Cal; he no longer wants to be a girl and wants to be who he really is. Cal s childhood was always him conforming to what other people wanted, even though he still questioned who he was. In eighth grade, Callie meets a girl, who we know only as the Obscure Object. In an interviewing environment, asking the same questions to many people, such as the weakness question, contrasting within that group of interviewees is inevitable.
