In this mode, the availability of resources is very influenced by meteorological factors. In order to achieve a high availability of energy, microgrid has to satisfy high requirements on intelligent power management. The main objective of this study is to develop a control based on the forecast of production and the priority of loads to ensure high availability of electrical power for critical loads. A mathematical model for the proposed strategy is developed. ABSTRACT: Due to increasing integration of new technologies into the grid such as hybrid electric vehicles, distributed generations, power electronic interface circuits, advanced controllers etc., the present power system network is now more complex than in the past. Consequently, the recent rate of blackouts recorded in some parts of the world indicates that the power system is stressed. The real time/online monitoring and prediction of stability limit is needed to prevent future blackouts. The aggravated increase in energy demand has posed a serious problem for the power system’s stability and reliability, and hence has become of major concern. The shortcomings of conventional source of energy have paved way for renewable energy sources. The latter can form a part of a standalone system or grid connected system. A single renewable source of energy When integrated with other sources of energy it is termed as hybrid system. This thesis deals with PV, Wind, Hydro system. In this thesis an active power control strategy has been developed such that when the wind alone is not able to meet the energy demand, without compromising the frequency a transition occurs to wind diesel mode so that the energy demand is met. The mathematical model considered uses a STATCOM to meet the reactive power need upon sudden step change in power. The performance and the analysis is done in a user friendly MATLAB/Simulink environment.

One the problem of electric power stability is due to load fluctuations in distribution system
especialy during peak load conditions. One solution which is applied in Smart Grid scheme is through load
shifting or power shifting. In load shifting the load with high power consumption which operates at peak
load shifted its operations outside of the peak load or s some loads with high power consumption do not
operate at the same time, there is a load whose operating time is shifted to reduce peak power. Power
shifting is used when energy from renewable source not directly suplied to load but storage first and
supplied to reduce high power consumption to reduce peak power. Low load factor, ratio between average
power to peak power, may affect to power system operation. If load factor of residential load can keep in
low, it will be certainly help improve the stabi lity of the power system. In this study we will examine the
comparison of load shifting method with power shifting in improving load factor. Load shifting is done to
water pumps and washing machines, because washing machine is shiftable load. Power shiftin g is made
to the output power of the solar power plant, which is used to reduce peak power from the water pump.
Test results show that power shifting can increase load factor value up to 54,9% while load shifting give
load factor value equal to 43,9%.

Optimal Configuration of Wind Farms in Radial Distribution System Using Parti...
Recently, a wide range of wind farm based distributed generations (DGs) are being integrated into distribution systems to fulfill energy demands and to reduce the burden on transmission corridors. The non-optimal configuration of DGs could severely affect the distribution system operations and control. Hence, the aim of this paper is to analyze the wind data in order to build a mathematical model for power output and pinpoint the optimal location. The overall objective is minimization of power loss reduction in distribution system. The five years of wind data was taken from 24o 44’ 29” North, 67o 35’ 9” East coordinates in Pakistan. The optimal location for these wind farms were pinpointed via particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm using standard IEEE 33 radial distribution system. The result reveals that the proposed method helps in improving renewable energy near to load centers, reduce power losses and improve voltage profile of the system. Moreover, the validity and performance of the proposed model were also compared with other optimization algorithms.

Improving Efficiency of Power Systems by Demand Side Management Method
In the smart grid infrastructure based power systems, it is necessary to consider the demand side management to enhance the energy reduction and system control. In many countries the resources are very less so the available
resources have to be used in an efficient manner without any loss. The total loss cannot be avoided but it can be reduced. In the proposed system, the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique is used to distribute the power in the smart grid. Here, the grids are arranged in such a way that the losses in it are reduced. The load connected to the grid is rearranged according to their use. It uses a new and stochastic scheduling technique to handle the uncertainties in the power system. Solar and wind power are taken in account for twenty four hours and the values are given to the PSO algorithm. The experiment was conducted by MATLAB and the results show that the efficiency level of wind and solar power systems was increased by an appreciable level. The proposed technique is compared with the normal system without using Demand Side Management (DSM) and it shows that the proposed system gives better results than the existing systems.

Microgrid energy management system for smart home using multi-agent system
This paper proposes a multi-agent system for energy management in a microgrid for smart home applications, the microgrid comprises a photovoltaic source, battery energy storage, electrical loads, and an energy management system (EMS) based on smart agents. The microgrid can be connected to the grid or operating in island mode. All distributed sources are implemented using MATLAB/Simulink to simulate a dynamic model of each electrical component. The agent proposed can interact with each other to find the best strategy for energy management using the java agent development framework (JADE) simulator. Furthermore, the proposed agent framework is also validated through a different case study, the efficiency of the proposed approach to schedule local resources and energy management for microgrid is analyzed. The simulation results verify the efficacy of the proposed approach using Simulink/JADE co-simulation.

resources have to be used in an efficient manner without any loss. The total loss cannot be avoided but it can be reduced. In the proposed system, the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique is used to distribute the power in the smart grid. Here, the grids are arranged in such a way that the losses in it are reduced. The load connected to the grid is rearranged according to their use. It uses a new and stochastic scheduling technique to handle the uncertainties in the power system. Solar and wind power are taken in account for twenty four hours and the values are given to the PSO algorithm. The experiment was conducted by MATLAB and the results show that the efficiency level of wind and solar power systems was increased by an appreciable level. The proposed technique is compared with the normal system without using Demand Side Management (DSM) and it shows that the proposed system gives better results than the existing systems.

This also decreases the proportion of energy stabilization. This article presents the modeling of hybrid micro grids for power system configuration performed in the MATLAB SIMULINK environment. The present work mainly covers the network operation mode of hybrid network. Local uses of photovoltaic (PV) energy within neighborhood PV prosumers become more economical than the individual operation of prosumers. In the present work, the hourly optimized total cost of energy sharing of peer-to-peer (P2P) PV prosumers for a microgrid is proposed. Initially, a dynamic internal pricing model is prepared for the energy sharing operation. Furthermore, considering the adjustable load of prosumers, an equiponderant cost model is formulated concerning economic costs and user interest. Finally, the formulated cost model is transformed into an optimization problem and is solved using the krill herd algorithm to get the ultimate optimized hourly total cost of energy sharing. This optimized cost provides the maximum economic profit to all the participating PV prosumers in the microgrid.

This paper explores the use of deep learning to optimize the performance of a peer-to-peer energy system with an intelligent master controller. The goal addresses inefficiencies caused by energy seasonality by predicting hourly power consumption through a deep learning algorithm. The intelligent master controller was designed to manage the collaborative energy system, and the deep learning technique was employed as an optimization scheme to forecast power system performance for more efficient utilization. The deep learning algorithm was trained using dataset from American electric power, where consumer load data serves as input, and forecasted power serves as output. The forecasted power was then used as input to the intelligent master controller, which determines suitable power supply for generation and storage based on the predicted demand. The experiment results show promising accuracy with a root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.1819 for hourly energy consumption averaged over a year, 0.2419 for hourly energy consumption averaged over a month, 0.0662 for hourly energy consumption averaged per day, and 0.0217 for hourly energy consumption. These findings demonstrate that the system is well-trained and capable of accurately predicting the energy required by the intelligent master controller, thus enhancing the overall performance of the peer-to-peer energy system.

This paper designs a microgrid energy controller capable of creating a charging or discharging schedule for electric vehicles (EVs), aiming at leveraging the integration of renewable energy and shaving the peak load in the microgrid. Dynamically activated on each time slotto cope with the prediction error for the power consumption and the renewable energy generation, the controller calculates the number of EVs to charge or make discharge first. Then, a greedy algorithm-based scheduler selects EVs according to the expected energy potentialduring their stays. The potential is the integral of a supply-demand margin function from thecurrent time to the expected departure time. A simulator is implemented for performance evaluation, comparing with uncoordinated scheduling, according to the number of EVs aswell as the behavior of energy load and production. The experiment result shows that theproposed scheme can reduce the energy waste by 16.9 %, cut down the microgrid-level energy insufficiency by 12.2 %, and enhance the amount of electricity supplied to EVs by 37.3%, respectively, for given parameter setting.

Microbial interaction
Microorganisms interacts with each other and can be physically associated with another organisms in a variety of ways.
One organism can be located on the surface of another organism as an ectobiont or located within another organism as endobiont.
Microbial interaction may be positive such as mutualism, proto-cooperation, commensalism or may be negative such as parasitism, predation or competition
Types of microbial interaction
Positive interaction: mutualism, proto-cooperation, commensalism
Negative interaction: Ammensalism (antagonism), parasitism, predation, competition
I. Mutualism:
It is defined as the relationship in which each organism in interaction gets benefits from association. It is an obligatory relationship in which mutualist and host are metabolically dependent on each other.
Mutualistic relationship is very specific where one member of association cannot be replaced by another species.
Mutualism require close physical contact between interacting organisms.
Relationship of mutualism allows organisms to exist in habitat that could not occupied by either species alone.
Mutualistic relationship between organisms allows them to act as a single organism.
Examples of mutualism:
i. Lichens:
Lichens are excellent example of mutualism.
They are the association of specific fungi and certain genus of algae. In lichen, fungal partner is called mycobiont and algal partner is called
II. Syntrophism:
It is an association in which the growth of one organism either depends on or improved by the substrate provided by another organism.
In syntrophism both organism in association gets benefits.

In this theoretical example of syntrophism, population 1 is able to utilize and metabolize compound A, forming compound B but cannot metabolize beyond compound B without co-operation of population 2. Population 2is unable to utilize compound A but it can metabolize compound B forming compound C. Then both population 1 and 2 are able to carry out metabolic reaction which leads to formation of end product that neither population could produce alone.
Examples of syntrophism:
i. Methanogenic ecosystem in sludge digester
Methane produced by methanogenic bacteria depends upon interspecies hydrogen transfer by other fermentative bacteria.
Anaerobic fermentative bacteria generate CO2 and H2 utilizing carbohydrates which is then utilized by methanogenic bacteria (Methanobacter) to produce methane.
ii. Lactobacillus arobinosus and Enterococcus faecalis:
In the minimal media, Lactobacillus arobinosus and Enterococcus faecalis are able to grow together but not alone.
The synergistic relationship between E. faecalis and L. arobinosus occurs in which E. faecalis require folic acid
