the written report
Written reports permit
greater use of visual
aids.
Oral presentations, on
other hand, permit none
of the techniques like
paragraphing,
punctuation etc.
Reader Control of Written
Presentation
The speaker controls the
pace of an oral report, while
the reader control the pace
of a written report.
When receiving an oral
report, however, listeners
cannot control the pace of
the presentation.
Emphasis on Correction
in Writing
Written reports put more
stress on correctness.
When you present an oral
report, on the other hand,
you may be more lax in
following rules.

First, determine the goal and
what you must do to reach it.
In the process, of determining
your goal, you must be aware
of your general objective.
PLANNING THE ORAL REPORT
Organization of Content
Next, organize content. Either
the indirect or direct order is
acceptable.
However, the indirect order is
more common.
Organization for oral and
written reports is much the
same expect that oral reports
usually have a closing
summary.
