My.PTTS’s Public Transportation, is the most advanced
system for automatic ticketing access.
The system implements e-ticketing of 4 types:
• Barcode tickets (1D or 2D) for Single One Way or Round-
Trip
• Smart RFID cards for Day for weekly or monthly tickets
• M-ticketing:mobileticketing using spectatorsmart phone
The system keeps track of each ticket, according to pre-
defined rules.
The system has many advantages and suits all kind on
transportation type! (all kinds of transportation?)
How it works:
The system works in a way similar to a human steward –
the “ticket taker”:
First, the system Entry Validator reads the admission ticket
or smart card, and verifies date/time, for site, gate, etc:
The Validator also checks ticket authenticity to eliminate
frog tickets.
Next, the system verifies the tickets haven’t been used yet!
If all approved, the system releases the entry turnstile, for
entry of one person.
The system keeps track of each ticket, according to pre-
defined rules.
Designed to facilitate the management of public transport
systems, it allows intelligent planning of urban centre mo-
bility needs.
Boss Software is recognized for the quality, customization
and cutting edge technology of its solutions. Projects like
Single One Way, Round-Trip, Day, Week or Month ticket, for
Metro, Bus or Rail.
Boss My.PTTS is a modular information system containing
the following modules:
	 BAP (BUS ACCESS PASS)
	 MAP (METRO ACCESS PASS)
	 TAP (TRAIN ACCESS PASS)
All modules are based on the Boss Ticketing Media (BTM).
A Boss BTM is a new ticket that provides customers with
access through My.PTTS (Bus/Metro/Train) turnstiles and
validators. Tickets provided are for One way, Round Trip,
Daily, Weekly or Monthly Passes. A BTM ticket has a “smart
chip” and antenna embedded into the ticket. The “smart chip”
technology lets you have a seamless transfer to one or all
transport means. BTM enabled tickets have a logo on the
upper right corner and the passenger name (for tickets with
a duration longer than a day).

TICKETING SYSTEM
Tickets Printing and Selling
This may be done in few ways: (the following ways)
• Print in Advance: in this way, the tickets are printed
in bulk. Then, they are delivered to all ticket booths,
to be sold “as it is”, in city box offices, etc.
• Real time POS selling: This is a more expensive way,
since it requires each POS to be computerized, with
ticket printer.
• Online selling, by the Internet: passengers can buy
tickets directly from your web site.
The passengers purchase tickets from his/her PC. The pur-
chase is final by printing the tickets at the passenger’s own
printer, and the printout is used as it is at the gate of the
station or on the bus! Yes, My.PTTS Entry Validator directly
reads and validates the ticket, and opens the turnstile!
No need to replace the printout with “real” tickets in the
stadium ticket booths!
Note: This part of the system may be done by My.PTTS
or by any local provider the caustomer wants!
Access Validators
This is the most important part of the access system.
The Ticket Validator is the “front” of the system: this is
what all visitors see but more important: this is what
they use!
• The Ticket Validator can work with some or all 3 ticket
technologies, including tickets, smart cards and print
@ home.
• The Entry Validator is the right device for My.PTTS, un-
like a standard card reader or barcode scanner, since:
▶▶ The ticket validation must be fast- a quarter of
a second. In order to give that response time, it
must have all the information in its own memory,
and not communicate with the main database for
each ticket…
▶▶ In case of malfunction in the main computer, or
fault in the communication- the Validator must
continue working. A simple card reader has no
memory and must communicate with the host
computer all the time.
▶▶ Turnstile control: only the Entry Validator, made for
this specific task, has all the elements to control
the turnstile, collect feedback from it, etc.
▶▶ Display: The Validators have clear 2 line text
display, which shows the status of the card, the
reason why it is rejected (such as: “wrong type”)
etc. There are also LED’s lamps and a buzzer…
to help the visitors!
▶▶ A Ticket Scanner is just the reading element, while
the Validator has all other elements you should
have in order to have a working “entry device”.
▶▶ The tickets and cards Validators directly control
the turnstile and can also turn on lamps showing
the visitor class: child, adult, etc.
▶▶ This device must be made of metal – not plastic
– to stand vandalism.
Access Software
• The Access Software runs at the My.PTTS Server.
• It controls the Validators, the tickets and cards – under
the control of the person who operates the system.
• The software has pre - designed pages for all its tasks.
• If there are stolen or lost tickets – the software notifies
the Validators not to accept them.
• The software gets information from all the Validators,
the turnstiles, and the used tickets.
• It also monitors the amount of people in, and much
more…
• The software is very flexible- any change in the prices
or schedules, is easily controlled in real time, only in
seconds…
Turnstiles
My.PTTS’s Ticket Validator can control any electrically con-
trolled turnstiles.
Whether it is old or new, low or high, 3 or 4 wings… we
can use it. In short, there are 3 main types of turnstiles:
• Low tripod turnstiles: This type has 3 arms, and
since it is low, turnstiles must be supervised by a gate
keeper or a steward, who makes sure no one jumps over
or goes under the arms…
• 3/4 Turnstiles: A middle height units, from 1 meter
to 1.3 meters. They give much better blocking than the
tripods, while keeping a lower profile than the full height
models.
• Full height turnstiles are 230cm high, and manage
to prevent any attempt for “sneaking in”… They look like
“full security”- massive and strong.
The 4 main parts of Public Transportation Access Ticketing System
USING ACCESS SYSTEM
Increasing income:
Accumulated experience
in the world shows that
sitesthatinstallautomated

cantlyincreasetheirprof-
its! Significant reduction
in break-ins will result in
grow revenues!

ing, at the same time, he

job will be to make sure
thatguestsarenotjumping
over gates! The system
will do all the rest!
New marketing
possibilities:
Pre-saleofticketsatunions,
hotels, and other sites,
discount in business and
many more options.
Securityimprovement:
Depending on each site
the following issues are
important: Improving se-
curity, when one knows
that only a valid ticket
has access. This is due
to the use of the machine
instead of a steward. The
machine has no relatives
and no friends.
Image improvement:
Using advanced equip-
ment, turnstiles, smart
card,andsoon,youtrans-
mit to your passengers a
clear message: “We are
modern,weinvestinentry
andsecuritymethods,we
relate seriously to us and
our passengers”. These
issues are important to
goodwill, return passen-
gers,recommendationsof
visiting friends, or media
coverageoftheinstitutions
in the region…
Crowd’s flow
improvement:
These methods allow
you to bring in more au-
diences,inlesstime,with
no queues, delays, and
arguments etc.
Security and Safety:
Preventing fake tickets
andunauthorizedpersons,
all this has a significant
impact on safety in the
public transport.
Especially for Bus Tracking System
• Improved monitoring of the fleet
• Consistent operational data - better management of fleet
• Information for passengers:
▶▶ At Bus stops
▶▶ By mobile
• GPS location, communication vi mobile (GSM / GPRS)
System Operation
PassengersendsanSMSmessagestatingthenumberofthebusstop
• Passenger receives information on the arrival of the next bus
• Chooses the best option
Benefits for all
Passenger: with information about the next bus times
• Transportation company: offers an additional and differentiated
service, which can be charged through its utility.
• Phone network provider: receives traffic and visibility.
