Jimmy serves as the voice of protest throughout the play. Make a list of the ways Jimmy fulfills this
role.
In Davis drama the character Jimmy serves as a voice of protest against the works highlighting of
discrimination against Aborigines between 1929 to 1934. Jimmy is an Aboriginal man who despises
the fact he is not equal in society to the white man and is not regarded as a person by the government.
Through Jimmy s words and actions we see him openly stand up for himself and his people in they
way they are treated by white people subsequently fulfilling his role as the voice of protest in the play.
The most dramatic example of Jimmy fulfilling his service is when he argues with Mr Neville, the ...

City Ordinance Violation
Violation Of City Ordinance/Utility Water Requirements On 05 23 2017 at approximately 1625 hours,
I was contacted by public works supervisor Jeremy Bustos (TX DL # 06660917) in reference to a
utility water meter violation at 404 W. 3rd Avenue. Upon arrival, I made contact with Bustos, who
visually showed me a water hose buried under the ground running from the next trailer over that was
connected to city utilities. The trailer had a water hose fitting connected into the trailer that did not
have the utilities turned on, therefore bypassing the city s water utility requirements, a violation of the
city ordinance. I made contact with Crystal Salinas (TX DL # 17969549), Salinas was advised, she

Hazing And Sororities
In August of this year, hundreds of thousands of 18 year old young men and women begin their
college careers. These students have nothing but hope and optimism as they start to venture out on
their own. As they start to meet new people, experience life on their own, and engage in a rigorous
curriculum, many students find themselves looking for a social outlet. NCAA sports, club sports,
church group, business club, architecture club, honors society, African American youth group,
Hispanic youth group and thousands of other social/professional clubs surround campus to help
students flourish in their new home. These social outlets allow for students to meet people with similar
interests and aspirations, but they also challenge students to try new ... Show more content on

The techniques that are used by all fraternities and sororities are called rushing and hazing. Rushing is
the act of popularizing a given fraternity or sorority to attract new members. As mentioned in the
introduction, the alternate forms of rushing cover a large spectrum, but they all have the same goal: be
the best to attract the best. Hazing is another variable method closely aligned with fraternities and
sororities, but hazing for different fraternities and sororities can have vastly different outcomes.
Hazing, in its most simple and basic form, is the imposition of strenuous or complicated tasks as a
form of initiation. In contrast to popular belief, a lot of normal activity is considered hazing. For
example, a college football team might tell the freshman that they are responsible for cleaning up
loose garbage on the field after a practice. As mild as this example might be, hazing can be taken to an
extreme and often has poor outcomes that can severely damage the psyche of an individual. However,
a sense of tradition and continuation continually inspires hazing among social groups, but fraternities
and sororities especially. Hazing has become a form a bonding that allow new initiates to become
closer as a brotherhood or sisterhood; these two both being the most important part of fraternities and
sororities. To create an everlasting bond, Greek organizations promote ultimate a familial intimacy
that is unparalleled by other social groups. It is in this strive for brotherhood and sisterhood that
mistakes are made and people begin to

The Atmospheric Concentration Of Carbon Dioxide And The...
The Earth as humans know it is slowly dying right before their very eyes. The development of
massive industrial infrastructures, mechanical and electrical transportation units, and even the use of
resources to keep humans occupied in their own mental world have brought upon the increase of
global destruction of the planet s delicate ecosystem and natural climates. However, there are options
for decreasing the critical levels in order to conserve time for newer and broader expansions for the
human species, but there must be a much more significant analysis of Earth s current condition before
we can create a hypothesis. Therefore, the creation of a highly advanced polar orbiting satellite that is
attested to previous models will ensure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A clear and decisive path to resolve this global issue is to launch programs that could potentially
evolve into colonizing the Moon, or possibly Mars. However, the amount of time to develop such a
rigorous mission would consume ages of work and analysis. As the result, the development of a polar
orbiting satellite should offer the ability to further estimate the lifespan of the Earth s Ozone layer and
to overall observe Earth s conditions to propose early warning signs and enact restrictions of human
pollution. In addition, the satellite s presence within orbit should not exceed over thirty five years
because of the rapidly growing advancements in technology that will surely have the satellite become
obsolete. Despite the fact that this mission is costly, the abundance of satellites within Earth s orbit can
be a hazard to astronauts, to future missions, and to the people on top of the planet s crust.
Mission Users and Elements Despite of NASA s prestigious works in space technology, NOAA should
overall have control of the satellite due to the federal agency heavily focusing on the planet s oceanic
and atmospheric conditions. However, NASA will be the supervisor and coordinator for the launch of
the spacecraft into orbit. In addition, information gathered from the spacecraft s instruments shall

Tax Section 311 Taxability of a Corporation on Dividends
A corporation that distributes property that has appreciated in value must recognize a gain at the time
of distribution. The corporation is treated as if it had sold the property. The gain equals the property s
fair market value less its adjusted basis. Code Sec. (b). However, the corporation does not recognize a
loss if the property had declined in value. Also, the corporation recognizes no gain or loss if t
distributes its own stock rights to its shareholders. Code Sec. (a). The character of the recognized gain
depends on the property distributed; thus it may be ordinary income, capital gain, or Section 1231
gain.
An example illustrating this section was the Tax Court, deciding in favor of the IRS, held in Pope
Talbot, Inc., v. Com, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Tax Court, per Judge Ruwe, issued an order on May 8, 1995, denying Pope Talbot s motion and
granting the IRS s motion. The court s opinion characterized the issue before it as one of first
impression, and found resort to the legislative history of the statute necessary since the court was
unable to achieve...certainty based on the language of the statute. After reviewing the legislative
history of IRC Sec. 311, the court observed the following: It is apparent that the purpose underlying
IRC Sec. 311(d) was to tax the appreciation in value that occurred while the corporation held the
property and to prevent a corporation from avoiding tax on the inherent gain by distributing such
property to its shareholders...It follows that we must focus on the value of the Washington properties
as owned by petitioner and value them as if petitioner had sold them at fair market value at the time of
distribution.
The court also remarked that theoretically the partnership could have sold the property at fair market
value and then distributed the proceeds. If this had been done, the court continued, the shareholders
would then have been able to realize a proportionate share of the full FMV of the property distributed.
The court found unpersuasive Pope Talbot s argument that the plain meaning of IRC Sec. 311(d)
mandated that distributions of property to shareholders be valued by

Separation Of Powers
To the People of the State New York: To what extent would we have to go to be able to properly lay
the divisions of power in the government and implement the separation of powers as written in the
Constitution? We must analyze the structure of government to find a means of keeping departments in
check. So we can develop this theory, some observations will be noted in order to shape a clearer idea
on the structure of government. For a strong substructure to be established for the separate powers of
government, each branch must have a different purpose so that members of each department would
not be sharing control over the same appointments. If this rule were strictly enforced, then every
branch judicial, executive, and legislative would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The best control is undoubtedly for the government to depend on the will of the people For the private
interests of every person to be held higher than public rights it is necessary to arrange distribute power
accordingly so that they may check each other and balance out. Dividing power between each branch
equally is impossible. The legislative branch tends to be the most dominant. To solve this is for the
legislature to be divided into two different branches as stated in the Constitution: Congress is split into
The House of Representatives and the Senate. This is necessary to ensure security against the
possibility of legislative dictatorship. If these principles are followed accordingly and applied as a
standard for both State and federal constitution it is known that the general government is closer for
passing the ability of self defense for each branch than the State government. There are also two things
to make note of that are befitting to the federal system. First, America is a not a single republic where
the power of the people is given to a single structure of government. Therefore, more security is
needed for the public rights to not be violated. Each government would restrain itself and each other.
Second, there are two ways to defend oneself against the evil of a majority faction: either by having
citizens emerging with their own opinions

Lab Report On The Ph Of The Potential Hydrogen Ion...
Chapter 7 Lab Report
Background Research pH is a measure of the potential hydrogen ion concentration of a solution.
Solutions that have low pH s or a ph level below 7 are considered acidic. Solutions that have a high
pH level or above 7 are considered basic. The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a solution may
be. Some examples of solutions that have high acidity and a low pH level are Battery acid, lemon
juice, and vinegar. Some solutions that are basic and a high pH level are soapy water, baking soda, and
drain cleaner. Temperature plays a role on how high or low a solutions pH level is. For example, the
colder the solution the less acidic it would be therefore it would have a high pH level. For warmer
solutions there would be a lower pH level and high acidity. Some interesting facts are when swimming
if a pool has a high or low pH level you could get dry skin and burning eyes. Another interesting fact
is that ph is important in many things such as medicine, biology, chemistry, food, science and many
more. Orange juice pH ranges from 3.3 to 4.19, but generally around 3.5. Citric acid is what gives the
orange its acidity, and also its sour flavor. This means that it has a high to moderately high acidity.
Scientific Concepts:
Acids Compounds that have properties with the kinds of reactions they undergo. Acids also release or
donate hydrogen ions. This relates to our lab because orange juice is filled with citric acid, and we are

Polytheism In Latin America
Spain and Portugal successfully colonized South America during the 15th century and as a result
exploited the land they conquered to their benefit. The Treaty of Tordesillas divided the region
between the two great powers and allowed them to do what they wished with the land they controlled.
Religious missionaries worked to convert the natives to the scripture of the Catholic Church while
simultaneously enslaving them and claiming their resources as their own. The indigenous people were
infuriated with the arrogance of their European conquerors and found inspiration from the United
States of America and the French to lead a revolution of their own. The consequences of these series
of uprisings and the basis for their desire to possess independence is still being witnessed in modern
day Mexico, through the Zapatistas. The Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas were three prominent cultures in
South America. Polytheism, human sacrifice, agriculture, and a self governed empires were all aspects
of Latin American civilizations prior to their colonization. Once the Spanish and Portuguese

the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) the United States of America and Canadian
farming giants are given the option to buy or rent their land which causes a financial concern for the
people. The day the NAFTA was put in place, on January 1st 1994, the Zapatistas rose up and started

The General Theory Of Employment, Interest, And Money
In the renowned work, The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money John Maynard
Keynes breaks down his general theory of mercantilism and free trade into seven different section.
Each section talking about his opposition to economic theorists and his views on the advantage of
having an adaptable and well prepared system to maintain an efficient economy.
In his first argument he starts off by explaining how for the past one hundred years there has been a
remarkable divergence of opinion between practical men and economic theorists (Chapter 23, I).
Unlike the economic theorists the practical men favor mercantilism, an economic system set around
strict government regulations in order to unify a nation in hopes to increase monetary ... Show more

Which states that most new investments are either home investments, which can eventually be
governed, or foreign investment, which is determined by balance trade. The two investments together
make up aggregate investment, which is the sum of all expenditures on investment. As he moves on he
argues that If the domestic rate of interest falls...the increase in the domestic level of costs will begin
to react unfavorably on the balance of foreign trade (Chapter 23, II). Causing an influx in a country s
increasing costs and falling rates leads to another country s fall in cost and rise in rates. Mercantilists
who were accused of opposing trade restrictions later realized that favorable balance of trade was
more efficient. However, Keynes makes a great argument in that he states that the fact that the
advantage which our own country gains from a favorable balance is liable to involve an equal
disadvantage to some other country (Chapter 23, II). So it is important that economists and
government officials make better and educated decisions that helps maintain a nations economy.
The third and fourth section of Keynes argument brings up multiple references to other economists
and professors on their views of mercantilism. In his reference to an article from Professor Heckscher,
who believes that the mercantilists policy killed two birds with one stone (Chapter 23, III). Keynes

Night Father Son Relationship
New studies show that father son relationships affect grown men, and how they deal with stressful
situations on a day to day basis. (Tobin 1) Father and Son relationships are a crucial part of a person s
life and it shapes who the person will become; however, it is in the most strenuous circumstances that,
in order to survive, a strong father son relationship is vital. In Hamlet, a play by William Shakespeare

The Pathophysiology of Acute Renal Failure, Questions and...
Problem: A man arrives at a clinic with complaints of asthenia, malaise, headache, weight gain, and a
decrease in urination. A tentative diagnosis of acute renal failure is made.
1. Explain the pathophysiology of acute renal failure. Include prerenal, intrarenal, and postrenal
causes.
The Urinary System plays an important role in our everyday life. It s most important functions are
maintenance of homeostasis, manufacture hormones that we need, and to process our wastes for
elimination. Our kidneys are part of this whole system; bad habits and lifestyle affect the whole cycle.
This system has a long list of disorders and diseases that an individual may acquire; one of these is
Acute Renal Failure (ARF). Its fast development impairs the kidneys unless the problem is found
immediately and treated. In Acute Renal Failure (ARF) the kidneys suddenly stops working. It loses
its functions, which are: eliminate wastes, maintain fluid balance, and preserve our body s electrolytes.
Blood enters the kidneys through the renal arteries and leaves through the renal veins. The strength of
pressure exerted onto the kidneys is what makes the glomerular filtration work. The glomerulus, or the
capillary network inside the Bowman s capsule, is the filtration system. This pressure depends upon
the flow of blood and the resistance between the afferent and efferent arterioles. The afferent aterioles
brings blood to the glomeruli; while the efferent arteriole takes the blood away. When the flow

1. DEFINITION AND DIAGNOSIS
The Orthotics field is often associated with upper limb orthoses, such as an airplane splint, lower limb
orthoses, such as AFOs (ankle foot orthosis) and FOs (foot orthosis), or spinal orthoses. However,
there are also orthotic devices for other areas of the body, like the head cranial helmets. Also referred
to as cranial bands, helmet molding therapy, or cranial orthosis, is a type of treatment where an infant
is fitted with a special helmet to correct the shape of the skull (Kieffer). Cranial helmets resemble
bicycle helmets in appearance as displayed by Figure 1. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
regulate a large portion of cranial helmets, similar to other medical devices. Under the FDA, cranial
orthoses are categorized as a Class II medical device. A class II devices represent a medium risk
category for which FDA establishes that additional special controls are needed to ensure safety and
efficacy. Examples of class II devices would include sutures and bone drills (Littlefield). Cranial
Helmets are designed and/or fitted by an Orthotist (an allied health practitioner). In the majority of
cases, cranial helmets are constructed out of various plastic polymers with a multitude of decorative
patterns and colors.
The first step of helmet molding therapy is evaluation via measurement. An Orthotist will visually
observe the head for ear alignment and facial symmetry. In the past, cranial casts were used to obtain
precise measurements.

The Change Of Lancelot s Character In Oedipus The King
In the third book a new character is introduced, a character that can also be seen as a typical hero.
Lancelot is a knight serving under Arthur, but as he wants to serve his typical knightly duties and tells
Arthur that I want to go on a quest. I want to find an adventure (ch. 6). Questing was very typical for
knights, in order to prove their worth, and to achieve eternal glory. Book three centers around the story
of Lancelot and his hero s journey, rather than Arthur s. Lancelot s character is equally as complex as
Arthur s as both have their code of morals and loyalty to the other, but at the same time face
challenges that make them question said loyalties.

Policies and Politics of Government in Charge of a Public...
Policies and Politics of Government in Change of a Public Agency:
Government policy can be described as the declaration that defines the objective of the priorities and
goals of the government. Since these policies outline the rules, role, and procedures, they develop a
framework in which the government and its citizens can carry out their specific duties. The public
policies are created by all governmental levels and target the entire population or particular groups.
The process of developing these policies involves the engagement of governmental officials and
citizens. On the other hand, politics of government provide the platform for the development,
establishment, and implementation of public policy. Therefore, the politics of government are the
platform with which public policies are adopted and implemented. Governmental policies and politics
play a critical role in the realization of change in a public agency since the policies are developed and
implemented at various levels (Dukeshire Thurlow, 2002). Since these policies may range from formal
regulations and legislation to informal guidelines in an agency, understanding them is important in the
achievement of change in a public agency. A Public agency basically functions based on the
established policies and politics in the government. Therefore, the accomplishment of the change in a
public agency requires an increased understanding of the politics and policies of government. It s

Power In The Shawshank Redemption
The Shawshank Redemption Throughout human society there has always been a struggle for justice,
equality, and control. While these concepts are ideal and socially acceptable to most people they can
also lead to a state of being in power for other people. In the film The Shawshank Redemption, the
filmmaker achieves a connection with the audience by showing reoccurring instances of the struggle
for power between the protagonist Andy Dufresne and Warden Samuel Norton through social status
and the desire for perceived justice, equality and control. In order to understand the fight for power in
the film it is important to be aware of the social classes that form inside the prison walls. As the film
opens Andy Dufresne is one of the newest inmates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Andy may be low on the social scale inside the prison, on the outside world he would most

president of a bank. The Warden uses Andy s banking talents to his own advantage, but later on in the
film Andy flips this around and takes advantage of the Warden. Being very secretive Andy starts
transferring some of the Warden s money into a fake account he set up for when he gets out of
Shawshank. Similarly as to how The Shawshank Redemption portrays social trends, people tend to
find themselves drawn into different classes or groups in the real world, which an underlying theme
that people can apply to their own lives. In the film Andy uses this to his advantage by using his
outside prison world skills, and by using the perception he is looked at while inside the prison to

Disputes between Texas Rangers and Mexicans
In the late 1800 there were many problems going on, on the border of Mexico and Texas between the
Texas rangers and the Mexicans. The disputes between the Texas Rangers and Mexicans caused many
people to die for no reason. The Texas rangers patrolled the border to stop from anybody going pass
the border or anything that looked suspicious for them. The reason there were so many for why there
were problems on the border but, the main reason was that no one wanted to stop the Texas rangers
because everyone was scared of them. During the time of all the problems on the border many
Mexicans were dying because of the Texas rangers because they killed on sight if you looked

would steel, and kill because no one could stop them because they were the high power. The Mexicans
were treated horrible during that time they would kill them for no reason, treat them horrible, and
when they would kill them they would hang them or any other crude way. The Texas rangers had a lot
of hatred towards the tejanos so they went by the shoot first rule. The tejano kids had to go to separate

Character Analysis Of The Darkness In Emma By Jane Austen
Jane Austen begins the novel Emma by stating, Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and rich, with a
comfortable home and happy disposition, seemed to unite some of the best blessings of existence, and
had lived nearly twenty one years in the world with very little to distress or vex her (1) immediately
giving readers the impression that Emma is a young woman whom the readers should respect and
grow to love throughout the novel. As we continue reading, however, we learn that while Emma has a
respectable reputation and a circle of people who love her and want the best for her, she is extremely
flawed. In the article, The Darkness in Emma, Anita Soloway states, for Emma, beauty, cleverness,
and wealth prove to be mixed blessings at best, for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emma is selfish, unable to see reality as it truly is, and is impulsive, yet, because of her respectable
standing in the social class, people love her and want the best for her and think highly of her. While
discussing Emma with Mr. Knightley, Mrs. Weston states, With all dear Emma s little faults, she is an
excellent creature. Where shall we see a better daughter, or a kinder sister, or a truer friend? No, no;
she has qualities which may be trusted; she will never lead any one really wrong; she will make no
lasting blunder; where Emma errs once, she is in the right a hundred times (25). While her opinion on
Emma does recognize that she has faults and isn t perfect, those flaws are basically overlooked. Mrs.
Weston seems to believe that Emma is a blessing to everyone she encounters, and even when she
creates an issue, it s acceptable because it s assumed she ll do something great to compensate up for it.
This definitely shows what Emma s reputation is like, and how the people close to her view her. One
of Emma s main flaws is the fact that she is extremely impulsive with her actions, and she doesn t stop
to think about what she s doing until the damage is already done. This happens multiple times
throughout the novel, especially when Emma tries to play matchmaker. This is partially due to the fact
that she is unable to see reality clearly, which is what happens during her attempt at bringing Harriet
and Mr. Elton together.

Mud Blindness
Method
Participants
We recruited 18 undergraduate students from a California State University using general class
announcements and one campus posting. Participants were offered academic credit or extra credit for
participating. There were 3 men and 15 women with ages that ranged from 20 27, (M = 22.89, SD =
1.84).
Materials
We used the mud splash paradigm to examine change blindness. Each trial consisted of two Microsoft
PowerPoint images. The first image was of a natural scene and almost identical to the second image,
but a small object was removed from the central area of the scene in the changed image. Additionally
the changed image was nmasked with several high contrast mud splash s, similar to previous research
studies that have used the mud splash paradigm (O Regan et al., 1999), and covered 10%, 20%,, or
40% of the scene. Using Microsoft PowerPoint ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This may have yielded better results, but only when combined with the audio shadowing task. These
results indicated a floor effect because of the insensitive levels of mud splash and the interaction only
at the 40% mud splash level. Future research using this design should include sensitive levels with the
minimum level of mud splash distraction to 40% and increase the range of conditions (Rensink et al.,
1997). The results were similar on a multi modal study where participants completed a verbal
counting task at the same time as a visual search task. Only when the task became cognitively
demanding a significant difference was observed, (Most, 2005). The perception of change in a scene
requires a person to have attended to relevant stimuli and encoded the information into working
memory. Moreover visual change detection occurs when a person has given attention to something.
Yet change blindness occurs because attention had failed to encode the necessary information for
change detection to occur (Rensink, et al.,

Mental Health Act Analysis
The first piece of legislation which supported individual with mental health was the Mad House Act
(1774). This piece of legislation was ineffective as it resulted in negative outcomes for individuals
with mental and physical disabilities, as they were treated in an undignified way in cramped and
unsubstantial conditions being viewed by the public for a penny. However, the Lunacy Act (1845
1930) was a more positive outcome, making it a legal requirement for county owned asylum to be
inspected and had to have licenses for best practice and to promote the rights of the patients within
and outside the facility, although, this was not the case in some facilities where failure and low morale
caused negative impacts to the patients treatments (Lester, 2010). Furthermore, in the 1900 s the
Mental Deficiency Health Act came into implementation in (1913 1938) where children and
vulnerable adults would have been placed institutional settings, until the amendment to the Mental
Health Act (1959). This act abolished the categories of legal distinction of mental health and prevented
those who did not need to go for example, a mother who is unwed and had repeated amount of

And Symbolism In The Necklace, By Guy De Maupassant
Ten years lost on repaying debts, losing money, time, and her beauty; Guy De Maupassant illustrates
in his 1884 short story The Necklace, that self indulgence can cost more than intended. De
Maupassant uses irony and symbolism throughout this common tale of greed. He illustrates the main
character Mathilde Loisel, a very sad and selfish woman, never happy with things in her life, always
in search of finer, richer, and better possessions. Mathilde suffer[s] ceaselessly, feeling herself born to
enjoy all delicacies and all luxuries (para. 3). When her devoted husband provides all he can; even an
invitation to the ball at the palace, Mrs. Loisel is not content. She needs a new dress, and jewelry,
inevitably she borrows a diamond necklace, so she can pretend she is more and has more. She loses
the necklace, and then Mr. and Mrs. Loisel spend 10 years paying off the replacement; only to find out
the original is a fake. Mathilde is a very greedy and selfish woman, with the use of symbolism,
characterization, and social class; De Maupassant illustrates how these traits in human nature can cost
a person everything. She would have liked so much to please, to be envied to be charming, to be
sought after (5). Mathilde s character is always striving to have others see her outside of her reality, to
have someone think of her to be in a higher class of society. De Maupassant uses the class separation
to intensify Mathilde s desires versus reality. She often refers to not having

Persuasive Essay On Gmo-Free Foods
My husband and I live on a fixed income. He s retired and I work as a nanny. As the price of food
continues to rise we ve had to cut back on how much meat we buy, because the prices are so
outrageous. Food companies keep making the packages smaller and jacking up the prices. Our money
doesn t go as far as it used to, and if the utilities or other expenses go up, then it s less money for our
food budget. We also have medical and prescription costs that make up a big portion of our monthly
budget that we have to consider before purchasing food. Please support H.R. 1599, the Safe and
Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015, and help keep food costs down by allowing the FDA to regulate
GMO free foods.
I m equally concerned about the price and quality of the food I buy for us to eat. Recently, several
states have started enacting their own laws concerning GMO free foods. Why does this concern me?
Because the states aren t equipped to handle the task and they aren t going to be willing to work
together on this very important issue. If their regulations aren t working effectively, it has an impact
on more than just their state. Several different agencies in all 50 states we ll be in charge. When a

Climate Change Is An Environmental And Business Issue
Climate change is an environmental and business issue that has gained more and more attention from
society nowadays. The meaning of it seems to be not as easy as its name indicates which is merely a
difference in climate. NASA (2011) reports, Climate change, therefore, is a change in the typical or
average weather of a region or city... Climate change is also a change in Earth s overall climate. This
could be a change in Earth s average temperature, for example. Therefore, climate change in our world
has various effects in our life, which, for example, like extreme weather, global warming, higher sea
level and etc., do really affect our daily life and production process. Understanding what the climate
change is, and why these changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Business plays a vitally important role in this issue because it has been a major contributor to carbon
in the atmosphere. Though climate change could be caused by thousands of reasons, like natural
factors, however, scientists think that the recent phenomenon of global warming can t be explained by
nature alone. Most scientists say it s very likely that most of the warming since the mid 1900s is due to
the burning of coal, oil and gas...This burning adds heat trapping gases, like carbon dioxide, into the
air. These gases are called greenhouse gases (NASA, 2011). The industrial production which needs
tons of fuels and other raw materials burned is an enormous source of greenhouse gases which might
be the most core factor of causing climate change.
Business is also influenced by climate change in return which is changing the landscape of business.
Businesses that depend on water, like skiing industry, bottled spring water industry, the oil industry
and etc., are affected by climate change because these industries need a constant and steady supply of
water including different forms, for instance, snow. Climate is an essential resource for tourism, and
especially for the beach, nature, and winter sport tourism segments. Changing climate and weather

describing Farah Ahmedi s life, the author states, Their only hope was to escape to Pakistan (para. 3).
This quote explains that Farah Ahmedi did not want to leave the country out of her own choice, it was
a necessary decision. Her country was war torn, so she and her mom had no choice. After the very

I. Identification/Historical Context
1a. The first piece of the concert was Divertimento No. 2 in B flat Major, K.137, by Wolfgang

I. Andante
II. Allegro di molto

The composer Mozart was born in Salzburg in the year 1756. Mozart grew up with the privilege of
having a musically influenced family. Mozart s father was a musician who worked as an assistant
concertmaster for the Salzburg court. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was one of the youngest composers
of all time; supposedly composing at the age of five. The symphony was composed in the year 1772 in
Salzburg, Austria. Mozart was 16 when he wrote this symphony as a part of an opera. The opera was

exactly what the Wright Brothers had done in 1899, they have investigated whatever aroused their
curiosity. The Wrights Brothers; Wilbur born in 1867 and Orville born in 1871, they invented the first

sparked their curiosity. Before they were experimenting with planes they owned their own newspaper;

about experimenting with planes, but didn t really know how to start, in the back of the shop they
would write in their journals about their theories and wrote letters to their parents. The brothers started

Analysis Of Sherman Alexie s On The Amtrak
In the poem On the Amtrak from Boston to New York City by Sherman Alexie, the speaker is
portrayed as a Native American Indian who wishes to retake and make known his ownership of Indian
land, which the white people stole. However, his sympathy towards his rivals seems to keep him from

house on the hill there is over two hundred years old, (lines 1 3). He frowns upon her words,
explaining, I have learned / a little more about American history during my few days / back East than
what I expect and far less / of what we should all know of the tribal stories / whose architecture is
15,000 years older / than the corners of the house that sits / museum on the hill. (lines 5 11). The way
the speaker distances himself from American history (line 6) and how he claims all should know tribal
stories (line 8) insinuating he is of tribal descent. Further, he announces, I know the Indians were
living stories / around that pond before Walden s grandparents were born (lines

Hazing is another variable method closely aligned with fraternities and sororities, but hazing for different fraternities and sororities can have vastly different outcomes. Hazing, in its most simple and basic form, is the imposition of strenuous or complicated tasks as a form of initiation. In contrast to popular belief, a lot of normal activity is considered hazing. For example, a college football team might tell the freshman that they are responsible for cleaning up loose garbage on the field after a practice. As mild as this example might be, hazing can be taken to an extreme and often has poor outcomes that can severely damage the psyche of an individual. However, a sense of tradition and continuation continually inspires hazing among social groups, but fraternities and sororities especially. Hazing has become a form a bonding that allow new initiates to become closer as a brotherhood or sisterhood; these two both being the most important part of fraternities and sororities. Separation Of Powers To the People of the State New York: To what extent would we have to go to be able to properly lay the divisions of power in the government and implement the separation of powers as written in the Constitution? We must analyze the structure of government to find a means of keeping departments in check. So we can develop this theory, some observations will be noted in order to shape a clearer idea on the structure of government. Solutions that have low pH s or a ph level below 7 are considered acidic. Solutions that have a high pH level or above 7 are considered basic. The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a solution may be. Some examples of solutions that have high acidity and a low pH level are Battery acid, lemon juice, and vinegar. Some solutions that are basic and a high pH level are soapy water, baking soda, and drain cleaner. Temperature plays a role on how high or low a solutions pH level is. For example, the colder the solution the less acidic it would be therefore it would have a high pH level. For warmer solutions there would be a lower pH level and high acidity. Some interesting facts are when swimming if a pool has a high or low pH level you could get dry skin and burning eyes. Another interesting fact is that ph is important in many things such as medicine, biology, chemistry, food, science and many more. Orange juice pH ranges from 3.3 to 4.19, but generally around 3.5. A tentative diagnosis of acute renal failure is made. 1. Explain the pathophysiology of acute renal failure. Include prerenal, intrarenal, and postrenal causes. The Urinary System plays an important role in our everyday life. It s most important functions are maintenance of homeostasis, manufacture hormones that we need, and to process our wastes for elimination. Our kidneys are part of this whole system; bad habits and lifestyle affect the whole cycle. This system has a long list of disorders and diseases that an individual may acquire; one of these is Acute Renal Failure (ARF). Its fast development impairs the kidneys unless the problem is found immediately and treated. In Acute Renal Failure (ARF) the kidneys suddenly stops working. It loses its functions, which are: eliminate wastes, maintain fluid balance, and preserve our body s electrolytes. Blood enters the kidneys through the renal arteries and leaves through the renal veins. The strength of pressure exerted onto the kidneys is what makes the glomerular filtration work. The glomerulus, or the capillary network inside the Bowman s capsule, is the filtration system. While discussing Emma with Mr. Knightley, Mrs. Weston states, With all dear Emma s little faults, she is an excellent creature. Where shall we see a better daughter, or a kinder sister, or a truer friend? No, no; she has qualities which may be trusted; she will never lead any one really wrong; she will make no lasting blunder; where Emma errs once, she is in the right a hundred times (25). While her opinion on Emma does recognize that she has faults and isn t perfect, those flaws are basically overlooked. Mrs. Weston seems to believe that Emma is a blessing to everyone she encounters, and even when she creates an issue, it s acceptable because it s assumed she ll do something great to compensate up for it. This definitely shows what Emma s reputation is like, and how the people close to her view her. One of Emma s main flaws is the fact that she is extremely impulsive with her actions, and she doesn t stop to think about what she s doing until the damage is already done. This happens multiple times throughout the novel, especially when Emma tries to play matchmaker. This is partially due to the fact that she is unable to see reality clearly, which is what happens during her attempt at bringing Harriet and Mr. Elton together. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, he refers to the elderly woman whom he converses with as white (line 1), which implies he is not; there would be no real reason of mentioning skin color unless it was significant to him. The negative outlook the speaker has on the white woman s definition of history is apparent in his rejection of her historical claim.
