Perception is the interpretation of sensory information, allowing us to be aware of objects. It involves principles such as figure-ground relations and laws of proximity, similarity, and closure. Factors like interests, emotions and past experiences can influence perception. Errors in perception include illusions, which are misinterpretations of stimuli, and hallucinations, which involve perceiving something that
