Layout of a diary entry 
At a tourist info office dialogue

Nouns: platform, timetable, coach, single and return tickets, 
accommodation, luggage, passport, journey, belongings, means of 
transport… 
Verbs: book, catch, arrive, get, miss, travel … 
Adjectives: convenient, cozy, high-speed 
Adverbs: for, since, last, already, yet, just… 
Collocations: book a ticket, catch a train, miss a flight

Present Perfect Simple 
Past simple 
Used to + infinitive

Description , narration, dialogues.

This unit is divided up into 3 consecutive sessions of 50’ each. 
Session 1: 
Warm up: Brainstorming-describing pictures about touristic places in the world. 
Presentation: Present new vocab used when travelling as well as different means of 
transport. 
Practice: Reading a text about mobile homes 
T/F sentences 
Wh- questions 
Production: Pair work- Talk about your last holidays with your partner 
Session 2: 
Warm up: A quiz: Are you ready to travel to the UK (the whole class) 
Presentation: Collocations and words used together, eg: book a ticket, catch a train.. 
Practice: Watch a video (At a tourist info office) 
Pay attention to vocabulary used. 
Production: Role Play (pair work) with cue cards. 
Prepare a dialogue asking for info according to travel brochures at a tourist info office. 
Session 3: 
Warm up: 
Presentation: Verbal tenses: past simple (used to+ inf) and present perfect 
Practice: Listening about people talking about travel experiences 
T/F statements 
Wh- questions 
Production: Writing. Write a diary entry. Imagine you are on holidays and write an entry 
in your diary talking about your experiences. (send it by mail to the teacher)

The methodology will be active and participative. Students will work individually, 
in pairs and the class as a whole. 
The teacher will provide the students with the structures and vocabulary

Language Content / Communication Vocabulary Nouns: platform, timetable, coach, single and return tickets, accommodation, luggage, passport, journey, belongings, means of transport… Verbs: book, catch, arrive, get, miss, travel … Adjectives: convenient, cozy, high-speed Adverbs: for, since, last, already, yet, just… Collocations: book a ticket, catch a train, miss a flight - Structures Present Perfect Simple Past simple Used to + infinitive

  • 4. 6. Activities This unit is divided up into 3 consecutive sessions of 50’ each. Session 1: Warm up: Brainstorming-describing pictures about touristic places in the world. Presentation: Present new vocab used when travelling as well as different means of transport. Practice: Reading a text about mobile homes T/F sentences Wh- questions Production: Pair work- Talk about your last holidays with your partner Session 2: Warm up: A quiz: Are you ready to travel to the UK (the whole class) Presentation: Collocations and words used together, eg: book a ticket, catch a train.. Practice: Watch a video (At a tourist info office) Pay attention to vocabulary used. Production: Role Play (pair work) with cue cards. Prepare a dialogue asking for info according to travel brochures at a tourist info office. Session 3: Warm up: Presentation: Verbal tenses: past simple (used to+ inf) and present perfect Practice: Listening about people talking about travel experiences T/F statements Wh- questions Production: Writing. Write a diary entry. Imagine you are on holidays and write an entry in your diary talking about your experiences. (send it by mail to the teacher)

  • 6. Methodology The methodology will be active and participative. Students will work individually, in pairs and the class as a whole. The teacher will provide the students with the structures and vocabulary required, so they can understand, build their knowledge and put it into practice. New technologies are also used. Key Competences Linguistic competence, mathematical competence, social, digital, learn to learn, emotional, autonomy and competence in knowledge of and interaction with the physical world. Evaluati on criteria: To learn vocabulary about travelling and means of transport To carry out a conversation at a tourist info office To be able to write an entry in a diary about travelling experiences using the required verb tenses Evaluation instruments: Continuous assesment of each student by means of direct observation (classwork) Check writing and self-correction errors Check speaking, pair work Self-evaluation sheet at the end of the unit
