 A reason to be attentive
 A continued education course without tuition
Prerequisite for advise
(Prov 1:7) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Knowledge= the fear of the Lord
(Job 28:28) And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from
evil is understanding.
Wisdom= the fear of the Lord
Understanding= to depart from evil
(Prov 9:10) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is
understanding.
Wisdom= the Fear of the Lord
Understanding= knowledge of the holy
(Ps 111:10) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they
that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Wisdom 101= the fear of the Lord
Good understanding= do His commandments (his commandments are to keep you from evil)
(Ps 119:98-104) Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they
are ever with me.
99) I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.

Solomon’s plea
(Prov 1:8) My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
9) For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
(Prov 15:5) A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
Hear the instruction, not follow the example- your parents may have had to learn the hard way, or maybe even
now are ‘holden with the chains of iniquity and sin’ [pr. 5:22]
An ornament is designed to make you stand out from the crowd.
(Jer 2:32) Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me
days without number.
(Prov 25:12) As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an
obedient ear.
Wise reprove + obedient ear= ornament of fine gold
(1Pet 3:4) But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the
ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
(1Thess 4:11) And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your
own hands, as we commanded you;
(Prov 17:28) Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is
esteemed a man of understanding.
(1Tim 2:9) In like manner [man and woman] also, that women adorn themselves in modest
apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly
array;
Modest apparel, not speaking when you could gives God room to decorate.
(Prov 4:9) She [wisdom] shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she
deliver to thee.
(1Pet 5:2-4) Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by
constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3) Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
4) And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not
away.
Solomon’s first instruction [‘if’ connects thoughts]
(Prov 1:10) My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
Fool= sinner
(Prov 13:20) He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be
destroyed.
(Rev 18:4) And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be
not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
(Jer 51:45) My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the
fierce anger of the LORD.
(Prov 1:10) My son, if sinners entice thee..
(Jas 1:14) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Don’t consent to sinners actively or passively.
(Prov 23:2-8) And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.
3) Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.
4) Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
5) Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings;
they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
6) Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
7) For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with
thee.
8) The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.
(Prov 1:11) If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without
cause:
12) Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
13) We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
14) Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
15) My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
11) If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
(Matt 27:3) Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented
himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4) Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to
us? see thou to that.
11) …let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
“us” as though you are already on their side, you just haven’t been given opportunity to exhibit the same actions.
12) Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
Now they ‘us’ are playing God as though they have the power to take life or the pleasure of life.
Korah, Dathan and Abiram
(Num 16:32-33) And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and
all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
33) They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed
upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
13) We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
The goal for the fool is get for nothing something that only can be obtained by the proper recipient.
(Prov 17:16) Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no
heart to it?
Innocents lost, is not transferred to the perpetrator.
13) … fill our houses with spoil:
14) Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
(1Tim 6:10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have
erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
(Exod 23:7-9) Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I
will not justify the wicked.
8) And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the
righteous.
(Deut 16:19) Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for
a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.
(Prov 16:8) Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
14) … let us all have one purse:
And guess who is going to hold the purse, not you.
(John 12:6) This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the
bag, and bare what was put therein.
(John 13:29) For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him,
Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the
poor.
15) My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
(Rom 16:17) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary
to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
