Jane Austen s book, Northanger Abbey tells the tale of a young heroine, Catherine
Morland coming into her adulthood in the city of Bath and later at Northanger
Abbey. She learns of social standards, friendship, love, and dishonesty all of which
are written in the books she loves so dearly. The last paragraph of the work finishes
the satire with extreme cliched points that represent the gothic novel to a tee.
Throughout the novel, Jane Austenuses satire to make fun of the classical gothic
novel with the cliched points such as love at first sight, a man coming to save the
day, and of course a mysterious abbey that holds all the spooks and scares an 18
year old girl could wish for. But alas, the Northanger Abbey is nothing of the sort,
rather it is a modernized structure with only pieces of the mysterious that it had
been before. Catherine, starved of mystery, even tries to create a horror story of
General Tinely murdering his wife, or later keeping her captive in the dungeon, all
of which are disproven by our hero, Henry Tinely. The humor in the novel is shown
through the actions and dialogue of our beloved characters. Catherine is rather
ignorant when it comes to social cues such as Isabella s constant flirting and desire
of attention, not just from the opposite sex but rather Catherine as well. Our
heroine was blinded by happiness and sisterhood to see what the reader saw all
along, Isabella was lying, gold digger with a pretty smile and goddess complex. A
part of the humor in Catherine s ignorance lies in the double meaning comments
Isabella makes that go over her poor head and when she finally realizes Isabella s
true motives towards the end of the novel: Money.

adolescent experiencing a panic attack (PA). PA lie under two conditions.
National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) defines Panic disorder as
characterized by recurring, unforeseen panic attacks followed by at least 1 month of
persistent worry about having another attack and concern about its consequences, or a
significant change in behavior related to panic attacks.
NICE defines generalised anxiety disorder a common disorder of which the central
feature is excessive worry about a number of different events associated with
heightened tension.

There are many problems in this world today. One main problem in the United
States and all over the world is mass shootings. This problem is a huge one because
it involves people killing other people and that is just unacceptable. In the last ten
years there have been over 53 mass shootings in the United States, not including the
rest of the world (Chris Wilson). In the last thirty five years there have been seven
hundred and twenty two and then one thousand one hundred seventy seven (Chris
Wilson). If you look at the number of people that are killed or being wounded, you
will notice that with new devices being introduced. One of the devices that have
been introduced is a bump stock. This device is a stock for a semi automatic riflethat
can basically turn your semi automatic rifle into a fully automatic rifle. They are
considering making this attachment to a rifle illegal to the public.
A bump stock it should be banned, it should be disallowed, it should be wiped off
of the face of the earth, said Steven Wolfson, the district attorney of Clarkson
county, Nevada, which includes Las Vegas (Shortell). The Las Vegas shooting that
occurred on October 1, 2017 killed fifty nine people and injured five hundred
twenty seven others. The shooter had twenty three firearms in his hotel room and
twenty of them were rifles and most of them were equipped with bump stocks.
Most people did not have a problem with the bump stock until certain people
started using them to shoot and kill humans in mass shootings. People are trying to
get these bump stocks banned because of this reason: mass shootings. Bump stocks
are not the reason for mass shootings, but they allow the gun man s rifle to shoot
faster. With the gun firing faster the gun man can kill more people because there is
more projectiles firing from the gun. Most people want the bump stock to be banned
in every state. Citizens of the United States will probably begin to buy these bump
stocks because they will probably be banned soon.
If they talk about banning certain bump stocks or all of them, people will go out and

Special Education Assignment
Working with students with special needs, as teachers, we need to protect our
students right. Special education teachers are required to keep high standards and
meet best practices. According to the Preliminary Credential Competency Checklist
Historical and Legal Foundation 1.4 (2014), two of the best practices that are
enforced in the special educationfield is to individualize education and evidence
based practice (p.1). Being a teacher in a special education classroom, there is a
diverse level of learners and each student has an individual methods of learning. The
role of the teacher is to verify each students learning is being meet. Individualizing a
lesson by making accommodiations or modification for them to learn the curriculum.
Implementing evidence based practice is using an educational method of learning
that will support the students learning based on previous research that has been
completed. Using evidence based practice in a special education classroom is a key
component when a student or students need an intervention to support them in the
academic area they are struggling. Special education teachers are responsible of
meeting best practice standards to *** students academic learning.
My responsibilities this week as continued with teaching whole class lessons and
small group instruction. When teaching whole class instructions, before beginning
the math material, I had to keep in mind the different level of students math level.
