Learn about power and control, the cycle of violence, characteristics of healthy relationships, and facts about technology abuse.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Samantha Collier founded and created TeamTeal365, a small grassroots organization established in 2009 that is dedicated to empowering, educating, advocating, and supporting ALL survivors of sexual assault.
In 2012, TeamTeal365 became an LLC. Abused as a child and raped as an adult, Samantha feels a
personal obligation to serve and be a visible witness to her community about what a sexually abused person looks like. The goal of the organization is to wrap each survivor in compassion and trust starting with the simple words, “I believe you”—words Samantha knows firsthand can help victims move from surviving to thriving. Samantha is a voice of powerful visible change. Because violence and sexual assault leaves victims living in fear, some never get the chance to realize their full potential because their pain outweighs their strengths. Samantha’s goal is to reach out to survivors of sexual violence, as well as their families, partners, and siblings, to move them from merely surviving to thriving.
This presentation covers some of the reasons of why bullies bully. Stepping inside the mind of a bully allows us to understand their mindset and realize that in some cases they are victims themselves and need help - that does not excuse their behavior, though.
Bullies, like most people, can be helped to change.
There are those of us who believe that our children will always reach out when they've been hurt and that they know to do this because that's what we taught them do. Sometimes, the guilt and shame associated with being physically abused takes all of our child's lessons and tosses them to the ground. Not only that, it is simply super difficult to "read" people who don't routinely share their feelings with us...or is it? Please review this presentation and then either get help for yourself or for anyone you even suspect is being abused.
Before it's too late.
Please.

7. • Advertisements must not condone or encourage violence, crime, disorder or
• Anti-social behaviour.
• In the campaign advert the actors will not encourage violence crime disorder or anti-social behaviour this is because we will warn people in
advanced, and at the end so people have a clear understanding of what message we are trying to send to everyone. We will also make sure we
find suitable locations to not disturb or distress anyone.
• Advertisements must contain nothing that could cause physical, mental, and moral
• Or social harm to persons under the age of 19.
• We will be making sure that this won’t be happening because we will be sending a message out that people that are involved in domestic violence
should come out and speak about it and get help. The people in the advert will make sure that everyone know that what people are dealing with is
serious and won’t make fun of people that are actually involved in domestic violence at the end of our campaign advert there will be a message
that there are people out there that can help them resulting in more people coming forward and more people getting out of domestic violence and
less people getting hurt.
8. • Advertisements must not include material that is likely to condone or encourage
• Behaviour that prejudices health or safety.
• Our campaign advert will be trying to stop domestic violence and it will be clear in the advert that we are trying to stop
domestic violence and not encourage it we will be discouraging the fact that some people think it is normal to be
physically or emotionally hurt will be discouraged and making it clear that it is not normal and making people aware of the
after effects of being in a domestic violent relationship for too long could be toxic and letting people know it’s never too
late to leave and seek for help and encourage putting your health and safety first before anyone else.
9. • Advertisements must not condone or encourage harmful discriminatory Behaviour or treatment.
Advertisements must not prejudice respect for human Dignity.
• in our advert we will make it clear for everyone to know that being treated badly is never right and you
should always exclude yourself from situations that involve domestic violence because our advert is
not only for people that are involved in domestic violence but also for everyone else in the future they
know what to do and also they know the signs at the beginning of being involved in domestic violence.
11. Research
• Our group decided to do primary research to help us have an overview on domestic violence and peoples opinions on how they feel about
domestic violence in general
• We did this by carrying out a survey and we were successful to get peoples opinion on domestic violence. Our secondary research helped us as it
gave us an idea as a group of how to structure our domestic violence campaign
• We also found out that many individuals go through domestic violence, that is why we want to reach out to many people and we want to make
them aware of domestic violence.
• The campaign may reach out to people who go through domestic violence
• People who go through domestic violence may feel that they’re not alone they can reach out to somebody
• The research will help as we have watched multiple types of domestic violence and how it can occur in anyone's life
• As a group we also found out facts about domestic violence which are reliable
• We can get a good idea of opinions from people as, domestic violence is a serious subject
• We would have an idea of what to post and what not to post due to specific audiences that may be offended or concerned of the advert
12. Brainstorm ideas
In our group we decided to keep it simple and to have two actors, one individual will be going through domestic violence in college, they
will be teenagers as that is the usual age that most domestic victims
In our brainstorm we decided to choose various techniques to make our domestic campaign structured in the right way
We will video in college in a classroom for example so we have permission and disturbances compared to filming outside
Our primary audience will be teenagers as they are the typical age group, our secondary audience will be young adults
Our primary audience will be teenagers as they are the typical age group, our secondary audience will be young adults
We will like to spread awareness via social media, we will distribute our campaign on YouTube, this will widen our target audience,
many people can view from mobile devices etc.
People can get a good idea of opinions from people as, domestic violence is a serious subject
