Producer(s): Nargis Borhan Production Title: Glory- Bastille Music Video
Brief: To create a music video using our own shots, props, artists, and ideas that that
contains typical conventions of the chosen genre, in this case Indie Pop.
Aim:
To create a music video to the song ‘Glory’ by the band Bastille.
Description of your intentions:
The song is quite long as it is nearly 5 minutes long, however it has lots of meaning behind
the lyrics in which I can incorporate a variety of shots using different props and including a
dramatic narrative. The narrative being that the two main characters will be out having fun
and enjoying their company, until one of them get hit by a car which at this point I will
reverse the music video to the start and have one of the main characters waking up as
though everything that just happened wasn’t real which links to the lyrics of the song. I will
keep to the typical conventions of a Bastille music video by having a conceptual narrative
music video. The cuts will keep in time with the lyrics and beat of the song in order to make
the video looks as professional as possible. I will also use a variety of locations as it will work
better with my narrative.
Target Audience:
My target audience will be of the Indie/Pop fan base as it is the genre of the song. This will
enable me to have a wide target audience as pop is a very popular and common genre of
music. Bastille are also a band that is liked by a variety of age groups as their songs are
catchy and different.

Proposal

HAYDON MEDIA Proposal Producer(s): Nargis Borhan Production Title: Glory- Bastille Music Video Brief: To create a music video using our own shots, props, artists, and ideas that that contains typical conventions of the chosen genre, in this case Indie Pop. Aim: To create a music video to the song ‘Glory’ by the band Bastille. Description of your intentions: The song is quite long as it is nearly 5 minutes long, however it has lots of meaning behind the lyrics in which I can incorporate a variety of shots using different props and including a dramatic narrative. The narrative being that the two main characters will be out having fun and enjoying their company, until one of them get hit by a car which at this point I will reverse the music video to the start and have one of the main characters waking up as though everything that just happened wasn’t real which links to the lyrics of the song. I will keep to the typical conventions of a Bastille music video by having a conceptual narrative music video. The cuts will keep in time with the lyrics and beat of the song in order to make the video looks as professional as possible. I will also use a variety of locations as it will work better with my narrative. Target Audience: My target audience will be of the Indie/Pop fan base as it is the genre of the song. This will enable me to have a wide target audience as pop is a very popular and common genre of music. Bastille are also a band that is liked by a variety of age groups as their songs are catchy and different. Similar Products: Other songs by Bastille such as ‘Power’ and ‘Pompeii’ Videos that inspired me are videos such as ‘Somebody Else’-The 1975, ‘Chocolate’-The 1975
