1: Rhianna - Sledgehammer
 Genre: Pop
 Type of music Video:
 It is based around performance With it mostly being focused on Rhianna, However, certain parts of the
music video is meant to be related to the new Star Trek movie.
 Purpose of music video:
 The purpose of the music video is to entertain the audience however, it is synergized with the new Star
Trek movie which means that the film and Rhianna will benefit from this.
 What is inspirational:
 Its inspirational due to the amount of different camera shots used and the use of CGI to make it look
like rhianna is in space and the make up to make her look like an extraterrestrial being

2: Taylor Swift – Bad Blood
 Genre: Pop
 This music video is based around being about narrative due to the spy, High tech narrative about
being in a secret service of some kind. With starring many different famous celebrity singers.
 The purpose of this music video is to entertain her intended audiences. With her also reaching other
singers audiences with them starring in her music video.
 How an audience can get hooked on a good narrative to make them want to keep watching and to
find out what happens.

3.Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc.
Genre: Alternative/ Indie
 The music video is based around a performance however, none of the band members are in it except for their
cartoons which is iconic to the Gorillaz with their art style being unique.
 Purpose of the music video is to address certain things that people look out for when they want to
 'feel good' and this music video brings up many different points about it either chlllenging or reinforcing the
stereotype on how to feel happy.
 It is inspirational with it all being in cartoon and having no people in the video. This means that music videos don’t
have to be with people in them.

4.Sia- Chandelier
 Genre: Pop
 With this being a conceptual music video, It is up to the audience what they get from the music
video. With it being interprited in different ways on social media.
 The purpose of the video is to engage audience through performance. However, It doesn’t have
the singer in the music video due to her USP to keep her identity hidden.
 We could make a music video with just a narrative or a performance like this but its jut dancing
or it is conveying a message through different ways than sing an artist.

5.Eminem – Rap God
 Genre: Hip Hop/ Rap
 It is a performance about eminem and his lifestyle. Certain things reinforce this sereotype of what
gangs are like and sometimes it challenges it with different outlooks.
 The purpose of the music video is to entertain. However, it is meant to show off Eminem's talent of
rapping. This is known to be one of the fastest rapping songs known to date.
 We can create a music video from it just being focused around a performance but tying in
different stereotypes and challenging them

6.Adele – Send my love (to your new lover)
 Genre: Pop
 It is based around performance with Adele centered in the middle with a simple background.
 Purpose of music video: This music video is to show the natural talents of Adele and not any narrative
to make the audience lose focus.
 With overlapping all of the different shots of the base tracks and making them translucent gives it a
funny ghosting effect but it is effective for the video. This causes the audience to look at her more
when they're watching the music video.

7.Route 94 –My Love
 Genre: Pop
 This music video is based around narrative due to it being a video filmed with heat censored cameras.
This shows the audience how bodies react in different situations.
 The purpose of the music video is to entertain the audience however, it makes the music video
interesting to watch due the different colours used. It almost looks like it was created with CGI
 With it being shot with a different camera, it can show the many different ways you can shoot a music
video.

8. Queens of the Stone Age – Go with the
flow
 Genre: Rock
 It is based around a performance with a weird style of CGI used where it turns everything into
shades of black, white and red. This makes it suitable for the intended audience.
 The purpose of the music video is to entertain its main intended audience with a bit of erotica
put in for a male audience to watch the music video.
 It uses a different type of CGI that is different than what other bands have used.

9. Ed sheeran- Lego House
 Genre: Pop/ Indie
 It is based around a narrative about Ed sheeran however, it is played by Rupert Grint, Commonly
known as Ron Weasley from the Harry Potter franchise. This can increase the amount of people that
watch the music video.
 The purpose of the music video is to let the audience know how relatable Ed sheeran is to people by
telling this story. And with having Rupert Grint play a role in it means that his audience will watch the
music video because of the well known actor.
 Having a story told along with a ballad can be effective .

10. Snakehips - Forever
 Genre: R&B / Soul
 It is a performance and a narrative music video at the same time with it being mainly
choreographed by the famous vouge dancers "Ayabambi".
 The purpose of this music video is to show off how good choreography and well known dancers
can help promote your music video to a global audience.
 Having choreography in the music video shows that it can draw in an audience.

11.Lady Gaga - Applause
 Genre: Pop
 It is based around performance however, it can also be conceptual as well with the different use
of settings, costumes and choreography..
 It is to show what different styles Lady Gaga has and how they influence her crowd to like her
and sometimes even do similar costumes for themselves.
 How a lot of different costumes can draw in an audience to watch your music video.

12. Panic at the disco LA devotee
 Genre: Pop/ Rock
 This is a narrative and performance music video with both Brendan Urie and the Narrative taking place
at the same time.
 It is to address how some cults are in certain places of the world with how they show off their cause.
Some of them are not well interpreted.
 The use of energetic movements along with the beat of the song can make people watch it because it
matches the song.

11.Beyonce- Hold Up
 Genre: Reggae
 It is based around performance and a narrative with the interlude at the beginning of the video. It is also
to tell a story of how a partner cheated on her.
 The purpose of this is to address how relatable Beyonce can be to a common person and that she isnt a
perfect human being because she is a celebrity..
 To make a performance video that is relatable to a common audience which will attract more people to
watch it.

14. Wilkinson - Aftwrglow
 Genre: Pop/ House
 It is based around Narrative but in a very different way. It shows statistics about their relationship with
artistic layouts for all of them..
 This is meant to be relatable to a common relationship and can let people know hat its like to be in a
relationship.
 Having a lot of reading in the music video can allow people to watch and will wan to make people
want to know more about what a common relationship gets up to.

15. Melanie Martinez –Mrs. Potato Head
 Genre: Pop
 This music video is down to a narrative about a common problem in todays society with a dark
outlook.
 This can attract an audience due to the message its trying to convey to people about plastic surgery
and why it is a negative thing to have done to your body.
 If we could bring up a common problem in todays socety, it can cause people to watch our music
video.
