Project Plan
Plan A:
The physical board game I feel is an idea that makes most sense in relation to my
research findings and the intention with which I had started this diploma project.
For my final deliverable, I want to be able to produce a convincing document that
consolidates:

• The detailed out concept: Content, interaction, material
• User testing that explores different play patterns ( involves change of rules, quick
prototypes) and a documentation of this
• A final prototype

I do not aim to finish an absolutely marketable product that can be put on shelves, but a
close final prototype that demonstrates the game design. My focus of this toy essentially
is the play process and interaction of the game, and how this game communicates and
educates children.

( As part of one of my usability tests, i will include the helmet head as a component of the
game to test its level of failure and success)

Plan B:
The ‘refrigerator magnet stories’ is an idea I aim to develop as a backup option. I
essentially see this as a variation of my helmet heads toy as it involves the same process
of putting different parts together to create insects, and builds stories around it. The
difference would mainly lie in the play spaces. For this, I will dedicate a certain amount of
time everyday to rapid prototype and test to bring this idea to completion.
Project Timeline
02 - 03rd September:
Quick generation of rules for the game and content, rapid prototyping, user testing

04-08th September:
Generation of a second idea for the game rules and content, rapid prototyping, user testing

09th September:
Review meeting/ feedback

!0th - 16th September:
Refining on game rules, interaction and play process, finalization of possible materials to be used, etc. Consolidating and finalizing full
concept.

17th September:
Review meeting

18th September - 01st October:
Making changes if required/ incorporating feedback, sourcing and starting on final prototype, (if possible) a usability test.

01st - 07th October:
Buffer period for prototype, and presentation for internal jury (10th October)

10th October - 17th October:
