NEW REQUIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT : Project Manager<br />Location: Stamford, CT <br />Start: ASAP <br />Duration: 3+ Months <br />JOB PURPOSE: <br />The individual in this position is responsible for capturing the design, system requirements and design specifications for new programs after meeting with the users and IT to define these requirements and the development team to review the functional capabilities. The incumbent will also manage the status updates, overall project lifecycle, meeting coordination and communication. The ability to communicate effectively with the users, developers and upper Management will also be expected of the individual in this position. As a member of the development team, this position assumes the ongoing responsibility to ensure the renewed integrity of system security in all development efforts. <br />ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, TASKS:<br />Has a working understanding of the information system and can accurately capture design guidance given to developers as well as provide suggestions for development, application, and production improvement to upper management. Follows proper standards and security measures for designing the system to be developed.<br />Work closely and build relationships with business owners on gathering requirements. Ability to negotiate proper solution with respect to business process and IT architecture. Negotiation skills required to quickly resolve conflicts between and among business owners. <br />Helps to define the tasks to be given to the programming staff and manages project deadlines and timelines. Create and maintain a comprehensive Project Plan for each project. Coordinates all meetings including scheduling, minutes, follow up tasks as assigned.<br />Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional team empowered to execute Six Sigma strategy and tools to improve process capability and eliminate defects.<br />Manages the implementation of the new system with the users and developers, including any testing and training needed during this implementation.<br />Meets regularly with Management of Information Systems to provide project status, issue resolution and timelines. <br />CRITICAL CORE COMPETENCIES: <br />Communication – Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and with all department units on a regular basis regarding project updates, gathering spec requests, testing and training issues. Will also provide feedback and assistance to the team staff regarding project work. <br />Time Management – Must be able to determine accurate time estimate to internal customers regarding project completion and be able to meet those established schedules. Is relied upon to complete tasks in an efficient matter and be accountable for their actions as well as prioritize based on the needs of the business.<br />Problem Solving – Responsible for researching and taking the initiative to solve issues such as project timelines, system problems, implementation and testing issues. Will be able to recognize system and design inefficiencies and recommend improvements.<br />Attention to Detail – Will have strong attention to detail regarding documentation, system security, the design of system requirements, understanding user requests and detailing those requests to programming staff. <br />Expert Knowledge – Experience in IT management, system organization, project management, systems design and development. Understands the global aspects of business and technical developments.<br />Decision Making - Makes decisions independently with minimal guidance from upper management.<br />CRITICAL MANAGEMENT COMPETENCIES: <br />Leadership – Leads by example, employs a mentor role and is responsible for defining the tasks giving to the programming group. Takes the creative initiative, is trusted to perform and is relied upon to complete tasks in an efficient matter and be accountable for the actions of themselves as well as the staff within their assigned team.
